I think banksy is a genious and wanted to make a print of one of his monkies

I made a stensil first and plan to make a notebook for a friend after learning how to do binding at work last saturday

used wood for this which has been fun experimenting with new print medium

hey yeah, i am totally influenced by the media.
but whatever, it's a different kind of liquor.
and i was at a party with a bunch of drunk adults and vapid teenagers- i had to do something with myself.

edit:
re-inked on the computer to make for easier digital coloring.
i tried coloring it with my prismas- but waterbased outlines and waterbased colors cannot keep their hands to themselves.

(i blame steph for my newfound love for the polygonal lasso tool)

Its September and we celebrate our independence on the 15th, so I decided it would be kinda neat to put up something patriotic and not so much conceptual. "El Chulon" ("the naked dude") is what we salvadoreans call this piece that represents freedom.
I just went out there and took some snapshots of the dude, heres what the complete statue/monument looks like: [link]
Hope you like
