A mount. Nothing more than some vanity item for some idiotic human mage. She had screeched when she had recieved him, unknowingly taking away his life and his ambitions. As soon as they had fastened the saddle on his back and the reigns on his maw, he knew that his once-admirerers would be howling with laughter at his plight. It wasn't made any better by the fact that the saddle hurt when they put it on, causing him to let out a low groan of pain. The humans had laughed at him, of course - black dragons were never any mortal's favorite, and to put one through such agony was like giving a child candy.
"Oh!" Her face had literally lit up when she saw him bound with leather reigns and leashes,

A Sad Sort of Melancholy Melody
By: George Sand
Where should I start but here? I sit here alone, at Frederyks old piano which faces the window. I will not touch the keys and butcher their musicality with my non-ability to harmonize, or play music in general. Right now, there are tears running down my face, and words dying on my lips. However, these words shall live on paper. This short story is meant only for one pair of eyes: mine. But I should start with the background.
Chopin was my friend, and I did love him, more than I have ever loved a man- yet I had basically thrust him into the arms of another with my big mouth and my in

Told to Legolas's POV
Also known as Bad Habits, Chapter 1
Legolas closed his eyes and tried to trick the ranger into thinking he was asleep.
Legolas, I know you are not asleep! the ranger said in an annoyed tone. Although the elf did not notice, his fingers were in his mouth, and he was chewing on them. Grow up and stop biting your nails! came the same annoyed voice. Aragorn really was getting irritated.
Legolas sat up. Hadnt his father said almost the same thing when he was young? He rolled his eyes. Oh brother, he muttered to himself in Silvan. He knew the only other person in the group who might be able to understand him was Aragorn, who was glaring at him.
Legolas, the ranger said more quietly, I cant believe you havent gotten over that! It has been many years, mellon-nin.
I know. And I still havent figured out why I do it, the blonde elf replie

The sun rode just above the horizon, turning the sky into ribbons of fire. The light skipped across the surface of the bay's clear blue green depths, leaving trails of glittering diamonds as it went.

It was morning in Dragonblight. The sun began to peak above the mountaintops. The snow sparkled like pure diamonds. Animal life began to stir from their protected homes. The powerful storm yesterday brought had vanished as quick as it appeared. It was safe once again to roam the arctic lands of Dragonblight.
The Ruby Dragonshrine stood silent. The chilling winds of Northrend brushed against the crimson leaves of the majestic tree in the middle. However, the silence was not broken by this, nor was it broken by all of the people slowly entering the sacred ground. The sun shined down on the dragonshrine, saturating it in a full spectrum of colors and hues.
They all were adorned in black formal clothing and not one soul bore a smile on their face. There had to be hundreds of them. There were leaders of the Horde, Alliance, and the Wyrmrest Accord. They all surrounded the great tree. Among them stood Varian Wrynn, Jaina Proudmoore, Alexstrasza, Korialstrasz, Garrosh He

I'm so proud.... that you are my son." Varian reached up with his bloody hand and touched his son's face, leaving a bloody smear. "Do not mourn for me. How To Make Eragon AwesomeWhat follows is my personal idea for how Paolini can make up for all the mistakes he made in his first three books. How To Make Eragon Awesome3 years ago in Academic Essays More Like This
If you've read my previous two essays you know all the reasons I have for disliking the Eragon series. It's plagiarized, it's awkwardly written, it's full of really creepy moments, the main character is a horrible Mary Sue, and so on. You also know all the ideas I had for how Paolini could have fixed these problems before his books went to print.
But all that advice I gave is pretty much pointless in the end. The first three books have been printed, it's too late to change them. However, the fourth book has not been released yet. There's still time to make one big change that, I believe, will make everything we've had to suffer through so far completely worth it.
I'm sure Paolini couldn't care less about these essays I've written and likely doesn't even know they exist. But on the infinitesimal chance that he does, let me just say that I give him official permissio

Arthas' power waned. Death-Howl and several of his more intelligent comrades could feel it. The Scourge war-machine had found itself back in southern Lorderon.
The mighty worgen trotted beside his "master" like any loyal hound would; the beast lifted up his head and sniffed. His fur bristled as he emitted a low growl.
"Silence, mutt." Arthas snapped. The fallen prince urged Invincible to move forward.
Death-Howl stayed in place, listening to something in the shadows.
"Where is that damn banshee!?" Arthas growled to himself.
Death-Howl's ear twitched. "MASTER!!" the worgen shrieked as he lept off his hind legs and tackled Arthas to the ground. Death-Howl felt the bitter tip of an arrow pierce his back, too close to the spine for comfort, but at least his master was safe.

“After all, rarely do the men who orchestrate wars find themselves holding the instruments. It's those holding the instruments, you see, they go and they die, they die at each others hands, and all their familiars and relations they weep and they cry revenge, and then the whole thing's sunk. Then the whole thing is personal, and if it lasts long enough it is cultural, and then for all the original maestros may wish most dearly to cease the thing it is too late, don't you see. The match is lit, the throat, is slit.”
Private Lanson squirmed, still adjusting to his heavy standard-issue boots, belts, and helm. The drawling voice in the shadow had been going in this vein for a good ten minutes and it hadn't helped him settle into his uniform one bit.
“Wars are fought for other people. For crowns and cravats who failed to keep the peace with words. And also for th

Five years. Five agonizing years have passed.
Death-Howl watched the mindless undead lurch about the place. Being away from Arthas made him some-what normal. "If only you knew that you are just pawns." The worgen growled, rising to his hind legs. The lupine walked around as a man, sniffing his surroundings and growling at the lower rank death knights. Cannon-fodder he called them.
Glaecia left them a few weeks back to return home. Death-Howl didn't know his his friend was okay, or even alive for that matter. He still had Liyara. The woman he was lusting madly for.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Liyara walked out of a tent with her long, raven-colored hair tied back in a loose ponytail.
Death-Howl grinned, stepping over to her as he shrank down to his human form. His greasy black hair was pulled back in

"AAAAAaaaaAAAaaaa!" The wind tore the screams from their throats as they hurtled down, down, toward the blue ice of the glacier below. Koltira must have had a little more air in his lungs because his howl lasted a few seconds longer than Thassarian's. Eyes wide they watched the ground loom ever closer, the wind's fury trying hard to suck them out of the saddle. Invincible made not a sound. At the last instant his wings snapped open and they surged upward with such force Thassarian could hear their spinal bones clicking and armor grinding. For several long minutes they plunged up and down with stomach-dropping speed as the winged steed adjusted to their weight and balanced the load they made on his back, finally settling into level flight a thousand feet above the land of Northrend.
"Hack!" Koltira's first effort to speak came out as a wheezing cough. "S-sti
