Marcus was sitting on a log at near the shore of the beach watching the waves keep going back and forth. Everyone Else however was having their own ways to calm down after an endless war. Baird was fixing whatever machine he could find to fix. Cogs were all over the place fixing the buildings and lands on Azura. There was one thing missing in the picture of peace. It was Marcus's longtime friend and brother Dominic Santiago. Marcus was still trying to cope over not only the loss of his brother but his father, Adam Fenix, as well.
"I wish you were here Dom," Marcus said to himself before sighing, "Everyone and everything is what we dreamed the end of the war would look like."
Marcus was still talking and was interrupted by the sound of footsteps on the sand. He looked behind him to see who it was. It was Anya Stroud.
"Marcus?" Anya asked.
"Yeah Anya?" Marcus replied.

"When we are fully cleansed and the truth comes forth, will we listen? listen .. listen ... listen!"
And just like that, Niles Samson or what was left of him, ended.
New hope would probably end up like most of the residences the cogs visited, shattered and forgotten and Niles would just be another lost voice in two soldiers head.
Marcus let his hand slide of the obvious switch that had just made his miserable life a bit easier.
He rolled his head from shoulder to shoulder and sighed slightly.
"Rest in peace, nut job" Marcus spat out on the large black screen in front of him.
He grabbed his lancer and walked slowly towards Dom who seemed just as relieved as himself.
Neither Dom nor Marcus allowed themselves to think outside what Niles had just told them, it was too risky to reflect over what could have been done differently and why.

GOW3- Someone To Hold On ToThe sight that beseeched many fellow gears out over the shoreside had many either rolling their eyes or agreeing with one another that it was about time as both, Lieutenant Anya Stroud and Sergeant Marcus Fenix, had a moment looking over the sunsetting ocean.GOW3- Someone To Hold On To3 years ago in Romance More Like This
The fortunate Carmine brother had only looked on at an angle with his helmet still placed on his head for a brief moment, before looking onward to fellow squad mates that had been cheering for Adam Fenix's latest success. (Bless Delta Squad too, of course.)
He had to choke back laughter at a certain cocky, smart assed, mechanic who failed to swoon the south islander, Samantha Byrne. Then there was Jace Stratton, who had his own small victory lapse with many other nameless gears.

~ Room 302
Snake gasped as he bolted upright, startled awake from the same nightmare again that's plagued him for the past week. He checked himself over to see with there was anything missing on his person before sighing in relief in seeing he wasn't injured in anyway. By now, he should be used to the dream, but it felt so real that he couldn't help but examine himself for injuries each time he woke up. The young man sighed again as he swung his legs off his bed and slipped them into his shoes, faintly aware of the rhythmic thrum of the ceiling fan. Lee shuddered as fragments of his dream resurfaced, shaking his head to get rid of them and ruffling his already messy blonde hair in the process. He blinked the sleep out of his tired green eyes, realizing just now how drained he felt. He hadn't had a decent night's rest since the nightmare occurred and he was rather annoyed by it. One night, just one night of good sleep was all that he was asking. Some of the fragments of the

Silent Hill 4: The Room
It was two years ago that Lee 'Snake' Townshed moved into Room 302 of South Ashfield Heights, an apartment building in the medium-sized city of Ashfield. Snake was happy and enjoying his new life. But five days ago, something strange happened. He began to have a recurring dream each night.
One other thing...
He couldn't leave Room 302...
He groaned softly as he opened his eyes, disoriented for the moment. He blinked at the ceiling and the ceiling fan, confused. Both were stained a rusty red. Strange... he thought as he turned to glance at his floor and tiny closet. He blinked again, staring at the color. The carpet was dirted with dried blood beyond salvaging it. The closet itself was smeared with dried liquid and rusting. The man pushed himself off the bed and looked around his bed room, disturbed by its bizarre coloring. "Jesus... these are the walls and shit? What th

For so long had her eyes been trapped in that dark humid cell the low sun light almost blinded her when she stepped into the square. The pain brought her to tears - or was it despair - and more than see them, she guessed a crowd that had gather to witness yet another execution.
Eyes squinting, she could discern little but blurred shapes of people, although she could hear them shout, laugh, cry out obscenities as the prison guards led her pass them.
At that moment, the herald announced the main attraction for that evening:
'Citizens of Acre, for her crimes against the people, against the King and against God, Maria Thorpe was sentenced to death by decapitation. You will all stand witness of justice being done".
The roar of the crowd made Maria tremble as she was pushed up the execution platform. Wearing the coarse grey tunic of the damned, her face was covered in dirt and dry blood. Her dark hair, usually neatly braided around her head, was falling down her back like a

There was nothing he loved the most than to accompany his father on his trips. It was an opportunity not only to learn the trade but, most of all, to see new places, listen to strange and interesting languages, meet people from all corners of the world. It was also a perfect excuse to get away from his studies and from the regular baths his mother insisted he should take, not to mention her close inspections to his fingernails and ears before the evening meals. On the road, he could be as filthy as he pleased, bathing for his amusement and not because his nurse would chase him to exhaustion around the house.
The only thing he didn't like was the amount and nature of the chores he had to do before getting permission to go swimming. On that particular morning, he had to do the laundry. A unworthy and humiliating task, in his opinion, for a grown man of seven like himself.
He reached for a piece of

A high pitched ringing blares Lightning deaf as her eyes make an attempt to come back into focus. The ground cold against her cheek as time seems to slow. She shifts lifting her head, the echo of the surrounding chaos almost mute against her blared senses. She pulls herself up to her knees, shakes her head. Looks at her hand when she feels the warmth of blood, returns it to her left temple then looks at it again.
Then shoots her gaze up as her deafness zeroes out to screaming. Time resuming its chaos as people shove past her, both away and toward the flames of the stadium that was now filled with countless corpses or those who were not yet a corpse.
Lightning stands, her eyes lingering on the very scene that laid out before her. Struck with horror as men, woman, and children alike burst out of the remnants covered in flames. "I will not wear this and that is final!"
Averroes and Maria smiled when he walked into the scholar's study, followed by two male servants who were hopelessly trying to finish dressing him. His attire could not be more different from his usual rough Assassin garb: a golden kaftan over a pearly white tunic, richly embroidered pointy babouches and a silk turban whose pleats one of the servants kept trying to adjust, only to be pushed back by the Assassin at every attempt.
Trying not to laugh at his friend's desperate struggle against the heavy, wide sleeves and the slippery footwear, Averroes replied:
"Altaïr, you must understand I cannot present you at the royal palace in that burlap you usually wear."
"Then explain to me, Ibn Rushd," Altaïr blustered, "how can I carry and use my hidden blade if required, when I can't even move or walk in this ridiculous outfit!"
"Don't carry the wretched thing, then!" M

The words seemed to come from far away.
“If I didn’t know any better, I would say that you’re getting hurt on purpose.”
Fang knew that voice. There was a hint of concern in it and no small amount of exasperation. It was easy to picture the speaker in her head. Dr Lightning Farron wasn’t the sort of woman people forgot. The last time that Fang had seen her, the good doctor had been dressed in a charcoal pantsuit with a white coat and a frown.
Apparently, Lightning had found out about Fang’s early return to work from a broken leg, and she hadn’t been the least bit happy about it. Lightning had scolded her like an errant schoolgirl and called Fang’s superiors to inform her that, no, she wasn’t ready to return to work yet.
Fang hadn’t known whether to admire Lightning’s guts or strangle her. In the end, she’d settled for teasing the doctor until she’d stormed off in a huff. Good times.

She knew long hours of boredom and waiting lay before her, so for a while she tried to kill the time looking through the opening at the top of the wall. To do this, she moved the bed under the window and climbed over it. But when her curiosity was finally satisfied, she soon grew tired of the limited scenery she could enjoy from there - a narrow view on the back street. Limassol still seemed deserted and not a single soul passed by. At times the sea wind blew stronger and lifted the dust of the alley in concentric swirls. Wittingly or not, the scholar had followed the old Assassin tradition of hiding in plain sight, leaving such a coveted object as the Apple in his study, inside a box that was dusted, polished and moved around by unknowing servants almost every day.
A soft glow began to exude from the sphere when the Assassin took it in his hands, almost like a tamed beast purring of contentment for being reunited with its master. Altaïr didn't look less satisfied for having it back. Maria watched, her lips pressed tight in disapproval, as his fingers followed every crease on the sphere surface, turning it round gently, almost as if making sure every little detail he had engraved in his mind was still there.
"It looks like a toy a nobleman would give his son," Averroes said in a whisper. Somehow, he always felt the need to lower his voice in the presence of the artefact, perhaps

You go to visit his mother, just once. There, she keeps Craig’s room like a shrine.
This used to be your place of refuge. You came here when your parents fought, when you did badly on a test, when you had no reason at all.
It isn’t safe any longer. It still smells like him. You feel you could fall backwards onto his bed and find his body there beside you, his back warm against yours. Pictures of the two of you together stare at you from the walls.
You catch movement from the corner of your eye and turn, quickly, to the mirror. For a minute you see him standing behind you, his shoulders rolled forward and his hair hanging in his eyes. When he lifts his head to meet your gaze, there is nothing—only blackness.
You walk outside at once. The sun is so bright you have to stop, wiping your eyes.

Knowledge Is PowerI tell you that I love you.Knowledge Is Power5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
You ask me if I mean it.
Like my love—
This trembling thing inside me
That snaps at my fingers when I let warm milk and honey
Drip-drip-drip into its open, vicious beak,
That screams like murder when I let it alone
And leaves a cloud of feathers and dust when it flies—
Is something I can pick apart.
Something I can capture and euthanize—
humanely, because I despise
The killing of small creatures;
Never mind they only live as long as we let them—
tack to the punctured surface of a dissecting mat,
And inspect, and label, and classify:
Every pin laid flat, glimmering against feathers and hollow, brittle bones.
Would it be enough if I brought it to you thus?
If I spread it out before you
And highlighted each raw, shuddering part and said,
"Here, here is my lust
And my need
And your face against the sunlight of the early morning."
Would it be proof enough for you, dear?
