I looked at his hands. They were extended from him, toward the viewer. It looked as if he was waiting for somebody to put something in his hands. But there was already something in his hands. My family was chained up like a chain-gang in the palms of his hands. But over his shoulder, in the distance, there I was. My back was turned, but I was looking over my shoulder at him. "Don't start with me, Damon." I glared into his dark demonic eyes.
