I was supposed to be done with it all by today but alas I still have a few reports overdue that I have to hand in tomorrow... I am completely stressed out!500 points Giveaway!!2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
But not all of it was bad in this first month of the year...! On January 1st the incredibly sweet Gwendolyn12 gave me my 4th Daily Deviation on the piece that I hold the closest to my heart:
. . . I will wait for you . . .
:iconcryforeverplz: :iconcryforeverplz: :iconcryforeverplz: :iconcryforeverplz: I seriously had no words to describe just HOW MUCH BLISS it brought to my tiny heart ;___; I made this piece well over a year ago and I still think it's the best one in my gallery. StarCraft II is the hot tournament videogame that just may breakthrough as the harbinger of the esports phenomenon and one of the great cultural game-changers of all time.
Midnight in Anaheim. Caffeinated casters boom rapid fire commentary rattling the packed hall. Elite Starcraft players from around the globe execute complex strats that would have made Rommel the Desert Fox himself proud. 20,000 are in attendance, on the edge of their seats, and cheering as loudly as any soccer match as they watch the 30-foot screens hanging from the rafters. Another four and a half million are watching the streams live. The feeling is that of an NCAA Final Four game, set in a European soccer stadium, somehow shoehorned into a casino showroom in Las Vegas. It’s all of the skill, the fan devotion and the spectacle anyone could pos

In case you were wondering what the deal is with why certain cases of 'theft' aren't taken seriously. Pretty much sums it all up with evidence.
Also, most of us know that realitysquared isn't exactly on everyone's 'top 10' list of admins on the internet... Most of the people who have dealt with that particular admin seem to always get the short end of the stick in most cases. Even I am not too fond of them... Just sayin'.
The short story: The reason why 90% of the reports for theft aren't really fixed is because apparently "alterations, edits, traces, and references are becoming regarded as acceptable by dA" -- meaning if someone does any of these things your report will probably be partially ignored if not completely.
Your best bet would be to contact the person directly through a note and ask them to rem
The Legacy of Ken PendersAfter reading a few message boards and speaking on this topic with a few other people, it seems I should post something on this man here. No I won't rant. I'll give you what has been proven as truth. And I’ll do so as if I’m addressing the man himself. The Legacy of Ken Penders2 years ago in Personal More Like This
"Hello Mr. Ken Penders. Legally, you do have the right to be compensated for your work and writing from Archie Comics. You've gotten what you wanted from Archie for not giving you what you were due. That, is your legal right to do so, as each man is entitled compensation for work.
And yet, that is where it should have ceased.
You're suing Sega and Bioware for usage of quote unquote "your ideas." And yet...if not for the existence of Knuckles The Echidna, your Julie-Su character, the presumed “daughter of Knuckles the Echidna” wouldn't have come to pass. That's what the Lara-Su chronicles is about after all.

Proposed Changes to 3D CategoryAfter an overwhelming response to the "Split the Category" discussion, I'd like to share a proposal for a new gallery layout with you all, to get your thoughts and feedback.Proposed Changes to 3D Category4 years ago in Art Features More Like This
While the majority of people did vote for a split, A substantial number voted against, and a few very important points about not fragmenting the community were brought up.
From rummaging through the gallery and reading (and re-reading) everyone's replies, the issue seems to be finding things in the current gallery structure. So, instead of further fragmenting the community, we've restructured the gallery layout to make it easier to find what you're looking for.
Everything will STILL be under the 3-Dimensional Art umbrella. Daily Deviations will still be selected from all subcategories of 3-Dimensional Art.
Once we have the restructure organised, the next thing we'll do is start a discussion answering some of your questions on how 3D Daily Deviations are chosen, so please hold

I don’t know a huge amount about the “New 52” take on the DC universe (I stopped paying attention to DC’s output when they changed their logo to look like a half-unwrapped Acme magnet) but if the Justice League: War animation is any kind of summary, I’m glad I’ve not wasted my time.
Batman now seems to think it’s impolite if he doesn’t tell everyone who he is, Wonder Woman has taken to talking like a really, really bad Shakespearean actor and Superman is a dick.
Ignoring the animation’s terrible narrative, what struck me like a rancid kipper in the face was how god-awful the character designs were. In this instance; particularly Darkseid’s. Yeah, he wore a bucket on his head in the past, but it worked! It added to his menace as a laser-firing brick of doom. You took one look at him and you knew who he was.
Watch Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. THAT version of Darkseid is an ic

Song of war is a one on one card based dueling game for the iPhone and iTouch (and maybe a facebook app depending on how well it does). Not to be confused with card games like Magic the Gathering or Yo-Gi-Oh, Song of War uses the cards as a inventory of items. The player will be able to customize there deck to there play style, so if you like a lot of swords in your deck you will be rewarded for doing so with a effectiveness bonus to swords. This applies to all the different kinds of cards, and we have alot of different weapons to chose from. If you wanna be a hammer wielding healer, then go for it. If you to inflict devastating curses on your opponents then hit them hard with magic, then go nuts. For those just starting out it's easy to jump into, and for those that know the systems in and outs can create a deck that can obliterate their opposition! Something else that sets Song of War apart from other card based battle game is the cards them selves. The more
The Valley of the DynasaursI've recently been reading these literally unbelievable accounts, most from the late 19th to mid-20th century, of actual dinosaurs being sighted in the American Southwest, with a few reports from even further north and east in the continental U.S. There are a couple of things that strike me about these stories--I mean, first and foremost their utter improbability and the apparent sincerity of some of the witnesses (yellow journalism tall tales notwithstanding)--but also the fact that the descriptions of the dinosaurs are often so bizarre and so at odds even with contemporaneously appropriate conceptions of "actual" dinosaurs. In the same way that encounters with UFOs and their occupants often reflect a very stereotypical, cinematic or pop-cultural image of "space aliens" and their "flying saucers," the American dinosaur accounts reflect an earnestly naïve image of dinosaurs ingrained in pre-Jurassic Park pop culture--that they are cold-blooded reptilian moThe Valley of the Dynasaurs2 years ago in Personal More Like This

The Enduring Enigma of CollageFebruary 21, 2013/by techgnoticThe Enduring Enigma of Collage3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Collage is one of those art forms that immediately sets off heated debate about our most fundamental ideas and visceral feelings about the very essence of art itself.
Turn of the century troublemakers Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso began enhancing their paintings with glued on bits of cut out fabric and other materials, thus neatly blurring the line between the art categories of painting and sculpture. They shifted the emphasis or “meaning” of their painted images beyond an attempted interpretation of the painted “text” to thinking about the artists’ “process” – something wholly separate from the paintings themselves.
And with that a whole new Rubic’s Cube of basic questio

Systems of Entertainment...?As I mentioned in comments, SoE is indefinitely on hold for copyright reasons.Systems of Entertainment...?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
But there might be a way to continue the project! This was an idea sent to me by a commissioner:
"I was thinking Systems of Entertainment... since you can't release the comic for legal reasons, you could release a new Princess Samus drawing each month. For the drawing, offer a poll to decide what happens next to her and charge a few bucks for a vote. The last pic of her you released was pretty popular and I know I'd kick in five bucks a month for a new one."
What do you guys think? To me this would be doable. I might make it a "choose your own adventure" kind of thing. I'd still hold some sway over the story, but I really like the idea of it being interactive between me and all of you, considering the nature of the narrative (being about free will and all).
Would love to do this, let me know!

I've noticed that a good number of my fans happen to be aspiring artists themselves. This is for all you guys. I get asked constantly: "Where should I go to school?" "What classes should I take?" "What should I study for anatomy?" "What pencils and paper do you use?" "Should I be working digitally now instead of traditionally?" "How do I fix my poses? Learn composition? Perspective?" "When

I've bought a few of the games but alas, I lack money to buy all of them, so I gave in and downloaded an emulator for HeartGold and Black 2(might be some fanfiction on the way), So I've been bit by the pokemon bug and, with Pokemon XY, I randomly started looking up some Mega Evolution art and found some really great pokemon pieces so I'm featuring those this week
Been a while since I've done a multi-feature but here goes!
Some of these are fanart of actual pokemon, others are fakemon or fake mega evolutions.

RWBY Fanimation Series!(NOTE: I'm really bad at explaining things, so pardon the formatting/grammar/english in general)RWBY Fanimation Series!8 months ago in Personal More Like This
Hey guys, I’m writing this post to announce a new project that I’m starting in memorial of Monty. For those of you who don’t know, Monty Oum passed away about two months ago. However, his legacy and influence will continue live on. This project that I’m starting is an animation series that will be based in the RWBY Universe, codenamed/title pending Project: Beacon. It will not include the main cast for the most part (You might see them loitering around or in the background). I already have several models prepped, but I don’t want to simply use my own characters. That’s where you come in. I need characters to implement into the series and wish to use your OCs. So If you’d like for your OCs to be in the series, please link them in the comments below.
HOWEVER, there are some rules that we need to follow. (If you're not submitting a team, but som
