Astrophotography- Some Of Your Questions AnsweredI have got to a point on this site that I am literally being inundated with questions about how I do some of my photos. I simply do not have time to answer them all in full individually anymore. It is seriously restricting the free time that I have to pursue this hobby and take those pictures that have become so popular (both on here and elsewhere). So for my well being and hopefully to the benefit of those who ask me so many questions, I am doing this write up.Astrophotography- Some Of Your Questions Answered3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Before I get into some questions though, I want to make a few things clear. I have spent a lot of time and money on trying to learn as much as I can to better myself with this style of photography. I love all forms of astrophotography and I really think I have found my niche. I hope to one day soon start making back a bit of that money I have spent. So I am not going to just reveal everything I have worked so hard to learn. What I am going t

Tony Ray-Jones was an English street photographer. In the early 60′s he traveled to the U.S for studying for a Master of Fine Arts in graphic design at Yale. He moved to NY after graduating and got a job as an art director for CBS records but he was determined to become a photographer. In New York he became good friends with Joel Meyerowitz and became part of the NY street photographers scene led by Garry Winogrand.
Jones kept notebooks, a journal if you'd like in which he wrote down his thoughts, lists and plans about photography. In one of those lists, titled "Approach" he listed some tips for better street photographs. These tip are still valid today and can be used as a basic guidelines to better street photography.
1. Be more aggressive- just to be clear, this does not mean at any way that you should jump into situation that could become violent! In a way, this simple

The series of 5 articles about Street Photography made by myraincheck and slightly edited by moi* ends with:
WHAT IS STREET PHOTOGRAPHY?
Trying to define a genre of photography like Street, it implies the consciousness that one definition will never be enough, or exhaustive, or able to cover the molteplicity of its possibilities and situations. Nevertheless let's try to comprehend the philosophy behind the passion for street photography.
Let's start stating that a street photo is not a photography of streets and it is not necessarily a photo taken in a street. So what does 'street' mean? Street is whatever background or surrounding, not staged, not posed by the photgrapher. And street is whatever photography which captures, explores humanity, the human behaviour, the relationships between individuals and between individuals and their surroundings.
"The essence of street photography is the impulse to take candid pictures in the

Five Grey WhalesJim and I stood on the bowsprit of my little wooden ketch and stared at the five grey whales breeching like five missiles shot from a nuclear submarine to hang suspended, their whole barnacle dotted bodies in the air, before crashing down in our direction.Five Grey Whales3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"They're headed right at us," I said, and looked at Jim. He smiled in a way he had not smiled since coming home from the Vietnam War, where he had served in the infantry, in a disciplinary battalion, while I had fought hard against the war, in the streets against police. Jim and I were angry at America, enough to have sailed away, when Jim got home, to a deserted island off of Mexico and there luxuriate in the lack of laws. Gale winds had made great waves crash against the island's cliffs, but the violence had been in harmony with the turbulence inside our souls that came from knowing that we had no place at home, within our nation's borders.

First of all I want to say I'm excited. They are finally trying to add something new in the franchise, thanks Arceus. Lets begin of how I see the pokemon history, with some of my own background.
Pokemon Green, Red, Blue were the first pokemon games that appeared in the world. Apparently, the idea of catching and collecting monsters and then using them in battles was something perfect for its time and it succeeded. Then anime was made.
I remeber that times. The world, people, literaly gone mad. Pokemon were everywhere. There was anime that everybody was/were watching, TCG,

Artists That Inspire Me 18Welcome to all reading this journal my regular feature of the work of others. apologies for the delay it is long over due indeed!Artists That Inspire Me 182 years ago in Personal More Like This
Below are the artists whose work has inspired me since my last journal entry. The selections made by no means cover everyone that deserves to be here. In time many many more will follow, as with each passing week I discover so many more talented creative people on here, that one journal entry could never do them all justice. So many of you out there are producing work that leaves me in awe, and it would be unfair of me not to acknowledge the creators of work that has caught my eye and imagination. This journal features some of the more recent works that have stopped me in my tracks. They are presented in no particular order, they are simply a selection that I believe need to be seen and acknowledged by others for their beauty, artistry and ability. I would encourage you all to visit each artist featured as I truly believe that in the DA community we learn so

American Internet Censorship Bill Part 2Yesterday I posted a journal about my thoughts on the American Internet Censorship Bill that was being voted on by the House of Representatives. Within minutes of me posting I found out that the bill was defeated by a majority vote (though a very close one). So for now our precious internet is free once again, but it also raises an entirely different discussion...American Internet Censorship Bill Part 24 years ago in Personal More Like This
A lot of the comments I saw on the various websites I went to dealt with upholding the true definition of "freedom" on the internet. It was quite apparent that a lot of people who were upset at the idea of internet censorship were more or less concerned that they might have to be held responsible for their bad behavior online.
See, we all participate in illegal activity online. If you've ever downloaded a movie, or used a torrent, or uploaded images that weren't your own, or played an emulated NES game, or even uploaded video clips from a TV show to YouTube... you're technically participating in illegal activity.

A Rant about Abstract Art:Hey there people! Let's gab about abstract art.A Rant about Abstract Art:3 years ago in Personal More Like This
To start, I hate it. I both love it at the same time. That's the nature of that art. Abstract art is meant to evoke an emotion out of you, in a minimalist way or in a complex one, that's the main goal of art in general, is to evoke emotion and responses. And I guess since i'm writing about it despite my loathing nature for the majority of it, I guess it's successful either way. So let me just blab out the main point of this.
Abstract art is often shat out by people who can't fully grasp the concept of their own work themselves. They rely on the general stupidity of the public to crap out an explanation, then they sit there and go: 'Yes. My large, purple square IS the embodiment of pure energy and the personification of the world.' Then people who see it and DON'T get a response, like the majority, rely on this sort of guilty clause to believe what some pompous dingbat shat out, and it continues on that way. WOW! I made a great picture! ON
Kony's Faith and Masturbating in PublicThis is a follow up to my previous journal entry, critiquing the Kony 2012 film - http://ivanandreevich.deviantart.com/journal/Why-I-disagree-with-Kony-2012-290079053 I was pretty surprised to find the majority of comments agreeing with me, and by the sheer number of comments. Many also disagreed, and there was lively discussion. I think that this type of debates are a great benefit to society. Every minute we spend thinking about important issues, becoming more informed about the world around us instead of watching reality TV makes this world a better place.Kony's Faith and Masturbating in Public3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This

"A co-founder for Invisible Children was detained in Pacific Beach on Thursday for being drunk in public and masturbating, according to the San Diego Police Department.

3: Shoot. A lot. Be inside the action, to feel what´s going on with small focal lenght, or step back to realize a worthy context, but never be afraid to press the shutter. Never. You´re doing nothing wrong.
1. I have a 5DmkII and an EOS300 (film). Both share the same 35mm f/2 lens. I use them almost equally.
2. I think the best camera is the one in your hand. I know it is a cliche but then again the problem most if the times is not at the camera but at the photographer.
