A man was stretched out on the twin-sized bed, sheets tangled with his limbs. He was not asleep, but staring up at the ceiling with a blank, dazed look. His shaggy black hair was splayed out on the pillow, and his forehead glistened with sweat.
Every night was the same, now. After the Manor he had his share of nightmares, but it appeared that his trip to Clanbrowyn Island had stirred up fresh horrors for his mind to experience every night. Memories that weren't his lingered in his psyche, ephemeral as a dream but as lethal as a knife. He never slept anymore, terrified of what new hell awaited him on the inside of his eyelids.
