Truth is, I Actually Hate Art.I knew it was going to happen eventually, but it still irks me when a site like KnowYourMeme.com posts a video to one of the more shameful bits of art school semantics called "Interior Semiotics."Truth is, I Actually Hate Art.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
In a nutshell, it's a video performance of a female student rubbing rancid Spaghetti-O's over her body, into her genitals, and then urinating into the can. Now, insane is as insane does, and we can't really judge a person's character when they are clearly messed up as all in the head. But the thing that makes this video especially disgusting, particularly nauseating, is the crowd's reaction.
Oh right. There's a crowd watching.
The debate has raged on for the longest time as to whether something is or isn't art. The way I see it, by declaring something isn't art, it has automatically been made into art. Art is supposed to instigate thinking, debate, opinion, and/or alternative perception of a subject. By contemplating the artist

The one percent of people actually contributing to the humanity. I'm a self-sustaining member of the society, a functioning part of the system. I consume what is producted so that the manufacturers and labour workers produce. I use public and social systems, which justifies the existence of these systems and their functioners. I produce myself - intellectual media content that helps people make their choices considering products and services, I advertise and de-advertise.
In a nutshell, I get money for all this, after which I can spend them on other things, once again injecting the money into the well, system. Oh, and I served my country as military personell. Free of charge, might I add.
I bought my education for money. I pay for my living place. I even pay taxes - at least from that part of my salary that's "official". I'm not rich enough to buy a car without a couple of years worth saving or my own flat, but

They took me for my bio-mechanical ship designs, and then I was given an oportunity of a lifetime. To try and model something based on a drawing.... I hit the main shape. Back then I only knew basics of Zbrush and it looked very messy and totally unprofessional. But they saw some potential in me I guess, and they taught me everything I know about 3D now. Made some of my life dreams come true!!!
In few years time some years were somewhat paid, some were not,but we managed to hold through....the whole thing is a true labour of love.
So please check this out,the one and only, true MMORTS ,and please share it with everyone you know. Because we need some help to make this a truly awesome game!
StarGate SG1 - But For Real!REPLICATORS! Ring any bells?StarGate SG1 - But For Real!5 years ago in Personal More Like This
Look at your computer setup and imagine that you hooked up a 3D printer. Instead of printing on bits of paper this 3D printer makes real, robust, mechanical parts. To give you an idea of how robust, think Lego bricks and you're in the right area. You could make lots of useful stuff, but interestingly you could also make most of the parts to make another 3D printer. That would be a machine that could copy itself.
RepRap is short for Replicating Rapid-prototyper. It is the practical self-copying 3D printer shown on the right - a self-replicating machine. This 3D printer builds the parts up in layers of plastic. This technology already exists, but the cheapest commercial machine would cost you about 30,000. And it isn't even designed so that it can make itself. So what the RepRap team are doing is to develop and to give away the designs for a much cheaper machine with the novel capability of being able to self-copy (material costs are about 500). T
