Cry to the crystal moon
As light of silver
Descends with grace
The pale river sparkles
It shivers uncontrollably
Chilled by their cries
Time is frozen
The moment slowly fades
The wolves prowl restlessly
Calling to each other
A song of wonder
Fills the air
None have heard it before
Though it is as ancient as the moon

Lit with dim light
Peering through sunglasses
Eyes hidden from sight
A face strung with tears
My vision is blinded
Clouded by fears
Salvation is fading
I turned the wrong way
Stepping into darkness
Im ready to pay
Ive all but forgotten
The ones that Ive hurt
People selfishly abandoned
Faces smashed in the dirt
Upon my creation
I was made whole
In a blood-written contract
Im selling my soul
But look all around me
Im not alone
Im surrounded by others
Were searching for home
And we will march onward
Listen for the sound
Of our tired, blistered feet
Treading on the ground
Our hearts are apathetic
Our eyes filled with distrust
But today we make a whole new life
Were leaving you in the dust

oh how we used to fall, into the sea
like fish from another world
making our way through king tides,
struggling against currents
and seeking the moon for peace.
grey is the colour of the sea (that i see)
and i imagine
if personally i belonged
to the depths of the salty world, for real
and if i drifted to the bottom,
past the giant squid and undiscovered species,
then maybe i would find treasure immaterial
not from man, but from one who created time
a playground that i would claim to be mine.
i would stay there all week or year
sinking, floating, fearing that i would have to return one day
to the place from where i came
(that i would never be the same)

The degrading level of human nature is at it's finest, and self respect is no longer accompanied by ladies and gentleman.

Christmas is a holiday for friends,
However they may be, or not, related.
Remember that the three wise kings were strangers
In search of one remote, uncanny dream.
So may we all be far more than we seem,
Together bound for dark and haunting changes,
More lovely for the loves we have created
Along the lonely paths from means to ends,
Stumbling towards that star of Bethlehem.

streams across June
like paint peeling off porch railings
buttercups go drowsy in window boxes
watching the world nod and doze
and the burr of cicada wings
rubs the still air scorched
and scars the sky
like locusts on honey
Friends ExpectationsFriends' ExpectationFriends Expectations5 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
Friends are prisoners of expectation,
Reflected in the mirror of their need.
Instead of being happy on their own,
Each knows that one cannot survive alone,
Nor think unless another plants the seed.
Dependent all for person on relation,
So to be fed, must one the other feed.

i try to draw cute pictures like animals of sorts,
i try to call her on the telephone,
but she never answers.
she never writes back,
and never talks about my cute animals.
i dont understand,
my math teacher told me when i dont understand i should use a calculator to check my work.
so here i sit with a calculator.
plugging numbers in like crazy, symbols iv never seen.
i still dont understand.
my mom says that she probably doesnt respond, or ever want to talk to me, because i dont have a girlfriend.
i thought i did.

in cool, sky blue lapis
so she would remember my eyes
and ivory so fragile
that the thin air would break,
and gold sashes to circle her thighs.
I wanted to bring her
cool orange blossom water
to feed her dates sugared in wine,
and figs ripe with honey
that sweetened her fingers
and fresh berries that burst on the vine.
I wanted to teach her
the language of lovers
in words that would capture her soul,
with lush crimson notes
and filigree silver
with a heart grown brazen and bold.

When I’m undressed,
When there’s no part of me compressed—
With glasses perched upon my nose
But no socks to cover my toes,
No more blouse buttoned too tight
Because words always fit just right,
No skirt zipped up to my waist,
My ideas just fall into place,
No belt or scarf to weigh me down,
Instead let memories wrap around.
When words can brush across my skin,
There’s no need for clothes to be in.

Did Not Oppose
By Justin Borer
In the forest on this cold, misty, moonlit night.
Nature is calm and quiet with not a soul in sight.
The silence continues, nothing trying to fight.
Then moonlight shines through the trees.
The light continues to flow like a calm breeze.
Casting shadows upon the lonly leaves.
A branch snaps breaking the somber silence.
Something in the darkness moves showing its defiance.
The forest shifts reluctantly to this act of violence.
Through the shadow the moon helps soothe.
This figure has nothing to prove.
Steathy and strong it continued to move.
The figure emerged from the darkness to cast its own shadow.
Through its grey and black fur the wind does blow.
With its pointed ears every creature it does know.
The creature sat on the ground and looked at the starry sky.
He felt alone, that, no one could deny.
through its bluish-gray eyes it wondered why.
He looked up at the bright full moon.
He let out a howl and held its desperate tune.

Now I must aspire with rancor and close my ears to the world: I must talk to myself:
Put myself on your shoes.
How difficult it must be for her to accept that loves me.
And I cannot throw myself to the tragedy, she is not the only thing in my life.
There is a belief, the only faith I profess is the confidence of eternal love, the wisdom of a bewildering passion, and I only accept as truth what I can rationally understand: you.
The nights are cold, the nights are sad. They are the tears shed when you remember that she it is not a fantasy.
And it is in those moments when you think you could do anything for her ... commit a crime. I've heard that people abandoned to death, a day before they receive a last meal. The best of their life.
And it is in these crazy things when I think I would ask one last kiss, a moment with you. The best of my life.
She is one of those g

The light was unbearable when I first woke, immediately I had to close my eyes at the glare of what I guessed to be the afternoon sun. My body ached, with every breath my lungs burned and every little movement sent shivers of pain down my spine. My throat was parched and felt like it was on fire, licking my lips with a wet tongue I twitched my fingers.
Soon I became more aware of my surroundings, what I lay on felt to be sand, not your average sand but really fine and almost soft in a way. The air was cooler then I had expected for the afternoon, slowly I tried to open my eyes.
They were dry, and I had to blink a few times to clear my vision. No, it wasnt the sun but the reflection of light that lit up the entire cave. The walls seemed to be made of a glittering material that allowed the light to bounce, though I couldnt really say what it was...

Get thee to a beverage shoppe!
Sobriety creeps to consciousness,
peeks above surface level,
retreats in fear.
O dear brew -
I love thee.
You invite a silliness not found elsewhere.
Free and lovely in timbre,
gentle and true-intended,
to wash me of cares and casualty.
Light green glass garishly cradles relief
and the scourge and fussiness of expertly applied eyeliner
(now smeared proudly).
Take these times of tired woefulness
into your tornado-warm arms.
Replace guilt with giggles,
regret with righteousness,
cold with carelessness,
and sooooooothe me.
