It bucks and roars with adamantine ferocity,
And the convoluted fire stings her veins.
And her mind departs, though her spirit remains
To be tormented, tattered, and torn.
Brilliance sharpens to madness
As the pain crescendos, silencing her soul.
Fear, asphyxiating veil of darkness, falls shroud-like,
Dark and unforgiving over her remains.
Life becomes but an option
Until light at last cracks the deathly shroud,
And a cool wisp of breath ignites her spirit once again.

Dim to anyone outside the mob
Who doesn't utter a word of hate.
I am stumbling, blinded by tears,
Drowning in my hatred
Of the vile, untrue comments splitting my heart.
Voices are yelling, cursing me
As incurable sores break apart my spirit.
Where is my inner voice? It is asleep
As pain from the punches at my face burn like fire.
I limp away from the crowd, bent over
As I cough up blood.
I am drunk with weakness and disbelief.
