OuroborosThe Cycle begins at the rise of sun,
ending during the descent of the moon.
The dragon that consumes its barbed tail,
the sands of time, and wheel forever turning.
Unconscious is the flow, ascension.
Mindless is the resistance to the wheel.
But in vain, your useless endeavor ends.
It is the sand that slips through your fingers.
Nothing lies behind, but these pale memories.
What exactly is the meaning of this?
You have made life a thief and murderer.
You let the weak be denied and fall behind.
A Question buried in the cold sands
and a thousand Answers we left below.
Ashes to BlazesAshes to Blazes2 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
Lost in the darkness, feeling so cold
My life enfolds
Walking the path of horrors untold
I'm breaking the threshold
Kneeling before The Being of Old
He's looking for a heart of gold
In my life I've lost my foothold
I'm not one to extol
I'm now lost
And at what cost? At what cost?
A torment of the ages
I've burned all the bridges
So now I run from the infernal wretches
I can hear their voices
A torment of the ages
I breath in the ashes
As my journey ends in blazes

Not to be read for what it is.
Though limited to the words of few
The black river meanders the unwritten plane
And mends a riddle from rationality.
From the myths of time
to the lore of faith
A force expressed in few lines
Defines a story, an emotion, the times untold
Unfathomed in the minds of literalists
A piece written with letters less used
Save by the artists, with their eyes
See the true value of their stand.
Composed with rhythm and rhyme,
The Symphony played with pencils and pens
A Bogart to the imagination,
Tis conceived in the mind of diversity.
Be it the Abyss below or the Heavens above
The song is heard from the universe afar
Or in the dreams of restful sleep.

in a place somewhere and in some time,
there were three happy friends.
The boy and two girls
had been together since preschool.
The first was a clumsy and energetic girl,
who loved to laugh with her friends.
The second was a child-like boy,
with a constant smile on his face
The third was a shy and quiet girl,
always drawing and reading to herself.
Nothing could separate those wonderful companions.
It was on the day of August 24th that they of them
decided to take a little trip to the waterfall.
The two girls and the happy boy ate sandwhiches
and looked out to the wonderful landscape.
The three gazed down at the falling water
from the railing.
Suddenly, the energetic girl began to slip
on the water and fall.
The boy reached out like lightening,
trying his best to save her.
He gripped her hands tightly,
and turned to the shy girl
"Help me! Help me pull her up!",
The boy exclaimed loudly
The girl walked over, and calmly
looked down on the struggling pair.

He's some creature lurking in the darkness,
He's a beast out to get you when you least expect him to.
If you want to risk your life to see him,
I can't stop you but I'll tell you now I warned you.
He's got a little name for himself,
Catching girls by the dozen,
Even when they know they'll cry.
He can wrap you up around his finger,
And you'll be just like the marionette,
Always dancing against your will.
He'll tear your heart in two,
Crush you until you can't breathe.
He'll use you until you're useless to him,
A sad depiction of what you used to be,
Left out in the street to fend for yourself.
And then you'll wonder why,
You let this savage in,
Let him ravage your life.
But it will be too late,
And you'll have nothing left
But the pieces of the past.

Remember when you used to take me out to play,
With all the kids and dogs and birds,
And you told me then and there that I would go far,
That I would soar and see the world,
And I would sprout alabaster wings to save the world.
And I will never forget the day when you told me,
That I could be whatever I wanted
I got an A in class today.
I raised my hand and answered the big-girl question.
The teacher likes my thoughts and words.
She says I have a brain that's beautiful and big,
That my talents will help the world and make you proud.
And I hope that I am becoming what you want me
I tried out for a sport today just like you wanted and got on the team.
I know I'm not that good, but I'll work harder to be just like you were.
My classes are tough but I promise I'll keep trying,
And I hope you'll have time for me today when I come home.
I know you're busy, but I want to tell you about my day.
You'll probably be out with your friends, so I'll just go h

Oceans shifting to red as the lands pull away.
I pick up the sand,
but it slips through my fingers.
Footprints washed away forevermore.
I close my eyes and I see what's right in front of me.
No time to say goodbye, as the dunes shift to scarlet
Falling into an illusion, I can see what once was.
It's a deception.
So time passed.
No sounds to be heard,
As the garnet night grasps our world.

Light and dark sing,
Two voices of the paradigm,
Where the worlds of shadow and vision collide.
In the mind eye,
The voices manifest,
Of the two forms of ideal and fear.
Negativity and positivity,
Two sides of the same coin,
Shown as the light and the dark.
One screams of success,
While in counter retort the other sings,
Of the failures and the sins of man's perceived crimes.
The fears that cannot be escaped,
Manifest in the dead of night and coldest days,
At times where there is no way to run away and hide.
Yet the light retorts,
And forces away the darker shades,
Into the middle ground of the twilight.
There both sides scream,
A nightmare's chorus of choice,
With each option a war that no one can deny.
As success counter tort,
The darkness's built fort.
Flaws are echoed,
As are hopes and dreams,
The louder sounds enter the foreground.
Two sides of the same,
Twirling over and over like a spinning coin,
With the wings of white and black raven down.

Things you don't remember

Things you don't remember
or hanging up

All you remember
is lighting the fire

Sure, it's only an inch
Sure, it'll blow out

But look closely, my child.
Move up to the fire
until you can feel it breathe on your skin.
The fire burns hot.
Be careful, young one.
One touch and you will know
what I mean.

The fire burns hot.
Watch out, my baby.
It can burn skin
like you can burn dreams.
Watch out, little one.
The fire burns hot.

She'd laugh and giggle,
Play and have fun,
But she much preferred
Staying locked up in her room,
And listening to music.
Her home town was a big bustling city
Which never slept and made too much noise.
Quiet and alone,
Yet not alone,
And always yelling.
Countless ghosts haunted her,

She did not become squeamish;
In fact she loved them;

Her very own feelings.

I will kiss the red in you
