Within everyone lies an emptiness that has to be filled with a passion - landscape photography is my passion (alongside my band of course).

This was shot on the 5th day of my recent Portugal Trip with ~emats after we had a very disappointing sunrise in the dunes eastward of these rock formations located near the town of Almograve on the Atlantic Coast. Luckily we actually waited for almost overcast weather conditions to shoot some of the very ominous looking forms and I am more than just content with the outcome. Also I guess I will add a vertical format of this motif in due time as well. ~emats has already uploaded his vertical format which you can take a look at here: [link]

I used my trusty B+W to get the long exposure and actually switched the white balance to cold light which led to the slight purple touch but still an overall cold light blue toning so I didn't have to change much colorwise. And since I loved the colors so much I figured I might as well use it as a Wallpaper and subsequently ended up going the extra mile to set up a complete Wallpaper Pack for you guys. Hope you enjoy; also let me know what you think. ;)

Swampy bank of the Fraser river in Richmond, Beautiful British Columbia. Really like how the purple tones came through in this one, along with the two patches of pink.

I often wonder why the shots that you don't even plan can turn out to be some of your personal favorites and sometimes even if the pictures aren't as breathtaking as others you still like them way more. I've taken some pictures of really spectacular sights over the years and still some of the best I've taken at least for me personal are those which were taken under the right conditions, with a good friend or alone on a Tuesday night at 4am during the semester leading you with utterly no sleep but a picture.

This is one of those pictures. At first sight it's nothing more but a stream in the forest but there are so many little details to discover and so much the composition actually unveils overtime that I've really grown to love this shot. I was there in the rain holding my hand over the lens so no drops get onto the filters actually on my way to some other spot when I walked next to this small river for some time always checking for a composition. Then about 45 minutes alongside the stream this particular sight struck me and I rather spent half an hour working in the rain than walking to my actual destination.

And I've had it as my desktop background for quite some time now and I am still content with it due to its rich details so I think this would make a great wallpaper; or what do you guys think?
