I'm planning on going all-digital for my next few commissions (if not permanently), so I thought I'd try out a few new techniques :) So far, I've thrown down new designs for Kyle and Hal, but I still haven't touched my favorite lantern, John Stewart. Maybe next time.

This version was pretty heavily inspired by the segmented GL suit from the animated movie, which, if you haven't seen it IS AWESOME!!! I tried to make it really look like energy armor, like it was a glass casing with green fire churning underneath. Also, I found a way to incorporate Hal's cheesy white gloves in a way that I found pleasing.

Here's my version of Kyle:

Since everyone else is re-designing the Big Blue, I decided to take a stab at him :)

EDIT:// fixed a few typos.

With this i was thinking modern Greek warrior, lots of people seem to go for the ancient look for Wonder Woman but I feel the Amazons would have advanced as a civilization regardless of being in isolation. I'm not sure of the extent of her invulnerability so I just gave her basic armor.

I was going to scrap the gold in favor of all silver, but the red and gold scheme just worked for me on the body armor, I drew a blank with the feet though.

Seeing as Wonder Woman is a given name I went with the eagle instead of the WW as an emblem - it just makes sense to me.

Here's something that I was saving as a sketchbook exclusive...buuuuuuut, since no one has been buying the sketchbook, I said screw it and I'm posting it. Some of these are old, some you've already seen, some are a little newer. ALL were done before the DCnU relaunch, so if I had known that was going to happen, I may not have done these at all. I'm actually not a huge fan of messing too much with classic costumes; this was more or less a character design exercise.

Oh, BTW...buy my art book!!! [link]

Here's another one of my "redesigned Justice League" pics. There's actually a whole series of these that remain uncolored (I started them back in 2003-ish, but this one was done a couple of months ago). If I ever get around to releasing a sketchbook, the whole series will be in there.

Take a note, DC: THIS is what Wonder Woman is supposed to look like. Snoogans.

Lines are by the often imitated (but never duplicated) :iconwindriderx23: Check out the original lines below, and make sure to scope out the rest of his gallery while you're at it.

I hate Wonder Woman's costume. I just think it's ugly. So, from time to time, I feel compelled to redesign the character. Last time, I wanted to give her a more contemporary look. [link]

This time, I'm trying to get rid of what I think is the major flaw in Wonder Woman's so-called "classic" costume: it's just a garish collection of colors, all competing for our attention. Honestly, it's a mess. My solution to the problem here is to get rid of the blue, replacing it with a more elegant black, while using the remaining red and yellow in a more coherent fashion.

At the same time, I tried to make the character look like a post-modern Greek goddess, which is what she's supposed to be, isn't it?

:pointr: You can see other Wonder Woman redesigns in my Wonder Woman gallery.
