rewind the time.
I can't move forwards when you are now so far behind.
Shake it off,
it won't go away.
I can't move forwards when you are on my mind again.
Step back again,
I can't move forwards when you are in so much pain.
Caught between this,
and what it was.
I can't move forwards when you are still so captivating.
It wasn't simple,
still isn't today.
I can't move forwards when you are so damn casual.
I can't move,
I can't breathe.
I can't move forwards when you are not by my side.
OnyxI remember the walks we never had under the stars we never saw and the chances to make memories that I missed. I curse myself more and more each day that you're gone. I think of all the times we talked and all that's left for me to say is that I care about you more than anyone else.Onyx9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I need you more and more each day, I need you here with me. I swear that one day I will see you, and I'll never leave your side.
I can't help keep thinking of the last time that I saw you, of all the things I left unsaid, of all the late night conversations when I should've been begging you to stay instead of flying away in the morning. Spread your wings and come flying back to me.
Maybe Fate has a different plan for us, a future where we can always be together. Until that day I swear you're in my thoughts and prayers but still
Our Breaking BellOur Breaking Bell10 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
We were broken, and we were in love,
And after ends, it wasn't enough,
And we had mouths, but we never spoke,
I told you to care, but you told me to choke,
We took it all, and we never looked back,
For after December, we lost the tact,
Holding our faces, but not one another,
This was our life, this was forever,
You hurt me, and you never begged,
I never looked back, and I never said,
"This is enough, we need to stop,"
Because I felt low, and you were on top,
My hands bled, and your back snapped,
I took the pity, and you stayed damned,
We made the lock, we ignored the sign,
I ruined your life, and you ruined mine,
I lost hope, and you lost intrigue,
Foraying the feelings, forgetting the deed,
Our legs dropped, and our heads fell,
And our ears panged, to our broken bell.

You get under my skin
I'm sorry for forgetting
You didn't want in
I'm sorry for being
A leech on your skin
I'm sorry for not seeing
You weren't letting me in
I'm sorry for crying
My tears stained your skin
I'm sorry for dying
When you finally let me in
I'm sorry for living
And for breathing on your skin
I'm sorry for sinning
The lie I was living in
I'm sorry for hurting
Each time you felt my skin
I'm sorry for flirting
After the danger set in
I'm sorry for carving
Lines into my skin
And I'm sorry for starving
I thought you wanted me thin
But most of all I'm sorry
For stealing from your life
For deluding that maybe one day
I would be your wife
The day we failed
Was the day I died
'Desire Rises''Desire Rises'10 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
"Slumber, a sweet repose,
tis but a tool to trick eternity and to try to forget one's woes.
And yet to slumber do both alive and undead both return,
one for the rest required to rise the next day and get on with their lives,
another to rest and rise when their unlife has become less burdensome.
I waited as I slumbered, I hesitated in my awakening, till I heard the sweet call of a voice long time heard, long time gone,
long time returning,
as it wafted through the air of the night, it sang out my name, it called to me, I
I responded, and white silk, sheer - that in which I slumbered was heard to rustle at my frist movements to answer that voice's call.
It was the call of a lover to another,
his name Sirocco, mine Desiree, and that is how he called unto me,
with all of his desires.
So rise I once more to walk this earth,
rise I to walk beside the only one to which I shall ever be bound,
ever be held, ever to be one with in this unlife called eternal night."

The quarter moon hung in the sky, bright against the black velvet background of the early night. It was a winter moon, low and large, and had risen early. A figure slender sat almost unnoticed on the concrete wall that lined the entrance to the T Station, as they called the subway in the Northeastern town. A man's black fedora was pulled low over her face, a sharp contrast to the thick shining blonde hair that hung loose beneath, save the small braid in the back woven with dull silver beading. A bomber jacket of black leather with a collar of matching fur topped the long legs garbed in black jeans. Her hands, delicate and petite, were covered in leather gloves trimmed at the cuffs also with fur, both the same color as the jacket. Through eyes of dark gold the figure peered at the passerby's, watching them, listening to them, occasionally canting her head ever so slightly as to allow her a better view of one that peaked her interest, but only for a moment. Then once more the

Lullaby in the rain:
Watch them exorcise the apparent,
float themselves in waves all empty
and climax and expire
burning is easy, trash fire free
exposed and relentless feeding
that gave life strangulation
Gave me immortality.
Mantra for masochism
to rape oblivion for tiny secrets
and find them vaccous and bleeding
like souls on empty.
Devoted to pain in worship
giving self a reason for justification
in disjointed lines
And apoplexic inaugurations
We were born ghosts, understand.
Lullaby in the rain:
to be caught staring upwards
long enough to drown.
Peaceful SlumberI dreamt of you, peaceful stranger.Peaceful Slumber8 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Your presence scared away any danger.
I saw your face shining at me with laughter.
As you stood before me, hands on hips,
a shining halo outlining you before thee.
A few nights with you in my dreams,
gave me hope for the future and what it could bring.
I wondered for years when I would see your face.
How many lifetimes until you entered this place.
You crept into my life, a delicious shadow, and I knew it not.
You were before my eyes time and time again,
and it wasn't until I lost you that my mind made that bend.
As before it happened again, I dreamed of a love that I couldn't comprehend.
In the moment I didn't see, what was there in front of me.
And so with ignorance and stupid choices,
I'm left alone with sighing voices.
I wonder now what good it did, to see you before our time.
But I wouldn't trade those dreams for anything,
no reason, no will, no rhyme.
Roy and Hughes DrabbleThe phone was ringing.Roy and Hughes Drabble11 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
An arm snaked out from under the rather comfortable warmth of the blanket and with practiced ease snatched the phone and hauled it back to a face still pressed solidly against pillows.
"Good morning, Maes."
"And here I thought you liked hearing my voice over the phone." Roy's voice was thick with a sly smile. Definitely audible, the smirk was almost tangible.
Gathering brain cells still brandy-dipped Maes took an attempt at actual words. "The hell time is it ?" Maes cracked one eye open, seeking some amount of light to judge the day by.
"Oh, about an hour before dawn."
"The hell you want? 'S too early for work."
"Well, I was having some coffee, and wanted to let you know how delicious it was." Was it Maes' imagination, or was Roy attempting to coo into the phone?
"Why would I want to know about your damn cup of coffee at this indecent hour?!"
"Well, since you always think to share with me, I thought I would try and be such a good friend to you

DOCTOR: Depth is the third dimension, other than length and width. (motions with hands)
BOY (bemused): Dimension?
DOCTOR (holds drawing of square and a wooden cube): This drawing has two dimensions: length and width. This wooden cube has three, including height.
BOY (struggles to reach wooden sphere): This is depth? (holds sphere with both hands, ogling)
DOCTOR: No, that is roundness. The sphere has depth, though.
BOY: I don't understand.
PATIENT 2 - a young male slightly older than Patient 1. He is in a hospital bed, preoperative.

I could see for miles
the years went passing
and dreams flooded into my mind
in a rushing wind I found myself screaming
"take me away"
time and space flew away,
in retrospect I could tell
that though enjoying myself in the moment
to stay would mean to forget myself
the world around me began to bleed in pain
while we all were at each other's throats
we bled our own selves dry before we'd lift our hands to help
giving into our own vices while we jumped in screaming
"take us away"
we'd never been here before
and it should've stayed that way
'cause now we're living for ourselves
we don't care about anyone else
I rolled out of bed and began to shudder
as I opened my eyes
I could barely see my hand
darkness had fallen upon this land
and there was one small light
a beam of hope came from withinI

A dark painted portrait,
longs to be free.
The scars in my vision
I breathe eternal, eternally chased.
My soul is disfigured,
cold hands, are unclean.
So close to fiction,
too close to be seen.
Scented and painted,
but covered in blood.
Here in this ecstasy,
an all-natural drug.
Perfect pale white skin,
Impurities run deep.
My own body dead now,
for my new soul to keep.
Covet the darkness,
and burn in the light,
Here I shall remain.
Your child of the night.

How can it be when our instruments are hopes and dreams?
I guess that I can never come close to him
I say love is foolish.
I know you love him
But somehow still think you may care for me again one day
Oh well, time for me to sign off now
I say goodnight to your pictures
and hope beyond hope that one day I'll kiss you goodnight.
I should never have let you go.
