Love is grand; divorce is a hundred grand.
I was nauseous and tingly all over. I was either in love or I had smallpox.
The last time I was inside a woman was when I went to the Statue of Liberty.
Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. Second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience.
The great question... which I have not been able to answer... is, "What... does a woman want?"
To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down.
An archeologist is the best husband any woman can have; the older she gets, the more interested he is in her.

We met at work, where he was a driver for the courier company I kept the books for.
Wed been on nodding terms, passing ships for a while, and I think he said See you later, or some such thing and I came right back with Where? before I even realized it.
His rugged looks aroused my interest, but after the first date, a wine bar, it was his attentiveness that had me smitten. The way he would brush a loose strand of hair from my face, or hold the door open for me in that old fashioned way of his.
Hes not like other men. I know everyone says that, but its true. Hes so gentle and considerate, more patient somehow. Hes good around the house, hes not messy, and he makes love in a slow, sensual way that none of my earlier lovers ever had the time for.
Its not just that. Only yesterday he brushed part of my blouse away from a pool o

Has just one fear.
That fear that he refuses to let anyone know about, he would just be really embarrassed about it. He hates it. He hates it with a passion.
He wants it to go away but it always seems to find its way back to him. It latches on him and refuses to leave.
He's tried so many times, more than he could count, to face it.
He can't, he just can't.
It prevented him from being with so many people, people he wanted to care for but just couldn't. His fear would get jealous and get even worse.
The worst part is that he can't even tell you why he has that fear.
Maybe it's from all the times he's been rejected. Maybe it's been all the times people broke his heart. He doesn't know.
And that fear, the fear that haunts him the most.

I dont want to stay.
But I need you here! She grabbed his sleeve as he started to walk away.
Dont I matter to you anymore?
He paused, a light smirk gracing his lips.
No. You dont.
She froze; her eyes wide and about to spill over with tears she held back from the time he told her he was going to leave up until now. She had been strong enough to hold them back up until now. Now she felt like breaking.
But I thought you loved me!
Its only love. He smiled at the very soul he was crushing.
You didnt expect it to last, did you?
She looked down at her black shoes, now speckled with mud from the raindrops that had been falling for hours.
She had expected it to last. Why wouldnt it? He pledged his love to her. He promised hed stay with her until they breathed their last breath. What had she done wrong?
You were foolish

Yeah, you. Don't give me that look. I'm just talking to you, amn't I? You look sad, and I thought telling you I'm sad too would help. Or that everyone around you is crying secretly.
I know that your life is hard, but you're not the only one with some heartbreak. Everybody has some thing that they keep locked inside, something that breaks them down.
Don't believe me?
Fine. Let me tell you some stories.
See that girl over there? The pretty one with the blonde hair and blue eyes, small nose, tan skin? Carrying her math book, talking to a small posse of laughing girls? They're heading for the benches, and they're smiling like they don't have a single worry. She's one of the popular girls, isn't she? Therefore, she must be the happiest girl on earth.
Actually, she's not.
Look at her. She's skinny, right? A bit too skinny. You can count her ribs, can't you. It's because of what her mother said.
She called her fat, you know. That girl took it to heart, and she's starving herself. H
