Day 39.Thursday, March 29Day 39.4 years ago in Personal More Like This
The strangest thing happened today. When I walked out of my apartment, Frank was there, sitting by the door. I jumped, of course. Why wouldn't I? And Frank slowly raised himself up and tried to be eye level with me. He sorta stared me down, and then he only said that he was spending the night here. He walked into the house, dragging a bag behind him. I didn't even see the bag.
I don't really wanna question why he's staying here, but I feel like I should.
Frank mentioned seeing Jamia's parents over the whole ordeal, and that he wanted to skip it, but I'm not sure I heard him correctly…
Frank didn't want to skip meeting his soon-to-be in-laws.
Frank didn't want an abortion.
Frank doesn't want to cuddle.
Frank isn't curled up to my side.

Gerard-- a life in quotes (part 1)"There’s angst but it’s different. I think we’re rebelling now as a rock band. We’re trying to keep it pure, but we’re not playing victims anymore. We’ve realized that we’re one of the youngest bands at our size. So there’s a responsibility that comes with that, whether it’s to fans or to outside listeners who aren’t fans, to be the greatest American rock band. That was the goal. And it took a while to get there, but we’re just being the best My Chemical Romance that we can be."Gerard-- a life in quotes (part 1)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
“I write them wherever I may happen to be when I get hit with inspiration. A lot of times I just make notes of sentences. What I usually do is write paragraphs of free style, just really descriptive phrases and I’ll draw upon those phrases later. I try to get the sound before I get the lyrics.”
"Freedom is a real big theme. We needed freedom to happen for us on this record so

“It’s amazing to be here with people who love music in a non-violent way. If you’re mad, don’t throw a punch, don’t start a fire about it, don’t shout about it. Sing, that’s the most powerful weapon you have.”
"I thought if we made an album that tried to change the world, or give it hope, it would really happen. But all people found was death and destruction and misery and self-hate. I learned that the world doesn't want to be saved, and it will fucking punch you in the face if you try."
"Me and my kid brother used to grow up—we used to grow up? Everybody used to grow up! We had comics, and that’s the only thing we had to escape the kind of place we lived in. And it made us lift up our heads, make

I have a few good contacts that helped me get a place in the crew, apart from that I had to do 6 months of live sound training prior in this place in Dublin to just apply for it. Luckily i succeeded and I ended up latching on to the Europe tour in 2011. I'm only young (I was the baby of the tour) and last year, which was my Sophomore year, you don't do that much in Ireland so my school gave me a month's leave but I was away for about 3 weeks, the 4th week was for recovery and getting used to decent food again.
2.What exactly did you have to do?
I had a few different jobs. My main one had the title of 'Audio Technician' if you want to be exact but it's just fancy for roadie, I did some work on the front of house (the soundboard) and made sure that everything was working and plugged in. I also carried a shit load of guitars and brought equipment to and from places which is much much much harder than it sounds, especially if yo

Gerard-- a life in quotes (part 2)“It’s more important to keep yourself alive, there’s nothing worth ever hurting yourself over. I mean, I’m a person that goes through a lot of depression, and stress, and things like that. I’m generally happier these days. But I have, it’s normal, it’s completely normal to be depressed. […] I think it’s just important that you keep yourself alive, you just stay fighting.”Gerard-- a life in quotes (part 2)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"Yeah, obviously we use vampires as a metaphor for something else, something deeper than just the supernatural. But there's just something about the bloodsucking walking dead, that can say so much to people. There are really so many people trying to get control over you on a daily basis and steal your soul in some way, take a part of you..."

I’ll give you a generalised being from what I’ve seen/read/whatever (and you might learn some psychology from this also);
There’s this guy, let’s call him Terry- ok? This isn’t someone I know, this isn’t anyone you’ll know, this is just a made up person called Terry who carries all of the opinions of all the people I’m talking/will talk about later on.
Now Terry likes Rock, Metal, Alternative, Screamo- all of that side of the genre. And in his life time he has either seen/experienced a lot of teasing for liking Rock and wearing black. So he’s moderately angsty. These people usually like the other side- Pop, R and B, Rap, Hip Hop etc etc. He doesn’t like those people, he won’t listen to that ‘crappy music’. He’s heard of Sophie Lancaster (a young british woman who both she and her boyfriend were attacked for being goths- she
Just a few things about killjoysOkay guys, I just wanted to write this up to help anyone who isn’t familiar with how the climate of the Californian desert can effect different skin tones, and various other things about living out here. I live in a fairly small town between LA and San Diego, moreso towards San Diego, it’s smack dab in the middle of the desert. Summer temperatures usually range form 88-105 degrees during daylight and 30-40 degrees at night.Just a few things about killjoys3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The difference between our heat here and let’s say in Florida is, ours is a dry heat. You can head outside and hang out without sweating. But the draw back is it tends to dry out skin, hair, nails, etc. So even if you sit inside you’ll dry out without a humidifier, and I highly doubt those would be easy to come back in post-apocalyptic 2019. Because of the heat you tend to sweat a lot, sweat leads to breakouts, and breakouts lead to apply profuse amounts of makeup, causing worse breakouts. So more than likely inhabitants skin m

“We have the best fans in the world because they are pretty much as crazy as we are.”
“I don’t know why but I’ve always hated myself. Hopefully that self-hate is growing into something else now; hopefully it’s grown into caring about myself and wanting to stay alive.”
“Nobody’s in the middle with us. It’s either ‘I love them’ or ‘I want to kill them’. People love us and believe in us or they want to see us destroyed. And I love that.”
“I needed [the support of my bandmates]. I’m still scared, though; I worry it could happen again and
SING contestSo I've decided to do the SING contest mentioned in the poll. The people who voted "yes" on the poll weren't the majority, but 63 of you wanted to do it and I'm not going to deny them this opportunity.SING contest3 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you didn't see the poll, this is a writing contest. This is the prompt: Write a fic (or draw a comic) about what happens after the SING video. (Whether it's immediately after, a month after, the rest of their lives, etc. Whatever you want.)
These are the only three rules:
No Mary Sue fics. Any Sue fics will be rejected. OCs are fine, but make sure they're believable characters and not annoying, flawless Sues.
You can't say the events of SING were all a dream. Like, you can't have Party Poison wake up and realize that he dreamed the whole thing and everyone is alive and well. That's just too easy. You can bring the band back to life, but only if it happens logically.
You have to write something new. You can't just submit a f

Update on the official Killjoy comicFrom mcrupdates:Update on the official Killjoy comic3 years ago in Personal More Like This
In the question-and-answer session, [Scott] Allie had an update on the Gerard Way comic “Killjoys,” edited by Sierra Hahn, which was announced at Comic-Con International: San Diego in 2009 and was originally scheduled for 2010. “My Chemical Romance, the band that Gerard is in, started working on their next album and their next album turned into a Killjoys album,” he said. “So the band got focused on doing a Killjoys record and the comic would have a certain relationship to that. The comic is not in any way an adaptation of the record; there is actually an interesting gulf between what the record is and what the comic is. Becky Cloonan, who did some art for the CD, is the artist for the comic and work is under way on it finally, but the story that it originally was has changed so much that frankly I don’t know where
Stalking vs. Normal Fan BehaviorMy Chemical Romance, as far back as I can remember, has never had a normal fan base. The fans have always had a certain passion and drive for the band that many other bands cannot replicate and arouse in their own fans. This devotion has led to good developments within the fan base with such projects like #Sing it for Japan, a music video driven by mostly fan made creations. Yet amidst all of this are some controversial acts of devotion that have sparked a split within much of the fan base in what is right or wrong.Stalking vs. Normal Fan Behavior3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The controversial behavior in question started to appear more frequently during the band’s Black Parade Tour in 2007. Video footage of fans stalking them to their hotel is all over YouTube: fans screaming for them to sign things well into the night. It should come to no surprise though. My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade had sold 1,169,697 copies in the U.S alone by August 25, 2007. It was certified as 2X Platinum in the UK. By 2010, in t
Long tweet from Gerard about the end of the bandGerard just posted a very long tweet: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rjdh4fLong tweet from Gerard about the end of the band2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The explanation is kind of of vague, but he makes two things clear: the band didn't end due to scandal or argument, and MCR is indeed done. So whether the fan theories about legal issues are true or not, the break-up is permanent, and it wasn't quite as abrupt as it seemed.
As incredibly disappointing as this is, I'm glad he said this early on so we can stop pondering over theories and start to move on with our lives. While I thought the theories were interesting, I worried that they brought false hope and dragged this on longer than necessary. Now we finally have to put MCR to rest.
But even though MCR is over, the guys' stories certainly aren't. I just hope they find happiness in whatever they do.

Interview with Down-A-Rabbit-HoleINTERVIEWInterview with Down-A-Rabbit-Hole3 years ago in Personal More Like This
1. Your Killjoys always have unique and detailed clothing designs. How do you come up with them?
To be honest I'm a bit of a fashion freak XD I love flicking through indie magazines like Frankie and then there's the big ones like Vogue and Oyster. I don't copy outfits I see, but take details that I like from a piece and keep a record of small sketches of these designs. If I'm stuck for a costume design then I go back to these.
I also find details come from sayings, weird as that sounds. Like the expression "they have a chip on their shoulder." That ended up being incorporated in one of my artworks http://Down-a-Rabbit-Hole.deviantart.com/art/SINGItForJapan-202773006?q=gallery%3Adown-a-rabbit-hole%2F24295840&qo=20
2. Your more poignant drawings involve tragic deaths. Is it difficult to draw things like that? If so, why do you think it's necessary to push through and finish the drawing anyway?
I wouldn't say it's difficult for me to draw tragic thing

Mikey, Frank, and Ray answer fan questionsA few weeks ago we were given the opportunity to interview My Chemical Romance and, knowing how passionate you guys are (especially the MCRmy!), we wanted YOU to ask the questions.Mikey, Frank, and Ray answer fan questions4 years ago in Personal More Like This
So we put the call out over our Facebook and Twitter and, of course, we were absolutely inundated! After narrowing the questions down (with some help) we sent them to My Chemical Romance and eagerly awaited their reply.
What we were not expecting was this great video from Mikey, Ray and Frank!
You can see the questions and video here: http://tothetune.livejournal.com/254822.html#cutid2 Also, enjoy the cute photo of Mikey smiling
That was pretty nice of the band to make a video for them.
SING it for Skye and SarahTwo girls were beaten to death for wearing My Chemical Romance clothing. It just goes to show how sick and twisted and malicious humanity can be. Did those innocent girls truly deserve to die because they loved a different form of music? It is SICK. It is fucking SICK. Who honestly deserves to die for wearing a band shirt? You don't see fuckers wearing Bieber shirts getting the life beat out of them. It is insane. Those fuckers better be locked up for the rest of their lives!SING it for Skye and Sarah4 years ago in Personal More Like This
And you KNOW the media is going to blame MCR. You KNOW. Even though they had nothing to do with the girls' deaths. They simply wore a shirt to show they loved a band. They didn't kill themselves or anything like that. NO. They were different. They weren't like everyone else. So apparently they deserve to die, right? WRONG. Fuck you, Media. Don't blame MCR. They have never promoted self harm ONCE. ONCE. Blame these mono-cultured bastards who think different is wrong. Blame the fuckers' parents for not raising them
A Christmas for a KilljoyTWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,A Christmas for a Killjoy4 years ago in Personal More Like This
HE LIVED ALL ALONE...
IN A WORN OUT HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.
I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY THE MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF LONG GONE BANDS.
WITH RAYGUN HOLES,
AND SCRATCHES OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.
FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A KILLJOY,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE KILLJOY LAY SLEEPING,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS WORN DOWN HOME.
THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A FREEDOME FIGHTING SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?
I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
NEEDED TO THANK THE KILLJOYS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.
