The air was perfumed with the stench of dark bitter liquor distilling through salted skin. The smell floated throughout the closet-sized room that lacked windows and mingled with the musty smell of coal dust. The room was dark, but small cracks through the beaten and rusted door cast beams of brilliant light across the room. Dust particles danced in rays as they illuminated the darkened wooden floor, covered with a fine black dust, and scared from years of boot-heals and discarded iron tools. The dust flittered up the wooden walls before finally resting on the mounded figure held up in the burlap and canvas hammock in the corner. Macha's eyes cracked open, and with a piercing shot through her head, snapped shut again. She cursed the sun, the liquor, and the stilled steam-powered airship in which she resided.

Waiting for the moment
We couldn't have been saved
Your eyes lock with mine
The world begins to fade
I had the chance to get away
But you caught me in your net
Struggling for life
This isn't over yet
Wrap you in my arms
Pull us face to face
Couldn't have seen the blade in your hand
Caught up in love's embrace
You remove the knife from my back
I'll pull it from your chest
A good way to die?
This one is the best
Pools of blood spread on the floor
Bonded by an oath
From the moment that i saw you
I knew this love would kill us both.
MissingThe worn, yellowed paper in her hand felt ten times heavier than it should have. It curled against the salty breeze, making her hold on to it tighter. The mist coming off of the waves settled over the young woman, but she didn’t move from where she stood, despite the fact that the water felt icy on her skin. Her brown eyes gazed blankly over the water, not noticing how the sun’s light glinted off of it, not noticing the deserted sandcastles that the children had made. Not noticing the visitors starting to leave the beach, the happy families, with husbands and sons and brothers back from the war. They were complete.Missing2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
The large boat rocked slowly in the ocean water, far from the pier where it was supposed to stay. On it, a young boy of about fourteen tossed a beach ball to a girl two years younger. She dove for it, catching it clumsily, but catching it nonetheless. “Hey!” the boy called, a smile on his face. “If you keep going on like that, you

"Bri... smelled... cake batter... gross" I catch as he mumbles into my shoulder.
"Cake batter?" I ask.
"That girl" he pulls himself off me and makes a face. "Smelled like cake batter. It was so over powering and gross" he adds.
"You sure do use your nose a lot, hm?" I say. He laughs.
"I do. I love smells. And scents cant lie to you like sights and sounds can." he further explains. "I wish I could show you" he adds and I smile. "It's the greatest feeling."

London, September 2011.
A tall and thin man was leaning against a wall in the London underground. In the crowd of the busy station nobody seemed to notice him, or at least suspected he wasn't normal. He loved London. Somehow in any other city his unusual dark clothing was suspicious, but it seemed that in his hometown he could not be seen if he wanted. That fact made it much easier to hunt. His hands were in his pockets and he was wearing a chique hat and sunglasses. If people actually thought about it, it was strange that the man was wearing those sunglasses in the already dark underground, but it seemed that no one did. Humans are slow but busy creatures. They constantly load themselves with a terrifying amount of tasks. How many things they would notice if they would actually stand still, look around and think about what they saw. Think about what was happening and why. The citizens of London just didn't... The man slowly breathed in. He could smell every human within a mile from hi

What it is is your mind plotting against you,
Everything is wrong, and slowly passing too
seems like, no matter how hard you try you can't seem to find the road again,
And you sit up, and get up, and whip your tears, but you can't pretend
Like your heart's not really breaking,
Like your hands aren't really shaking.
5 in the morning, you're still up thinking,
and as you fall asleep your heart is syncing
You watch the rain slide down the window cill,
Like Your tears as you swallow another pill.
And you don't know if you can take much more of this,
But is is What it Is.

We cry for you
We look to the sky as it darkens and cools
the snow blisters our hands and redens our
cheeks...we know that we will die in the night
and we look to our family's and friends who are
huddleing for warmth and say
"We need a gurdian angle to save us"
Thats when a man in a large coat and ranger armor
comes over the hill he dose not hold his weapon to
us or show fear when we threaten him he only walks
to the youngest child and gives him his own coat, and
turns to the mother and hands her his armor,he then
takes off his shoes and give them to me,then he hands
my comrads his weapons and says
"There is a station ahead you can make it there and
spend the night"
And only draws his blade and unholsters his pistol
and fires at the monsters showing no fear or spite
only a slight smile as if he knows how much we need
this he only winks at us and nods that is when I
thank god and fall to my knees but when I lift my
head to thank him...he is gone and we are in the cold
but we feel nothing

"The stars lean down to kiss you, and I lie awake and miss you. Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere."
I couldn't help but smile up at the stars, well, all the ones you can see through the lights and haze of another Denver night. Though I leaned against the cold metal railing of our condo's terrace, in my mind I danced to music that had leaked down from the cosmos, my heart exploring far away planets for something that it would never find. That one little piece that had me on the edge of breaking. My lips tingled from the bitter-sweet memories, memories that are twirling between dreams and reality. They're memories that I've lost track of whether they are dreams or reality, and are buried deep in the abyss of my soul. They taste strangely like strawberries. Slowly, but surely, everything starts to melt together, slipping away silently like a storm in the night, leaving my soul to reach for the sapphire sky. Everything empties my mind, everything but you.

Don't know the person inside it and that's never been any clearer
I miss your family and I miss all our friends
If you had it to do over would you do it over again,
Cause I would, this meant something more to me
There's a hole in my heart where you used to be
I still wish you the best of luck, baby
And don't go thinking this was a waste of time
I couldn't forget you if I tried
You killed what was left of the good in me
I'm tired so let me be broken
Look down at the mess that's in front of me
No other words need be spoken
And I've got nobody else to blame though I tried
Kept all of our past mistakes held inside
I'll live with regret for my whole life
I confess that I brought this all on myself
Condemned to suffer alone, like there's nobody else
When you're gone, it's like a whole part of me's missing
So I'll keep living the lie and just

My story is one that will never be told
Because of my sins my soul has been sold
To us innocent we obey the law
But who says its ok to start a war
The ten commandments we once did obey
Now a commandment is broken everyday
Thou shall not lie and thou shall not steal
Are just some broken never to heal
To make us happy or to give us a thrill
Can be as easy as taking one little pill
Happiness that will last through the whole of a night
When it's all over who'll carry the light
Who will guide us when the light dies down
When our hands feel tied and our hearts feel bound
Now I look to the gods for salvation
I hope to be release from all my temptation
Temptation from all the sins I feel inside
And from all the sins I can no longer hide
Tears will always fall down this untold face

Its so close but out of my reach
But forgiveness will always be preached

but i am torn, do i take back memories I'd
Or walk away and tell myself "never"
I love you, brave knight, i do admit
but sometimes, there's a limit
of how much love can fit into a heart
because that heart, will part.
Never forget me, i beg of you,
for my heart will mend, and need filling too
I might be Juliet
and you might be Romeo

This vivid memory I can never forget.
I left, I could take no more.
I thought maybe death would settle the score.
Such thoughts make my tears run dry.
I did not even speak, much less cry.
I knew this day would come too soon.
Our love used to be a beating tune.
I heard the clocks hit midnight.
Then and there my love went, out of sight.
Our love was our curse.
To blind to notice we were driving this hearse.
I had no emotion, to my knees I did not fall.
Our love was buried, casket and all.
I watched as you wept.
Watching every part of you shake as you stepped.
Our eyes met for the last time.
It was the last time I felt you were mine.

I know they're not true--
Just upsetting to you.
I don't want to die.
But a smile's a lie.
What I tell you is fake.
A sugar coat, for your sake.
I cannot stop crying.
I feel I'm done trying.
Then I remember you all
And step back from the fall.
She StrumsShe strums them. Her guitar. It is late, but she doesn't care nonetheless. She wants, desires to be free and you can hear it as she plays. The long, rythmatic notes echo from the base of her beautiful instrument. Different sounds, noises she plays. She gets into it, rocking her head with every beat. She loves it and the rhythm of rock vibrates the building. Electricity-inspired lightning storms through the sky and hits all around the house, shattering the floor, yet still she plays. She plays till her heart falls out, beating for mercy and life on the floor. Yet still she plays, not caring a bit in the world what others think. She does it for herself. That is all. Sure she likes spreading inspiration and the feel of music, rock to her admirers, but this is not why she plays. The roof lights up and the house burns with flames as she rocks it, plays she is playing, and she plays. She Strums2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

Who would've thought,
That I'd miss it oh so much.
This empty space has grown cold,
And I know,
I know that this is getting old.
But I can never feel the way I did,
When you laughed with me like we were kids again.
You told me all your memories ,
Said; 'Would you like to make some more with me?'
I couldn't say no to those deep blue eyes,
And I guess you had a change of heart,
Because now here we are,
All these memories that you'll forget,
I'll hold onto them, hoping you might come back
Because I can't let go of you,
No not just yet.
And I know that this is getting old,
The most repeated story ever told,
About love and the loss
But who's to say.
That you'll never tell a story like this someday.

Now it's rolled it's way through Vukovar
To Banja Luka for Greater Serbia
Wave the flag political minority
Killing fields or death camps
Which will you leave?
Washed away by the darkest tide
Ethnic cleansing, it's genocide
History lessons we don't see
Just how blind can we be?
It hasn't stopped
It just goes on endlessly
Xenophobic coward's hate
And a quest for selfish gain
Keep marching on with the same old pain
Ten thousand years we've tripped along
No group can keep it's nose clean long
My tribe, my church, my prophecy,
My bloodthirsty racist policy
Name them, frame them, blame and claim them
Then round 'em up so we can maim them
Washed away by the darkest tide
Ethnic cleansing, it's genocide
No tyrant performs atrocities alone
Who are the creatures that fill the ranks?
And gnaw the bones?
Inhuman animals or twisted evil freaks
