I may be beating a dead horse with the minimal posters, but I did a few Saul Bass-ish designs for a class.

To keep my graphic design skills sharp, I've been doing some Saul Bass/Olly Moss/Constructionist-inspired movie posters.

For the True Grit one, I wanted to play up the intricacy of Jeff Bridges character. On the surface he's a disgusting, crass old man, but as we follow the story through we see he's an honorable, selfless hero. In the poster this is reflected with Bridges and Steinfeld blinded in shadow, with bridges on fire.

Alternative poster for Zombieland. I loved the mix of horror and humor in this movie and wanted to try to bring both elements into this piece. Hopefully you like it!

Move movie posters!

Saw was a movie that I really liked when it first came out. I haven't seen it since, but I did manage to catch a few of the sequels and they left a really bad taste in my mouth so I think that's affected my memory of the first one a bit unfairly. I should probably go back and watch it again.

I think this is probably the most creative design I've come up with for these posters so far. I went the complete opposite way of all the terrible gore in that movie and tried to focus more on the whole puzzle theme with each piece representing more bloodshed.

UPDATE: Removed all studio logos.

The first of these I've done for a while. Yeah should speak for itself really. A poster for the brilliant film by the Coen Brothers. A real gem of film that will change your life.

I'm always trying on different artistic hats. Recently, I decided to set up a table at the Eerie Horror Fest. Quickly realizing I didn't really have any horror stuff to sell, I thought I'd try to make simple, retro looking movie posters.

Love, love, looove the Omen. I was still trying to figure out how to do these posters when I did this one. I still think it's a good enough looking visual, but not sure I was quite there yet.

There you go.

UPDATE: Changed some fonts, added some noise, removed some trouble.

I've seen a lot of folks do Shaun of the Dead stuff. While most folks tend to focus on the zombies, I wanted to remind folks that it's also a romantic comedy so I tried to get that across not only with the design, but the colors as well.

I'm sure a lot of Shaun fans won't really dig this, but that's just too bad, I suppose.

UPDATE: Lost all the studio logos and changed some fonts around, including the main logo.
