A photo from the last night of our 4 day backpacking trip in the Seven Devils. No wind and some clouds amounted to some great shooting that afternoon. I was extremely thankful for this since the rest of the trip shooting conditions weren't so perfect.
These mountains are considered the top rim of the deepest canyon in the U.S. The bottom of which is Hells Canyon and the Snake River.
Thanks for taking a look!

Marge Lake, Payette National Forest, Idaho
I tranquil morning in the Salmon River Mountains of Idaho. No clouds, but the still waters were enough to make me happy.
Did battle with swarms of mosquitoes, but that just makes it all the more fun and memorable.. Right?

An extremely windy sunrise on our 3 day backpacking trip to Thousand Island Lake, California in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Low, fast -moving clouds obscured the peak of Banner but still offered a beautiful display of light. Thank you for taking a look!

When I first moved to Washington, I saw images of Prusik Peak pop up in magazines here and there, and thought "I MUST GO HERE!" After doing some research I soon found that getting here wasn't a quick walk in the woods. Prusik Peak is one of the Enchantment Peaks located in the Alpine Lake Wilderness Area in Washington. The hike through the Enchantment Lakes basin is 18 miles long, gaining no less than 6,000 vertical feet. Though this hike was one of the hardest that I have done, I was also rewarded with some of the most gorgeous scenery I have ever seen. Prusik Peak is just one icon of an area with endless beauty; countless mountain lakes and tarns, huge glacial valleys, craggy peaks, and larch trees, which turn electric yellow during the fall. For me, experiencing the Enchantments satisfies a major goal of mine.

I finally had chance to get out for some proper Autumn photography in my local area. I had staked this patch of aspens previously and returned in the morning for what I hoped would be a memorable sunrise.

While photographing this area during one sunset and one sunrise, there were many different lighting conditions provided. This image was taken after the sun had been blocked by clouds diffusing the light and evenly illuminating the desert.

The shots below were taken in direct sunlight. Notice the difference?

A colorful sunset with the snow covered White Mountains. It's sure is nice to see some snow on the mountains for a change!
