Well, the warforged have finally been reawakened. And with it came a great many facts that Cog did not remember about his life before being raised by Tostyn. Following the reactivation of the warforged in the "warehouse" we had discovered earlier, he was reintroduced to three of his closest companions, the warforged Blade, Wind and Dusk.
Blade is the one depicted here. He's the commander of the ground army of that particular cell (apparently there are at least two others in Faerun). He's about 7'5" and has a gigantic sword that he wields (although I didn't include it since this was more of a profile pic of Blade himself). I'll be sure to do up some action shots with him using the monsterous weapon. ANYways, hope you all like. I plan on following this up with Wind and Dusk next.
Trying to work on my inks, and also trying to re-imagine the drow, too, as more threatening - more of a society of effete, self-centered sadists. I think I got nicer inks on this stuff, not so sure about the concept part of it.
This happened recently in the D&D campaign I'm in. Cog here was attempting to fire an extremely powerful magic-destroying spell at an artifact the enemy was using. Our goal was the destroy it and thus render the enemy forces without the support of the artifact's power. Unfortunately Cog failed to activate the spell properly and instead of firing the spell outwards, it went off in his hand. Luckily the artifact was still destroyed, however Cog was transformed from a Warforged into a human. It was a pretty intense session.
Thought the long vertical format was interesting. I also am kinda interested in this mostly flat grayscale coloring - it's quick, but still adds some visual interest and it's easier to work on just contrast.
Just some goblins about to get a very unpleasant surprise.
Here's Cog, back and better than ever. Our favorite warforged has just recently got his mechanical body back with an unfortunate cost. Cog's patron/foster father Tostyn (the Mercury Dragon) ended up giving up his life essence to give Cog his warforged body back.
While everyone initially resisted (Maltep going one step further and leaving the party), the hard reality was ever present and the deed was done. Luckily, Tostyn's essence fused with the transfer and he will always be with his foster son in spirit.
