Tripoli: what IS going on?
It's no longer a surprise that a media war is being waged against Gaddafi and Libya. In March, all news were breaking and highly contradictive towards each other. A month passed until Libyans finally learned to disprove the lies, but while the news themselves grew relatively neutral, a new wave of misinformation was being prepared.
It arose in global media approximately on 15th of August, when a Saudi Arabia newspaper Asharq Alawsat told that Gaddafi is allegedly ill and ready to leave the country. Saudis, mortal enemies of Muammar Gaddafi, were, of course, such a reliable source, that all other papers followed.
In the same time news channels were choking with new victories of the insurgency. It looked like it took rebels a couple of hours to occupy a city, making poor Moussa Ibrahim steam from his ears, proving to journalists that it is virtually impossible. All this show was a careful preparation for the main course the taking of Tripoli. But in spite of mercenaries parachuted

Inventor of Implantable Pacemaker
Dies at 92
By BARNABY FEDER
Published: September 28, 2011 on The New York Times
Wilson Greatbatch, a professed “humble tinkerer” who, working in his barn in 1958,
designed the first practical implantable pacemaker, a device that has preserved millions of lives,
died on Tuesday at his home in Williamsville, N.Y. He was 92.
His death was confirmed by his daughter, Anne Maciariello.
Mr. Greatbatch patented more than 325 inventions,
notably a long-life lithium battery used in a wide range of medical implants.
He created tools used in AIDS research and a solar-powered canoe,
which he took on a 160-mile voyage on the Finger Lakes in New York to celebrate his 72nd birthday.
In later years, he invested time

affiancarsi all'immagine di uomini come Giovanni Falcone e Paolo Borsellino fa molto comodo,

Thanks to MARX77 for the tip!
If you had to quickly flee both your home and country, what one possession would you make sure you take with you? It’s a question that reveals a lot about your life and values, and, unfortunately, is one that many people around the world actually have to answer.
NYC-based photographer Brian Sokol has been working on a project supported by the UN Refugee Agency titled “The Most Important Thing.” It consists of portraits of refugees in which the subjects pose with the one thing they couldn’t let go of when running away from home.
Sokol started the project in Sudan. More than 100,000 refugees have crossed the border between Sudan’s Blue Nile state and South Sudan’s Upper Nile state since November of 2011. Many of the refugees fled on a moment

Understanding JihadUnderstanding Jihad2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
The word "Jihad" is derived from "Jahada" and "Ijtihad"
which both are synonymous to success and striving for a good moral conduct.
It is a pure misconception that non-Muslims
carry even Muslims that Jihad is a holy war.
Holy war in Arabic transliteration goes like this "Harb Muqadassa"
and it is found nowhere in the holy Qu'ran.
Jihad has many levels.
The most important form of Jihad is the personal one.
Which means striving to make yourself a better person
and resisting the evil temptation within one's self which includes:
lying, stealing, engaging one's self in adultery and loose sexual whims.
If a student is passing an exam or a patient going through surgery
he is doing personal Jihad by striving to become better or achieve satisfactory results.
It does not mean to kill any human being be him a muslim or a non-mus

I just received a Note from Heidi informing me that they've heard word of my Warm Winter Project and that at the time of my purchases, deviantART would like to match me the amount of hoodies on their behalf!!! This means if I reach my goal of 50, I get 50 more! And if I don't, I get just as many from dA as I can myself!!!!! The awesomeness and appreciation I feel could never have enough emotes to describe!!! :iconimtoohappyplz:
With this many extras, not only will I be able to donate to a shelter in Savannah, I'll also be able to have some to carry with me while driving around Jacksonville, where the issue of poverty is much, much worse, and I'll be able to help out those who can't even be taken into a shelter that's too crowded!!
Thank you to Heidi, grieves05, and thank you EVERYONE at dA HQ!!!! :

You want me to surrender to the gun?
And just let you have your fun?
Who do you think I am?
Your Slave U.S.A, the one that you have fooled by your propaganda lies?
You underestimate me
Have you forgotten who I am?
Let me remind you
I am PALESTINE!
And I have All Mighty Allah on my side
I carry the flag of
"La illaha illa Allah"
"There is no god but Allah"
You think you have weakened me
But you don't understand
You have only strengthened me
You swim in my people's blood
Blood of innocents of the young and old
While America feeds you bread
To have another child dead
And yet you claim I am the terrorist?
You can fool the world but you can't fool God!
My faith and trust in Him will never be buried for it will never die
I hold on to patience because i know soon revenge will be knocking on your door,
Not from me, but from the one who created you and me!

back to rubble of my own
back to family
back to bury corps
back to life
back to city of ghosts
But when your bombs fall from the sky
I ducked but I didn't knee
When I lost my home and my family
I cried but without tears
As I bleed, as I breath
As you kill, as you flee
I'm the strong, you are the weak
Everything that we are will always be the same
Everything you think you are that is to change
Back to your home
Back to where u don't belong
back to your family
someday you'll learn something about my loss
back to your life
back to peace of shame and dishonor
To be continued...
