Everyone loves Bill Paxton as Private Hudson in Aliens, and here’s my tribute to him. James Cameron filmed almost that entire fight scene in reds and blues, two colours that psychologically have the deepest impact on people. Download for full size.
I referenced three still frames from my DVD copy of Aliens - one for the pose, one for the lighting, and one for the facial expression (it's actually from the scene in the cafeteria with Bishop's knife trick); made some changes like overemphasizing the Pulse Rifle and getting rid of most of the video cam harness. My apologies for the Motion Blur, I'd have preferred not to use any filters, but, meh, it's Sunday so I'm lazy.
To this day Aliens remains one of my favourite films, and the impact of it on video games, pop culture, and other films is evident; interesting the extent to which it was based on the Starship Troopers novel, and interesting as well the attempt at the end to represent on film the ‘Mobile Infantry’, when Ripley uses that exo-suit to fight the Alien Queen. Odd that the Starship Troopers film never even made that attempt – I guess it would’ve been too expensive.
Anyways, a friend of mine really inspired me recently to get back into comic creation, and you can see the style I'll be working with in this Aliens tribute (PS. go see Huw's work and buy it [link] , it’s very funny and totally worth the money); maybe in a few years I’ll have completed my first Drunken Rakshasa comic.

German 9th Army, particularly the XLVI Tank Corps Walter Model, The 9th Army's attack in the north fell far short of its objectives on 5 July. The attack sector had been correctly anticipated by the Red Army's Central Front.
It remains both the largest series of armored clashes, including the Battle of Prokhorovka, and the costliest single day of aerial warfare in history. It was the final strategic offensive the Germans were able to mount in the east.
