Luna's Socks - Part 2Luna's Socks Part 2 starring Twilight Sparkle and the Princesses Celestia and LunaLuna's Socks - Part 24 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
It took Twilight forever to fall asleep, the incident playing over and over in her head, the same mixture of sensations and frustrations just memories now but nevertheless still raw and sensitive. But at last she fell into a fitful sleep, hot and uncomfortable but empty of dreams...
....until she awoke to the sound of the windows clattering open and the rustling of the curtains against the drapery of her bed.
She drew her head slowly out from under the covers to see that the whole room was lit up by silver-blue light pouring in from the now open window. The mirror had turned into a pool of quicksilver and the brass handles and hinges of the furniture were sparkling as if they had been doused in glitter.
Twilight climbed out of bed, her eyes glued to the beam of light piercing the room, and took a few nervous steps towards the window. She had closed it, hadn't she? There was no way sh

Screaming at the uncaring darkness
Of my solitude, an imprisoned mare
At this hour, I mark one year less.
My elder sister always had her way,
Her arrogance dictated ambition
Every living thing was under her sway
Relegating my regal position.
But over time I developed with care
An inner, darker magic, the one spell,
That makes my form change to one of Night Mare
Complete, Make myself my sister's equal.
But Celestia is a cunning creature
My resort to brute force was no avail
But, even in this prison of dull feature
My resolve to defeat her will prevail
Looking at the mirrors that surround me,
I pondered on that earlier memory,
A time of innocence, subservience
All behind me, in this true deviance.
Seeing through the mirrors of this prison
A gaze upon Equestria's races
My own, Hidden, ideal panopticon
As I dote over my future subjects.

Rainbow Dash flew up to her house. She'd had a long day, after ponyville's scheduled drought the rain clouds had taken a lot of work.
"Ah, another day of awesome work. Rainbowdash, you are the pony!" She flopped down on the cloud bed, exhausted.
"And now, it's time for some awesome shut eye."
Rainbow closed her eyes and listened to the rain tap against the window. She loved the sound, immediately she began to snore. She really loved her job as the resident weatherpony. The flying, the smell of the clouds, the respect it brought, she loved every second.
There was a small tap at the front door. Rainbow stirred slightly, snoring even louder. The tapping continued.
"No, no, I couldn't possibly be a wonderbolt mmmhhh..." she mumbled, "Well, maybe..."
The tapping grew more obsessive.
"Become your leader?" Rainbow turned over in bed. "Why yes, it only makes sense..."
There was a boom.
Rainbow tumbled out of bed. "What! Who where!? I'm up!" She took a defensive position.

"It's absolutely wonderful to have you back home, my faithful student," Princess Celestia said to Twilight as she walked with her along the corridor that would lead to the East Wing of Canterlot Castle where the guest rooms were. "I've missed you terribly, you know."
Twilight suppressed a squeal of delight. The Princess had missed her? Oh, the things she wanted to say in reply but all she could was blush crimson and whisper, in a voice embarrassingly heavy with emotion: "I've missed you too, Princess "
"It's such a shame that you can't stay in your old tower," Celestia continued as they passed a series of huge stained-glass windows interspersed with tapestries thousands of years old portraying the history of Equestria. "I'm afraid the renovations are really quite untimely."
"It's alright, Princess," Twilight replied, looking at each of the tapestries thoughtfully as they passe
Friendship is Magic: a ReviewNostalgia can be a funny thing it's the sort of emotional impulse that makes a man do crazy things. Things like purchasing the "Sonic Underground" box-set, simply because I enjoyed it as a kid. But there's something inherently disappointing about nostalgia; the realisation that these experiences often remain a part of our childhood for a reason. Watching "Sonic Underground" as a 19-year old is a very different experience to watching it as a youngster on Saturday mornings. The once beloved show now appears to me as a train-wreck of embarrassing musical montages, repetitive pacing and rather dated animation. Getting old is no fun when it brings out the critic within.Friendship is Magic: a Review4 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Thankfully, I have re-ignited that joyous spark of infancy after watching "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic"; a show that for me is not mired by any form of nostalgic bias. After all, prior to "Friendship is Magic" I'd never even considered watching anything related to the My Little Pony franchise. Having watched s

Twilight Sparkle gave a long sigh as she sat peering over a tall stack of books in her library home one day. She was bored. She had absolutely nothing planned and none of her usual books were keeping her attention. To make it even worse, Spike was off to Canterlot for a couple days again, so there wasn't even anyone to talk to. Not very long ago she would have relished the solitude as a chance to get some serious reading done, but after coming to Ponyville and making so many great friends now it just felt kind of lonely.
Still, she was sure she could find at least some book to keep her interested. There just had to be something. If the usual stuff wasn't working, maybe she just needed to look at something different, something she hadn't read before? This was a library after all; there were still a lot of books she had never read on a lot of topics she still didn't know anything about. Moving languidly to her shelves, Twi

"Oh, no, don't be silly! You're a guest, and Mrs Cake is still sleeping so I get to try this new recipe that I've been thinking about for a while now. Come look!"
As Ditzy wandered behind the counter, Pinkie pulled her closer and pointed a hoof at the bowl.
"It's going to be a caramel mudcake, with real mud. I figured Rarity is always going on about how mud is SOOOO good for the skin, and caramel is sooooooo tasty that putting the two together seemed like a great idea! I mean, why would anyone call it a mudcake if they didn't want to put mud in it? They wouldn't! Duh!"

Pinkie Pie was grinning from ear to ear as she bounced excitedly in her room within Sugarcube Corner. Twilight Sparkle was taking her on a date. She had never been on a real date before, but it sounded super fun, especially since it was Twilight and she was such a great pony. Pinkie just couldn't wait.
Suddenly, Pinkie decided she was hungry. Her head bouncing from side to side, she left her room and went downstairs. She saw some tasty looking pink cupcakes resting on a tray on a table. She threw three of them in her mouth all at once and gulped them down with a smile. They were super delicious. Pinkie's whole body quivered as she enjoyed the amazing flavor.
"Enjoying yourself, Pinkie?" Mrs. Cake, who was standing nearby, asked with an awkward laugh as she watched the pink pony. Pinkie glanced at her.

Today I learned that friendships and romances aren't always fated- and sometimes, they're found in the unlikeliest of places.
Your faithful student,
Ditzy Doo drifted idly down the road, finishing up her mail route. It had been a long morning with not much sleep, culminating in her bumping into Fluttershy's mailbox and scaring half of the yellow pegasus's chickens- as a matter of fact, her mane still had a few loose feathers hanging from it. Winter always seemed so long and miserable these days, considering she didn't have a warm fillyfriend to come home to. Ugh, no wonder her concentration wasn't the best lately. All she could think about was someone to nuzzle with.
As she wandered, yawning a little, past Twilight Sparkle's house (only one piece of mail for her house, addressed to that little dragon. Some sort of... moustache catalogue?), Ditzy thought longingly about breakfast. Some days, it felt like her wings were made of lead. Weavi

"Good morning sleepy head," Pinkie whispered.
"Why are you whispering?"
"Cause you're just waking up and my rudeness stops at breaking and entering." She looked up lost in thought and then mused, "Does it count as breaking and entering if the door isn't eve

Not to be discouraged, she asked "Are you sure you're not hurt?"

And at the far end of the room, there was a long, ruby-colored dresser with with white carvings, reminiscent of vines.
