[rant] Truthers, Freedom and ControversyI tend to not stick myself in any particular label or group. I study metaphysics, but don't consider myself a new ager. I study quantum physics, psychology, technology and other things, but I don't really deem myself as any sort of scientist or so-called expert. I understand much about the matrix mind prison and the political scams within this world and the need for us to wake up, but I don't really consider myself any sort of a truther or anything like that. My reasons why, though they may be detailed, are simple in concept. I will use the idea of truthers as a primary focus of the box label dichotomy because I think they tend to urk me even more than the new agers or fundamentalist religious types.[rant] Truthers, Freedom and Controversy7 months ago in Personal More Like This
Hitler once truthfully bragged, that the beautiful thing about the totalitarian state, is that those who fear it, will emulate it. I don't particularly see that as any sort of accomplishment deserving of bragging rights, but it is a truth in regards to human psychology.

The Levels of Internet Trolls - An Endler StudyIn which I, for the hell of it, look through the series of different internet trolls, from when they're hated to the point where they're merely humorous to those around them. Level 1: The Adequate Troll
This particular species of troll is the only one that actually shows to have brain cells lodged up in that space between their ears. Unlike their brethren, they do not use memes or associate with anything of what people often think of when they think of the common internet troll. No, these people actually use sensible wit to drive people into corners while sharing an argument, all the while intentionally trying to leave the other user pissed off.
They are quiet, more subdued, but sometimes pluck off the 'attention whore' tendency of those below them. If on Deviantart, they might dedicate their entire gallery to merely making stamps that will undoubtedly piss people off, knowing th

What does FiM mean to me? For me, it's more than a rebranding of My Little Pony, and an amazing cartoon. It's the reason I rediscovered a passion for art, and it has helped me make some amazing friends. Before Friendship is Magic even started, I was going nowhere in my life. I had no passion, no desire, no hope. I felt empty and incomplete. And then in October 2010, I discovered the magic of FiM thanks to 4chan of all places! I did not think any of the discussion going on was real. This is 4chan after all! After I watched my first episode of Friendship is Magic, for whatever reason, I felt a smile creep across my face.
I wanted to contribute something to the growing fandom, but I had no ability to draw, nor did I have any desire to pick it up back then. The most I could do was trace some low resolution screengrabs and use Paintshop Pro to try and turn them into desktop wallpapers. I found myself happy to be contributing something, but it was probably not the best con
Maddy's Tips: Building a Strong PortfolioAfter receiving a few emails recently asking for portfolio feedback and general advice, I decided to write up a small list of tips that can help a student or graduate create a portfolio that game studios will want to look at.Maddy's Tips: Building a Strong Portfolio10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Degree ≠ Job. A lot of studios don't look in a resume for where you went to school. The first thing they're interested in the quality of work in your portfolio. If you have the skills, then you probably have the job!
Do more than homework. Lot's of college students get turned down by studios because they give them a portfolio that only has school work in it. Studios look for people that create more outside of class. It can range anywhere from fan art to designing your own characters.
Get on forums. Stay active on the game art forums like Polycount or others like CGHub and GameArtisans. Post your work and speak with other aspiring game artists and professionals all over those sites. Lots of studios

Looking for new ways to improve?
Just to IMPROVE?
There's one thing that people always repeat(I'm not trying to offend anybody) is that when they watch another artist who's art is very good, they either think, "I won't be able to be that good" and feel like they will never improve.
Sad thing, but true.
Only a few people think about improving to get to the same level as their favorite artist.
BUT! There's always room for improvement! ;D
Well, then. I'm not so sure if this is helpful or not and if you will learn something new or not, but, continue on, please. c:
Ever heard of 'practice makes perfect'? I know some people out there practice until they hands feel dead(not literally) but don't give up! Like I said, there's always room for improvement! c: And it doesn't matter if you waste paper. Paper can always be recycled. If you think you're wasting paper, try finding old envelopes and doodle on them!
Don't give up! EVER! Be strong and
Avoid UbisoftA while back, just after I had completed whichever iteration of Assassin’s Creed involved the pirate guy, I said that Watchdogs was probably going to be a crap game. A number of people said I was wrong to badmouth a game without playing it, but my argument was that you could gauge the quality of an upcoming title by the studio/publisher’s previous output. With that in mind, it’s fairly obvious that Ubisoft’s preferred method is to dazzle the weaker minded with pretty, pretty graphics in order to sell as many copies as possible before someone points out that the game actually plays like a dog (which – what ho - is exactly what Watchdogs did).Avoid Ubisoft1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Ass Creed: Unity hit the headlines because of it doesn’t just play bad, it’s flat out broken.

why people hate the hetalia fandom - rantThis one is pretty long.why people hate the hetalia fandom - rant4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Over the past months, the Hetalia fandom (which I was never much involved in in the first place) has grown considerably. Sometimes this is good; it's always nice to have more people share your interests. And I am by no means a kind of person who starts to hate something once it's popular. I still love Hetalia, whether or not people agree with me, but even I, as someone who supports the...whatever you'd call it...am starting to get sick and tired of the fandom. No wonder people hate Hetalia, when they see the kind of moronic behaviour I keep seeing around the internet. When it gets to the point that a hardcore fan such as myself is shaking her head in disgust, people need to shape up, Jesus. As someone who likes Hetalia, I really don't want people seeing my page and going "Ew, it's one of them", and then writing me off completely as a moron.
Also I'd like to stop right here and say I am not calling out anyone I know personally or anyone here, I
Russia under the Cult of Putin?I really thought China was going to be the big problem for the 21st Century. They’re quietly taking over chunks of Africa and South America in order to leach them for resources, they’re trying to expand their reach in the Pacific by challenging claims over strategic islands (and when that fails, they BUILD new ones!) and their human rights record is smeared with the blood and filth of their own poor.Russia under the Cult of Putin?2 months ago in Personal More Like This
That one of the “old” superpowers would do something to upset the delicate balance that’s been in place since the end of the Cold War was unthinkable. After everything that happened in the 20th century and the blanket of fear and doubt it cast over the world, what kind of person would risk a return to the dark days?
Well, Putin gave the answer, there. I thought the chap was sinister, but ultimately harmless. A cool headed fellow that had as much pride in his nation as any other Russian. For a while last year I was even thinking; we really don’t need firs

Please bring your own towels if you plan to do this.)

“The Force Awakens” is right up there with “Return of the Jedi” and “Revenge of the Sith” in that it implies a focus on the hokey religion; in my mind, the most boring element of the Star Wars movies and what always seems to be the focus of Star Wars video games these days.
When we otherwise see epic space battles and Machiavellian plots, I just hate it when things cut to a pair of guys in bath robes talking very slowly about how everything of f**king interest leads to the f**king Dark Side. All they seem to want to do is sit in a beige room on space-futons. It’s just dull.

And here it is!
1 can of Red Bull
1 table spoon of Kool-Aid (cherry, berry, or grape depending on what you're making)
And 4 Pixy Stix's (again match the color of the Pixy Stix to the drink)
And like any good update her are the good things:
An afternoons worth of energy.
It taste great!
And it gets you in the mood to play Team Fortress 2!
And now the well-loved side effects:
You get a major crash.
You can get jittery.
And if you're an odd ball like me, your voice may jump up an octave. (He he half way through church my voice started to sound like Fluttershy and did not stop until 30 minutes later.)
Well as most people add to their Bonk recipe: DRINK AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Bonk belongs to valve; I'm just a fan who wishes it was real.
'Just be yourself'As a kid I had problems grasping the meaning of "be yourself". Whenever I asked what it meant, the replies were hardly satisfying. Mostly, I was told NOT to be the way I thought of as ok but to be like the kid next door, because he was so well behaved. Or someone famous, someone rich, because they were successful and the more successful you are, the better.'Just be yourself'1 year ago in Personal More Like This
But even at a very young age I already noticed the contradiction here: how was I supposed to be myself if I was copying someone else? This seemed off.
In the end it wasn't a human who was able to explain the concept of "be yourself" to me.
It was a video game.
With a blue hedgehog.
The first thing I noticed about the game was how happy he looked. He was clearly doing the one thing he loved to do, the one thing he did best. And he made a dent with it.
I was impressed.
And then I was hooked.
And by the time we had traveled through three games, I was certain that I had understood the whole "be yourself" thing. And I adored him for it.

This week has brought a lot of light to the dark and seedy things lurking in the minds and hearts of the GOP. People who are supposed educated officials have shown their true colors. The utter disregard for women and their health, their lives, and their suffering has become ominous and boldly placed in the face of the public. Romney and Ryan are as dangerous as the twisted rapists they defend. Make no mistake they actually do defend them. That is why there is no mistake where the future must go from here.
Women have been the hot button issue for the last year and a half. With statements getting more and more absurd and outlandish as we near the election. At first glance one could suspect these jokers were just avoiding facing the issue of the economy and the failure in job creation. One which was led by the GOP blocking every effort on the part of Obama to create n

I swear to my country and to humanity, that I will peacefully and respectfully refuse to willingly obey any legislation prescribed by so-called leaders; which is criminal, unlawful and otherwise treasonous; or violates my rights or the rights of another.
I will attack no one, but will defend myself if attacked by any aggressor, regardless of their alleged credentials.
My compliance to unlawful legislation may only be obtained illegally by means of deadly force
against my will, which exceeds my ability to defend myself against it; thus forcing my reluctant surrender under duress.
I vow to mitigate the risks of war, crime and violence in society, through the non-fearful spread of awareness of the current state of world affairs, in an empowering way which respects the free will of my peers.
I will do my best to imagine possible solutions, rather than merely complaining about the problems but otherwise doing nothing
My Top 20 Least Favorite PokemonSince I'm pretty deep into Pokemon right now and I'd like to give my opinions on some of them, I thought I'd do something a little fun giving both my favorite and least favorite Pokemon, 20 of them (each). I did something like this before, but that had a bunch of filler-entries. Bronzong may be my least favorite steel type, but I don't have any dislike for the bell-thing. So I figured I'd give you my straight up, 20 least favorite Pokemon. And my opinions have changed a bit with me using more of a variety. These are straight up opinions and Pokemon that aren't good at battling, like Tropius or Dunsparce can be saved by their designs. Unfortunately that cuts both ways and some of the Pokemon on this list I hate for appearance alone. I'm also judging the Pokemon based on what they add to the game... you know like how zubat and tentacool adds a shit ton of annoyance (although neither of them are on this list because crobat is awesome and I've got nostalgic attatchment to tentacruel, it beMy Top 20 Least Favorite Pokemon1 week ago in Personal More Like This

On March 1, 2012 the Nevada DMV issued the first license for a Google Driverless Car. The idea behind this innovation is that one day soon new technology will drive cars safer and more skillfully than humans, thus saving lives and billions of dollars in car crashes. How well this idea catches on is a bit questionable, given the powerful “romance” of driving one’s car, but it’s certainly an indicator of things to come in the daily intersection of human and artificial intelligence and mobility. There have always been those who have dreamed of stepping into a mechanical exo-skeletal-type “suit” and letting the engineering do the work, insta

First, let me make clear that this is only about 'good' attention – if you just want, say, a certain pageview count, there are probably better ways. This article is for those who would like some people to take them serious as an artist and to actively watch them.
Also note that you needn't follow all of the tips below, but it's recommendable to follow at least 3 of them. Just one or two will not usually get you very far.

Now, I'm not as much into Hetalia as I used to be, but I still like it, especially some of the fandom. Unfortunately, there are also parts of the fandom that really, really bug me.
I bet you all saw this coming, everyone's complaining lately.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the fandom growing or Hetalia becoming more popular; if that's all that was happening, it wouldn't be a problem.
However, the increasing popularity of it is bringing...er...'undesirable' consequences, such as those fans who know nothing about history and have no desire to learn. I am increasingly seeing things that completely disregard history and/or the natures of the countries.
Not that I mind things not relating to history, bu
