This is the FINAL. I've had a lot of people ask me to do some step scans for Blonde hair, and thought this would be a good one.
Katie Herzig is a Singer-Songwriter from Nashville, and is amazingly talented! She is also part of the highly acclaimed group of Singer-Songwriters known as the "Ten out of Tenn" (Tennessee), along with my son, Andrew Belle. Katie is the one who sang on his song "Static Waves"
I drew this for my dad's birthday recently. He was in his 20's in this photo, hence the hair style We lost my little brother Mark to Melanoma skin cancer on 6/18/2005. He was in remission for 8 years, but it had gotten into his lymph nodes. Then in January 2007 I myself had a mole removed from my lower back that was also Malignant Melanoma, but they got it all, and it did not get into my nodes. (Thanks Lord!) It's been 5+ years for me now, and I go for check ups every 6-months
(Actual Drawing size is between un-zoomed and zoomed views)
I did some hair tip tutorials on this, and will type more below on that later. This was tough, for many reasons, aside from staring at his photo for 10 hours. My reference photo was a print of a scan of a 20 year year old photo, which was blurry and out of focus in many key areas. I would normally NOT draw using a poor reference photo like this, but considering the subject, and I knew the details without having to see them, that's what I did.
SIZE: 7 x 9 inches PAPER: Bristol Smooth 300 series (like always) TIME: about 10 hours PENCILS: Staedtler Mars Lumograph H, HB, F, B, 2B TOOLS: Blending stumps, sponge tipped sticks, color shaper with chisel edge
PS- here is a side-by-side comparison with the same drawing I drew exactly 3 years before
This is one of the first drawings I have made with more than one person in it. From the left is Tuco Salamanca played by Raymond Cruz, Walter White played by Bryan Cranston and Jesse Pinkman played by Aaron Paul.
This is probably the most difficult drawing I have made, mostly because I had to draw three faces on 5.7 x 5.7 inches paper, and I also really struggled to draw the blurred effect on Walters face.
I used about 8-10 hours to create this drawing. I used a 4B and 6H pencil, an eraser, blending stump and tissue for blending.
NOTE: The UN-enlarged view is EXACT SIZE of the drawing
I found a photo of Ryan Gosling and George Clooney combined. Ryan is holding a folded TIME magazine over 1/2 of his face with Clooney on the other side. I have not seen the movie yet, but want to.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year! I've been SO busy with moving, work etc that this is the first drawing I've down in almost 2 months. Now that we are settled, and winter is setting in, I hope to be drawing a lot more!

This is Max Arciniega who played Krazy-8 in "Breaking Bad" He was in episodes 1 - 3. Follow him on Twitter as @MaxArciniega and visit www.MaxArciniega.com and check out his music!
I'm mailing this to Max, who will get me a photo of him holding it soon. Just like the other Breaking Bad mug shots, his was also too small. I had to use a music promo photo he gave me and basically create a hair style closer to his character Krazy 8, although he was a lot dirtier after Walt and Jesse got him down in the basement, so this is an original drawing
