Massive Art TheftI've dealt with art theft in the past, but usually it's been done by kids who didn't know any better, or from people who just saw my art and decided to use it for a t-shirt or something without asking. Nothing too serious. But this is the first time I've heard of such a giant mainstream art theft scam, and worse yet, it's coming from a rather well known person.
Chad Love Lieberman, nephew of Democratic Presidential Candidate Joseph Lieberman, created a website called Art4life.com which was selling "original" artwork for hundreds to thousands of dollars. The only catch is that the "original" artwork... was all work stolen from other artists, most from here on DA.
Now thankfully the website Art4love.com has been taken down due to copyright infringement. But then almost immediately MakeYourSpot.com was put up with almost the exact same stuff for sale. That site ALSO has been taken down, but with this guy's track record I wouldn't be surprised if another 3rd site came up to compensate.
deviantART's 11th birthdAy approaches! The end of July draws ever near, which means our 11th birthdAy is right around the corner! On August 7, 2011, deviantART will officially celebrate its eleventh year on the Internet. Instead of spending a mere 24 hours observing this holiday, we're taking one whole week to show our love and appreciation to the community.deviantART's 11th birthdAy approaches!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Starting on August 1st, we'll be hosting Deviants Appreciation Week, a full 7 days of events leading up to the big 1-1 on Sunday, August 7th. During this time, we'll be having parties in dAmn and in the Forums, contests and games galore, and super special announcements sprinkled throughout the week. We've got something festive planned each day as our way of giving back to the amazing community we're proud to serve everyday.
For a taste of what's to come:
We're starting the week off by honoring one super deviant with the monthly Deviousness award and one of our own with the yearly Bolt Award. And, jus
deviantPOINTS: An updateOver the past few months we’ve been keeping a watchful eye on the way that members in our community have been offering points as payment for certain types of services within deviantART. We’ve seen all sorts of creative uses, from offering to critique your work for a few points, journal features for a few more points and my personal fav -- avatars, journal skins and any other sort of art commission for points. It’s been great to see deviants use their experience and skills to fund their super group upgrades, prints purchases and even treating their friends and families to their very first item of deviantWEAR.deviantPOINTS: An update4 years ago in Personal More Like This
As time rolled on, we noticed a new trend creeping in. People were not just offering a small number of points for a task that they’d normally do as part of their daily deviating -- people were offering thousands of page views for hundreds of points, and there seemed to be no limit to the amount that could be purchased, or offered. Internet TimeWe had the Oscars recently and as usual it wasn't without problems. One of the controversies was Chris Rock's biting commentary about doing voice work for animated films, which was unfortunately insulting to the many hard working (yet perpetually unknown) talents who produce about 90% of all voice work in the animated medium. Chris Rock's joke was funny for his circle of friends and the aging academy, but to younger artists and professionals it was very disrespectful. Voice actress Tara Strong took particular issue with Rock's comment and as we speak his twitter account is no doubt being flooded with angry hate messages and likely racism too... which is very unfortunate. http://www.examiner.com/african-american-entertainment-in-national/tara-strong-attacks-chris-rock-over-oscar-2012-animation-comments-quotesInternet Time3 years ago in Personal More Like This

The Derpy Issue Part 4 (final)Alright, so now we get to the crux of the matter. Hasbro has finally made a statement:The Derpy Issue Part 4 (final)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"The 'My Little Pony Friendship is Magic' series has always been about acceptance and inclusion, and the series strives to convey that through the playful antics of a diverse cast of characters. Some viewers felt that aspects of the episode 'The Last Roundup' did not stay true to the core message of friendship which is the heart and soul of the series. Hasbro Studios decided to make slight audio alterations to this single episode."
NOW would be the appropriate time to start getting all freaked out over this issue. Personally, I am not going to worry too much. I am disheartened that they've chosen to respond this way, but I am not surprised. Hasbro is a corporation, they have to think of their image. "Derpy" is a debatable term that can either mean "goofy and silly" or "insulting towards disabled people" and frankly I agree that this is not an appropriate word to be used for a kids TV show
Facebook Art Theft AppThere's a facebook app which essentially takes comics from around the web and puts them all together in one place. However, it bypasses links to the original source material and even worse it encourages users to donate to the creator of the app.Facebook Art Theft App3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Essentially this guy is making money off us web comic creator's hard earned work that we normally give away for free.

I've reblogged this on tumblr and made a post about it on facebook. Please try to spread the word about this if you can.
EDIT: The app's name is not Something Positive. That's actually one of the comics the app is stealing from. Apparently the app changes it's name depending on the comic it's ripping off. There are about 161 web artists (not all necessarily comic related) who's work are being misused.
Tip of the Day: Dealing with StressStress is the root for many health problems. It's not necessary. Just do what you need to do. Stop stressing.Tip of the Day: Dealing with Stress3 years ago in Personal More Like This
In high pressure situations if I start stressing I will think what is the worst that could happen and how could I bounce back from that. Once I see that I would still be ok and be able to come back from that difficulty... then the stress disappears. Then I start imagining what would it feel like to be successful and that gets me excited to continue towards my goals.
Stress is something that everyone deals with in their own ways but if you don't have an effective way to deal with it, feel free to try my method.

Hyping It Up Before It Exists
A lot of people will put up promotional artwork, covers, character references, and other related work for their comic before putting up a single page. People often say if you want to write a book or you want to lose weight, it's best that you not tell anyone. When you tell someone you plan on doing something, they will praise you for it. The problem is, you are now receiving praise for something you haven't actually done yet. You don't have to work for that praise; the mere act of saying you will do something rewards you the same external way you would get for actually doing it. Sadly the result is many people are content to stop there. It's not even a conscious decision, but a lot of people will get caught up in the hype without realizing how hard making a comic actually is. Hold off putting up anything related to your comic until you at least have a few pages up; it wil
Breasts and NipplesBreasts being gender specific is a myth. Breasts are fat deposits and nothing more (or implants). What of women with very small breasts, or breast cancer survivors who have none, or women with artificial breasts, or men with implants, or women with prominent pectoral muscles, or men with oversized pecks, or obese men with full large pendulous breasts, or men with hormone irregularities, or transgendered individuals, or third gender individuals, or lactating male infants? At what age does the nipple become obscene? Puberty? 18? What if the breasts are covered but the fabric is see through? What if the body is painted? Maybe in latex? Why does a nipple pasty make a breast suddenly inoffensive? It is the nipple after all that we all share in common. Speaking of common, women have always outnumbered men on this planet, so why is the majority of the world's population taught that their bare torso is an obscenity?Breasts and Nipples2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Since I've returned to making SYAC again there's been a bit of a resurgence of trolls. There are a lot of fake accounts floating around out there with my name attached, and many of them are posting alternate SYAC strips and my old fetish work. While they are fairly obvious to spot, just to be safe I am writing to remind everyone that these accounts are not mine.
DeviantArt has made it more complicated to report copyright infringement issues, and I simply don't have the time to sift through the troll's gallery of re-uploads, find the original URL's (if any even exist anymore), and file DMCA on each and every post. It takes weeks to get anything accomplished and it wastes the time of DA moderators who have to sift through those individual reports. And even if I am successful in getting the troll banned, they'll just create a second account and come right back with another bucketload of altered art and start all over again. As I have been made aware by at least 300-ish notes, Chad Love Lieberman has illegally taken many artworks from deviantart including mine, trying to sell them for thousands of dollars on their art4love.com and MarkYourSpot.com websites.

Screenshots from the now shut down website:
Urls are owned by Chad Love Lieberman and Craig Pravda.

I hope you're well, and will try to post more art soon. Feel free to discuss below your opinions on the matter, and I'll try to reply. My answer goes far beyond "I've just been busy!" and maybe you too will connect with how I've felt:
The other day I received an email from a fellow follower of my work, asking the question of why I left Facebook. Not that everyone should know my daily activities, but if you haven't noticed, a couple of months ago I had deleted my FB in order to focus on my property LMS, as it's shaping up for film, and the next book in the series, LMS: Welcome to America

Words consist of adjectives that describe both physical and personality traits, others are color combinations, and a few are simple open ended names/titles. For each of these, the challenge is to design a character, creature, race, costume design, or whatever else strikes your fancy. Work in order, pick and choose, the idea is to have fun and expand your creature design work.

A relative got a message through the door over Christmas. It was an envelope containing what looked like a page torn out of a magazine. The recipient's name was hand-written on the page as part of a note, singing the praises of the product, how they had tried it, etc. The whole thing was a fake, a very, very clever one, perhaps obvious to the more media-savvy out there, but it caused said relative a bit of head-scratching.
A less obvious ad which has come to my attention is a viral video. It's a montage of CCTV footage that captures a number of people being nice to one another. Hugs, kisses, people helping one another. It'd be a great feel-good clip if it weren't for the fact it's a viral for Coke that plays on your emotions in an effort to peddle their sugar-laced-discharge: http:/

Watch this advertisement against same-sex marriage in Washington State.
I have no words.
Okay, actually, I do have some words about the ad.
Same-sex marriage (aka MARRIAGE) is the topic here, in response to an advertisement by the folks against R-74 that was shared by a relative of mine. . The ad was full of just so much… so much bull. I had to write a 4 page long answer to it.
-"Marriage is rooted in biological facts of nature." By that argument, so is polygamy, cannibalism, and murder.
-Sexual behaviour is not the same thing as sexual orientation. A study by the New York City Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene reported in 2006 that: "Of the straight-identified men, 9.4% reported having sexual intercourse with at least 1 man (and no women) in the year before the survey." They also reported, "Approximately 70% of straight-identified men who have sex with men reported being married."

When I was pregnant with my first child, I just thought that circumcision was what you did, no big deal, and that every man was circumcised. Then one day I saw a picture of a baby being circumcised, and everything changed. Just one tiny, grainy photo was enough to make me want to know more, and the more I knew, the worse it got. It turns out, circumcision really is a big deal.

PROTECT-IP is a bill that has been introduced in the US Senate and the House and is moving quickly through Congress. It gives the government and corporations the ability to censor the net, in the name of protecting "creativity". The law would let the government or corporations censor entire sites-- they just have to convince a judge that the site is "dedicated to copyright infringement."
The US government has already wrongly shut down sites without any recourse to the site owner. Under this bill, sharing a video with anything copyrighted in it, or what sites like Youtube and Twitter do, would be conside

In terms of the Stock and Resources gallery, directly refers to the "rendering" of 3d digital work with the use of a render engine. Below is a little more info!
From the prepared 3D scene, rendering is the final process of creating the actual 2D image. A great example of this process can be taking a photo or filming the scene after the setup is finished in real life. Several different, and often specialized, rendering methods have been developed. These range from the distinctly non-realistic wireframe rendering through polygon-based rendering, to more advanced techniques such as: scanline rendering, ray tracing, or radiosity. Rendering may take from fractions of a sec
