While photographing this area during one sunset and one sunrise, there were many different lighting conditions provided. This image was taken after the sun had been blocked by clouds diffusing the light and evenly illuminating the desert.
The shots below were taken in direct sunlight. Notice the difference?
The desert of Southern Utah has so many interesting features that it's hard to get bored of it. I've been shooting it for years and always find things I've never seen.

Cathedral Valley in Capital Reef National Park is one of the more unique environments in Utah. I took this image standing beneath the giant Monolith "Temple of the Moon" (The structure to the right of the image) In the distance is the even bigger monolith "Temple of the Sun"
Mount Sneffels contrasted by the magnificent fall colors of Southwestern Colorado. Taken about 10 minutes before the sunrise hit the peak of Sneffels.
