this is an Ultra Protomech, not a full-sized mech.

It's an original visual design made to fit in with the other protomechs. I did not work on the stats or back story.

Every time I finished a design, I though of new ideas or ways of improving parts or the overall design and so I sketched out and coloured this to replace the Mirage Space Type. Continuing the white, I had a lot of fun with this design. Again I can think of a lot of ways to improve this though I am still happy with the results.

Overview

The Juggernaut series lohengrin mecha is one of the ‘second generation’ lohengrins developed by the Lohengrin Engineering group. The others in the series include the Cerberus and Maelstrom series. All three models utilize the same basic frame, with a number of individual developments to specific roles, as well as a number of unique features that developed as Lohengrin Engineering became more advanced in developing mecha and weapons technology.
The Juggernaut is the heaviest armored and slowest moving of the three lohengrin designs – but it also has the highest potential weapons load-out yield and destructive capability. The Juggernaut’s slower pace is compensated for by the fact its armor layering is twice that of most models, giving it a major defensive booster against most mecha based weapons, and a neigh impervious state against most traditional weapons.
Armor, however, is only one of the Juggernaut’s impressive design features. The largest part of the Juggernaut’s design role is its Black Sphere Projectile cannon, which gives it an unparalleled destructive power against any and all types of ground based vehicles and structures. While the Black Sphere Projectile Cannon is almost exclusively for anti-ground based assault, its wide heavy reinforced frame allows the Juggernaut to load up a variety of other heavy striking weapon systems for most any enemy type, usually taking place as some form of missile system.

Weapon Systems

Black Sphere Drive (Type Beta)
Location: Mounted into mecha frame

Description
While not a weapon system, the Black Sphere Drive is a vital piece of equipment that was developed for use in the second and third generation Lohengrins. While the main purpose of the Black Sphere Drive was to provide thrust for larger air born craft, the smaller Alpha Type Drive module was adapted to allow small vehicles and mecha an energy efficient flight system. However, the Alpha Type was generally too small for larger scale weight classes, but the larger Omega Type used for larger ships generally proved ‘too power’ and too detrimental on mecha operational times. To compensate for this issue, a slightly larger variant of the Alpha Type was created – the Beta Type.
The Black Sphere Drive is made up of two vitally important components – a central core, and an outer shell like layer. The central core is externally controlled to make subtle and minute movements that are then channeled through the outer core – these movements are converted to kinetic energy, which is then magnified several thousand times and causes the outer shell to move. Any craft (mecha, vehicle or battle ship) which uses a Black Sphere Drive has its frame lined with the same material as the Drive’s outer shell, and then directly connected to the Drive system itself – thus the kinetic energy that channels through the outer shell transfers into the frame of the craft itself. When applied as a means of flight, the Black Sphere Drive generates enough kinetic force that it is able to counter-act the forces of Earth’s gravity, generating lift.

Black Sphere Projectile Cannon

Description
The Black Sphere Projectile Cannon is the ultimate in sheer destructive potential developed by the Lohengrin Engineering team. Rather than firing traditional weapon rounds which either exploded or were designed for armor piercing, the Black Sphere Projectile Cannon fired spherical rounds of steel which had been combined with the same material which made up the core of the Black Sphere Drive System. These projectile rounds are loaded up into the gun’s firing chamber before being fired out with magnetic coils (similar to the gauss weaponry used by the Cerberus and Maelstrom models). As the rounds exit the barrel of the Projectile Cannon, they are given a charge of Black Sphere energy from the Juggernaut itself – which combines with and amplifies the existing kinetic force of the rounds. What usually follows it a sonic boom as the Black Sphere Rounds are delivered to their target at supersonic speeds. Generally speaking, the impact alone is enough to devastate any ground based target, and turn the surrounding area into a flattened crater – but the effect is all the more devastating against mecha or battle ships that use the Black Sphere Drive System. When impacting against a craft that uses a Black Sphere Drive system, the Black Sphere Rounds will impact against the hull, shattering the outer-plating as the remainder of the kinetic force transfers into that craft’s Black Sphere Drive system, causing a negative energy feed back that will cause the entire craft to move in separate directions at the same time, tearing it apart.

CAV FOIL design for :iconvulnepro:'s Theos Ke Polemos project [special thanks to him for the naming and backstory below].

The Dies-Gund N'vos Tessai CAV FOIL model was jointly developed and manufactured by the Indus based manufacturing corporate entities Dies and the Gund FOILArbeiten plant in the political bloc of Germane. A relatively recent model in the line of FOILs by this collaborative union of two manufacturers (much like the Jiendel Gavil FOILs), the 'Tessai' favors more aggressive pilots with its digitigrade stance and lack of shield. This N'vos Tessai, as shown here, is a stripped down model, thin on armor for extra speed and maneuverability. This machine is tailored to its pilot, a skilled swordsman with a swift and graceful combat style. The thin armor is a weakness, to be sure, of this otherwise elegant CAV design but an effective FOIL operator can always exploit the advantages over inherent flaws. Even with the thinner armor a CAV FOIL in the hands of a capable pilot and faedi control entity is a dangerous and formidable opponent. The standard, off the factory body, has more armor plates and is a little less maneuverable but still an effective machine.

Actually, i'm supposed to make some original mecha for my final school project, but i notice that my original is quite repetitive especially in the chest or torso, so i'm trying to draw something different to give me new inspiration.

So you'll see me drawing these random mech for a while.

Also has stiletto-like blades, phase cannons on the front shoulders, CIWS on the head, and 6 folded cannons on the back, and finally, thrusters everywhere :D

Overview

The Cerberus series acts as the ‘primary’ model of the three variants. That is to say, of the three models, the Cerberus has the lowest average production and maintenance costs, resulting in a higher fielding ratio of it as opposed to the other models. The Cerberus makes up a majority portion of the fielded Lohengrin models as used by the Expeditionary Forces, thanks to its medium armored chassis, increased compliment of weapons, versatility, and relatively easy to restock weapon stores.
The Cerberus is armed with a 90mm Gauss Rifle that allows it to deal with most combat situations fairly easily, while the optional Chemical Laser Rifle gives it a significantly more powerful attack power at the cost of effective weapons range. Because of this lack of extra range from the secondary rifle, the Cerberus also supports a hip mounted Titanium Axe, though these two weapons are not standard equipment. The Cerberus can also be specially equipped with a Stormbolt Artillery Cannon. However it is generally reserved for special operations purposes, as it greatly increases the mecha's profile, leaving it an open target in most combat situations.

Description
The 90mm Gauss Rifle fires 90mm Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail Armor Piercing rounds made from a copper coat and tungsten carbide core. The rifle uses a magnetic coil system to fire the 90mm rounds at extremely high velocities, increasing the maximum distance of the rifle as well as increasing its armor piercing capacity. The 90mm gauss rifle can fire in a standard three round burst, or in single round setting – making an excellent sniper rifle.

Chemical Laser Rifle

Location: Hand Carried
Output: 2.5 MW
Ammunition: 10 Shots per Cartridge, Extra cartridges stored on back hip mount
Description
The Chemical laser rifle uses a deuterium-fluoride reaction in which fluorine atoms are accelerated through supersonic nozzles into a laser cavity where it is mixed with Deuterium in a low-temperature low-pressure environment, forming an excited Deuterium-fluoride molecule. The stimulated photons as a result from this reaction are then used to create a laser beam which is capable of generating approximate 2.5 MW of energy in output power. When applied as a weapon, the Chemical Laser is able to do a devastating amount of damage to most objects.

Titanium Axe

Location: Hand Carried
Description
The Titanium axe is a hand held weapon measuring in at a length of 2.5 meters. Its handle grip and blade are made from different types of Titanium Composite allows in order to allow the maximum cutting potential, while at the same time providing an optimum weapon strength. The blade itself is made from an alloy composite to give maximum strength and durability, while the edges have been heat treated and hardened to give a stronger cutting edge. The handle is made from a slightly softer composite, allowing the force and shock from impact to transfer through the blade to the handle, distributing impact along the full length of the weapon to minimize breaking potential.

Stormbolt Artillery Cannon

Location: Hand Carried
Rate of Fire: 5 rounds a minute
Ammunition: 50 rounds fed to weapon by hip mounted ammunition canister
Description
A very large and very powerful artillery cannon, the Stormbolt Artillery Cannon fires 155mm explosive howitzer rounds. Howitzer rounds generally have a higher-than average splinter effect than most artillery rounds, making them a superior long-range artillery ammunition.

Here ya go, folks, the heaviest official mech ever. 150 tons!

I came up with the visual design of this mech for the Battletech book, "Jihad: Final Reckoning"

I really hope they make a miniature of this mech :drool:
