The Tragedy of the Internet
Isn't that what the internet is all about- being connected? Your single computer linked up to the whole world, hundreds of millions of other people. Everything you do on the web seems to be about communication. Everything you create and upload is because of a wish for others to see and appreciate- if this wasn't the case, why would you put it online?
Members of this site are well known for craving page views and comments. OI think I am not the only one here who draws pictures while imagining the response it will get when submitted. This could sometimes even be the greatest motivator behind hours of work- "people might not like it unless I perfect this last detail..." - I wonder if what drives internet addiction is actually a form of loneliness, a desire to be acknowledged, appreciated, liked? Some make online friends that they may even talk to more than friends in real life, connected constantly by instant messaging programs. People post journals confiding their deepest feelings
True LovePeople don't understand what it means to love someone. Love is not something you can be selfish about. It is a give and take situation, notice give being the first word in that. Love is not about what the person you're with is doing to make you happy, it's about what you're doing to make them happy. Now the person you're with should be thinking along the same lines so it's not a take-take situation on their part.True Love10 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
All ideals about love being completely intense and passionate all the time should be thrown away. Love is not an entertainer, it is not going to constantly create excitement and passion. I'm not saying it never will but don't expect it to constantly be exciting. Know that even in the quiet times love is there, even as you do mundane tasks, it is there. If it is true and you are not lying to yourself about it, it will always be there.
I don't believe you can fall out of love with someone because if that happens you never really loved them, you were infatuated yes, but not in lo

Our tiny green figurines, traversing the dark night of the internet, pass each other barely a second glance.
The girl I dont really know and I do not talk to each other, what would we say? The conversation, the one I have had so many times, moves swiftly from Hello to How are you to Fine, then stops. I wonder if she gazes at my name, running her head through the conversation many times, and eventually deciding that the walls of ignorant silence between us are too indomitable, as I do to her.
The writing beside the name of the girl I dont really know changes whenever she is online. Always some in-joke with her friends, congratulating someone I will never know for a witticism I will never hear.
Generally, the names are a girls. Her best friends. Two common names, put side-by-side. And that is my only window into a complex history between two people that may have begun before I even learned the nam

True strengthStrength.True strength7 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
The definition of strength varies among people.
Some people believe that strength comes from being superior.
Winning all the time, making others lose, pointing their weaknesses, and condescending them.
They believe that strength comes from how much they don't fall.
But a true strength is not determined by how much weakness they don't have.
It's determined by their strength to embrace and accept their weaknesses.
There is nothing wrong with being weak or wrong, or not knowing something.
Because what really matters is how they acknowledge and accept these weaknesses and strive for improvement.
A show of ignorance or an offensive response is merely a cover over their desperate need to hide and deny their weaknesses.
It's easy to deny, to be seen strong. But they can't fight their inner desperation of such greed.
It takes a lot to accept. It takes true strength to admit mistakes, admit defeat, to overcome their inner desire to be superior.
It's okay to have weaknesses
20 Writing Tips1. Write like crazy. Whether it's by hand or on a computer, just write, write, write, write, WRITE. The more you work at it, the better you'll get at it.20 Writing Tips3 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
2. Be flexible. Don't just stick to what you already know. Dare to write something outside your comfort zone.
3. Never throw an idea away. Ideas are like fish: you never know when you'll catch a good one, and if you let it go, you most likely won't get it back. Keep a journal for your ideas and write down anything that comes to mind, no matter how silly or stupid it may sound.
4. Take your time. Don't expect to write a bestseller in a few months, or even a few years. (I learned this the hard way.)
5. Be prepared for a LOT of rejections and a LOT of criticism. Don't assume you'll hit it off with the first publisher you find, and don't expect everyone to like your book, or to bother reading it at all.
6. Be open to other people's suggestions, but write the story that YOU want.
7. Go easy on yourself. Don't expect your book

Love is...Love is...11 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
I've always thought of love as something that one should feel instantaneously when meeting a person... but that's not always the way. Almost always, the first attraction we have towards people is physical, be it looks, or smell, or maybe something else. It has actually been stated (yes yes, it was in an Old Spice commercial, but bear with me!) that smell is what ties us to the most poignant memories we have (I made it sound prettier). As soon as I heard the thing about scent being tied to memory I've always remembered it because it somehow rings true to me; when people die their loved ones often find themselves looking through clothing simply to remember the smell of the deceased.
Now, I've always hated to believe the first step to love being physical attraction. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for physical stuff but when it comes to love I'm completely serious about there being an equal balance of all aspects. Here is when we come to the hard part... what IS love? One of those big qu

My hope, my wish, was granted, fulfilled in a way that makes me smile even more, everyday.
It astonishes me that no matter how bad I feel, Taylor's smile completely turns my day around, I simply cannot help but smile back at her when she smiles at me.
And that got me to thinking. Why is it so hard for us to smile? Smiling is an automatic reflex, it's built into us from the day we are born.
The answer is simple, we don't smile because we choose not to.
Sounds horrible, right? That's because it is. So many of us are caught up in all the negative things in life that we've become used to them, negativity has become our reality. We see people that are smiling and happy and they make us angry because we AREN'T smiling and happy.
It is an unbelievably shallow and selfish thing, to be angry with someone because they are happy.
Smiling relieves frustration, pain, anger,

Why Hate Furries? There is NO good reason for someone to hate furries, the media has portrayed only a very very small part of the fandom that can be classified as "wrong" or "weird". Simply put, the fandom is ALOT larger and ALOT less freaky than the media shows it to be. Whenever there is something weird or strange, the media says"Hey! That's Something We Can Exploit!" But then the media drops the positive aspects of what they are showing, This is because the media only shows weird, wrong, tragic, or painful. That is why most people think furries are nothing but freaks who dress up in fursuits and have sex orgies with eachother. (yes i saw that CSI episode) Something else i have seen lately is people saying that yiff is the same as beastiality... That is incorrect. Yiff is sex between two furries, beastiality is a human having sex with an animal, Yiff and beastiality are two different things. Get It Right People!!!
