First, let me say that this essay consists purely of personal impressions. I apologise in advance for mixing the famous with the less-well-known, and

the truth comfits our senses not;
our gates are needle's eyes.
our vision: through with darkness shot;
unfit to pierce truth's guise.
lurking along peripheries
in places we but fail to see;
lurking along,
lurking along
is sheer, stark actuality.
the truth comfits our senses not;
we're deaf as well as mute.
we are spawn of the omniglot;
we flounder, less astute.
a siren's song of polyphones,
of hyper-sharp-sub-aural drones;
a siren's song,
a siren's song
that resonates through flesh and bones.
the truth comfits our senses not;
our mind is too finite.
everything is from nothing wrought;
without the black

when I'm not here and I've gone to seek my savior
you stare at my threshold
but never knock
when I look to the sky and point out the background beginnings
you explore the sand
and hide your feet
when I open new wounds to let life's blood investigate dark recesses
you drink your own
and stay the cycle
when I unclothe at night and walk through the dusky glade
you turn away
and stay inside
when I inquire about your feelings and ask you what's wrong
you remain stolid,
smile and reply "Nothing at all"

Look at the bats along the way
They flutter this way and that
Like so many butterflies
While you're over there
Ask the gatekeeper
Why oh why gatekeeper can you not
Let his brain do the talking?
If he mumbles an answer
Poke his right arm with a stick
He should respond by shouting
"I never asked for purgatory!"
His friend is a kangaroo with wings
It once looked at me and smiled
I smiled back but he hopped away
Making hissing noises with his teeth
And then there's that annoying blacksmith
Always pounding away at nothing
Waiting for his Mother to come back
She's been away for a while
If you ask him

And clouds pass by
I see into your thoughts
And you are laughing at me
Because you are happy?
No, you can't feel that
Because I am funny?
No, not at all
Laughter is your cover
It blankets the truth
Like snow over green grass
Early in the springtime
Inside your soul is black
Consumed by your dislike
Of all that is sacred
And all whom you have met
What changed in you?
Why does hatred dwell inside?
The fault is all your own
You can't fool me this time
One day, mark my words
The pain around you will cease
Not because you have died
But because I will have peace

(the spirit of the wolf)
the crisp night air fills my lungs,
the pale moonlight dances on my skin.
i can feel the cool breeze on my back,
i feel a stirring deep within.
the water drips out from my pores,
and pools on the earth below me.
better take a long hard look my friend,
because in a moment you wont even know me.
the smell of the fire and the sweet grass,
inviting the spirits in,
i can sense all the creatures around me,
thats how they said that it would begin.
the sacred songs rolling off my tongue,
are echoing back to me now.
those who came before come before me,
and help me survive this somehow.

Flow through my veins
Further heightened by the fact
That I'm going insane
The hair on my neck
Rises and falls with each step
As my brain picks over the memories
Of the feelings I once felt
Her cold hand touches my skin
I feel her presence near
But she's not exactly how she was
And my eyes are lit with fear
She flits around me often
Haunting my thoughts and dreams
A whisper softly tickles my ear
Nothing is as it seems
When did things go awry?
Where did I go wrong?
I loved her once, she knew it well
She could hear it in my song
Murderous rage took control that day
Overwhelmed by greed and passi

They're likely to mistreat you
Don't be so condescending
Run away from the truth
Open your eyes and spit in my face
You're the only one I'll allow
To abuse me in that way
The light is dimming quickly
Your life force begins to fade
Soon it will be over
And you will have it made

A regular flushing of your not-so-fond memories
Of cleaning my filth covered plexi-glass windows
And poo encrusted plastic rocks from the dollar store,
Come back to tell you a very simple thing;
I really hate you - especially when you ruined my sleep.
I was never dead when you decided to rip
My still rippling gills from the murky water
And into your bacteria infected clockwise whirlpool
To be flushed down into the sewage of your septic tank;
Only to spend my last moments flipping in fermented feces.
Whenever I decided to void my bowls,
I wished the plastic would turn into your distorted

But further from the truth that could not be.
Her things around the house all strewn,
Lying that she will be home soon.
Drink, drink so you remember not,
Her eyes, her hair, what got you hot.
Your brain no longer wants to sleep,
Slow motion clock and 10,000 sheep.
Dig, dig the skeleton from your past,
A new made memory doomed to last.
Her throat between your wet strong hands,
The death not part of your big plans.
Now silence screams out to be heard,
Your decision made without a word
Swing, swing until you breathe no more,
One more dead body upon the floor

take a warning take a sign
take a needle with iodine

and laugh at those who cower still

crushed like bugs as gia whines
a tremble down her weathered spine
in presence of her kindled heart
approached afar to end a start

The tree wouldnt change until tomorrow
Wait for the same dog to say hello
Just me and my shoe
I was sitting in this corner,
Thinking many things and hoping to be clever
Forgot my time was shorter
Living a live be a liar
I cried in this church,
Asked God for the path and the truth
Old woman was busy with her clutch
I hope i could touch
I met a little kitten
Died in an old kitchen
Whispered to me and got soften
You die, unburried and forgotten

where i was lost without a fight
theres something out there that knows me
theres something out there past the light
cant trust the voices in my head
nor the soft rustle of my heart
the only things i feel today
are the Mother and her art
to question all that ever was
and then to question all that's not
to question what cannot be held
to value what can't be bought
to see yourself beyond all hope
to hear the future in the night
to see the world within your eye
to win without a fight

The moon shines so pale and bright
Framed by the starlight
This is nights window
Into the heavens above
To those here below
A dotted canvas
An obsidian beauty
The hours before dawn
Then the sun will rise
A yellow globe of pure light
A new dawn arrives
In the light of day
I still will stand in wonder
Beauty of our sun
Eyes pointed upward
I stand beneath the heavens
Eternal in awe

with lies...
be brought to drain..
all thoughts insane...
such a goal..
of infinite stole...
a time in our soul..
leeched the black hole...
which sucked and ate..
and all it forsake...
till no longer a soul..
can rest in the hole..
now larger, it wash...
ove' field n' marsh....
till no place there be..
peace for the free..
till washed and gone..
all hate, and all wrong...

I am so hungry.
Why can't I be normal?
Whats wrong with me?
I want to eat,
but, I don't want to eat.
I can't breathe.
Shaking now.
I wonder what makes me like this?
Whenever did it start?
why am I such a mess!?
No, I will not eat.
But, I must.
I can't.
I have to.
I have no control.
I love me.
I hate me.
I don't know how much more I can take.
a girl can only take so much.
I am beautiful.
I am ugly.
I don't know
who am I?
Why can't I let anyone help me?
Who can understand me?
Who can break my code?
LEAVE ME ALONE!
Save me.
Go away!
help me.

The drumbeat sounds
through the dark of night
guiding my soul
my essence
through my mind
through thought
through logic
through doubts
through faith
my soul walks with strength
my spirit soars
Over adversity
over negativity
over sorrow
over dejection
Why you ask?
to be myself
to let my being be free
on mother's soft earth
under father's blue blanket
and to live among my brothers and sisters
in peace.
