Copic Markers and Pony colorsI get a LOT of questions regarding what colors I use where when it comes to the ponies, and I keep saying I'm gonna make a little guide. Well, let's give it a shot.Copic Markers and Pony colors1 year ago in Personal More Like This
For the majority of my covers, I use Copic markers to color. Copics are light-fast, alcohol markers... not unlike a classic school marker, but higher quality. I prefer Copic over other brands primarily for a few reasons: Variable tips (markers, fine, brush, etc), better blending, and they can be refilled! This is the BIG selling point to me... this means you can buy the marker once, and continue to refill. It also means you can custom blend colors should you desire. Copics also guarantee that if you buy Y00 yellow, and then buy another down the line, the colors will match. I've bought the same marker color from other brands and had them not match. I will use other brands here and there for very specific colors or effects, but Copic is 99% of my marker work.
So... when I do a cover or whatever, I do basic ink lines first wit
MY FAQ - UpdatedPOLYMER CLAY What is polymer clay?MY FAQ - Updated7 years ago in Personal More Like This
-Polymer clay is actually not clay at all. It is a form of plastic. The only reason it is called "clay" is because of it's clay like properties. It is a mold-able substance that can be cured in a normal oven (or toaster oven) and will remain strong after baking.
Where can I buy Polymer clay?
-You can buy Polymer clay at craft stores like Michaels, AC Moore, Jo Ann Fabrics, or even online. Places like eBay and etsy sell polymer clay as well as formal sculpey and fimo websites. Sometimes even Target carries small amount of polymer clay. Or from prairiecraft.com or firemountaingems.com. They carry Kato brand polymer clay.
What are the different brands of polymer clay?
-There are a few brands:

Let's make an eBook!Hey there everyone!!Let's make an eBook!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have some news!
I'm in the planning stages of creating an eBook!
I have 3 ideas for 3 different eBooks, but first I need to learn how to go about publishing them!
Does anyone know of any good sources for eBook publishing?
Or if anyone has ever published an eBook and has some advice or tips, it would be great if you could let me know!
The first eBook is going to be a Sketch eBook of sorts. In it you will find sketches that you wont see anywhere online
I also have plans to reward people who buy the eBook with a free shape sketch!!
(I'll explain the free shape sketch in further detail very soon)
I wont reveal the 2nd and 3rd eBooks just yet
Anyway just wanted to let you guys know what I've got cookin'
Any and all help is very much appreciated!
Free Sketches!I told ya id do it! Im sorry but i will only do wolves!!!!Free Sketches!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
if you have a wolf oc or character post the link in the comments! i may/may not do it today or tomorrow or sometime this week!
please be aware i can not promise you that i will do it, but heck you might as well post the link just incase i decide too
im gonna add this in but if you can watch me because of this that increases me of doing your sketch because i absolutely luvvv watches <3
When i mean a sketch i mean a sketch. it may just look like a crappy sketch or more like a lineart. But i will be uncommon if i color something and if i do i most likely will shade it as well
if you really want me to color +shade, you may request it, but again, no promises i will even do it.
oh and one more thing, if your character is wolf-like even, i may still do it.

How to 'Proofread' your ArtCommunity WeekHow to 'Proofread' your Art8 months ago in Art Features More Like This
Ever feel like there's something wrong with your art, but you just can't identify what?
Here are some surprisingly simple tricks that you should do throughout painting that will help you easily 'proof read' your art for mistakes and issues:
Check your values
If you're painting a picture in colour, this technique is really helpful. Values are important in a painting to give a 3-D feel and to make the painting not feel flat. 'Value' is how light or dark a colour is. It's often hard to tell the value of a colour as colours can easily trick your eyes into thinking they're lighter or darker than they actually are.
For example, take a look at these two colours:
Which is darker? The blue probably appears to be. However, when we make the image greyscale (take away the colours), you'll see that the values of the colours are almost identical.
Oh noes! How do I prevent myself from being tricked? Check your

2. Draw something with a stereotypically feminine theme or style. (Flowers, pastel colours, beautiful subjects?)
3. Draw something with a stereotypically masculine theme or style. (Action, explosions, rough lines and angles?)
4. Draw something that is supposed to arouse positive emotion from the viewer (amusement, joy, sympathy). you can use both technique and the subject of the drawing to achieve this.

Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQSince I get asked the same questions about this costume a lot, I figured I'd write up an FAQ for interested parties:Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQ4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Q: Where did you get your wig?
A: My Finn made it for me. It was made out of two long wigs-- one 48 inch, one 60 inch. They were purchased on Ebay. I don't know the seller, sorry!
Q: How did you do the makeup?
A: It is Ben Nye Character Series cream makeup in Ghoul Grey (CB-8). It was applied using latex makeup sponges and sealed with Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and hairspray. I do not recommend using hairspray unless you have someone helping you apply the makeup.
You can buy it here: http://www.frendsbeautysupplyonline.com/bennyecharacterbasecb-8ghoulgrey.aspx for only $3.40!
Q: How much makeup did you use?
A: Evicted! : Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
Henchmen: Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
It Came From the Nightosphere**: Minimum Coverage (face, neck, hands)

You want to make plushies? Tips and resources listEdit: added a part about fabric selection before 'where do I start'!You want to make plushies? Tips and resources list2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ever since I posted Wolf Link and Midna I've been getting an influx of messages asking me to teach, reveal my secrets, take people under my wing, and so on. The sad thing is I can't spend all that much time one on one with everybody asking me to teach them. So I've decided to put together this massive block of text, relating some of my personal experience in plush making and listing off all my resources at the bottom. This will cover the very basics of plush and pattern making so if you are completely new to plush making this is for you, if you're not and you're just looking for resources skip to the bottom. I hope this will be helpful to someone!
First off, the reality. The big secret. The key to becoming a good plush artist is...
I can already feel the glares and exasperation but hear me out first.
One thing I've noticed with a lot of the messages I got were that a lot of people were scared of screwing up.

CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE JUDGING PROCESS - WHICH BEGINS MONDAY!
UNLESS YOU HAVE CONTACTED ME BEFORE THIS POINT, NEW ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
I hope to have the winners announced mid next week - Friday at the very latest! All entries will be judged by me and by some of my close friends (since I really just love all of them to pieces!). I really can't believe the turn out, and I'm incredibly flattered at the outstanding entries you guys have produced! Thank you!
Decided to open this up a little earlier than anticipated, in order to give people more time to think of good ideas. A week or so ago (at time of writing, obviously), I made a poll with a few ideas for a contest - and 'My Pony and yours' came out top trumps, so that's what this is going to be!
Generally it seems a little generic to have just our ponies together, playing or laughin
Ponyscape v0.4 Patched!!Hi Everypony!!Ponyscape v0.4 Patched!!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The patched version of Ponyscape 0.4 is here!! Currently, the Windows, 64-bit Linux, Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 packages are available! The Linux package was built on Linux Mint 14, but it should work on most up-to-date distributions. On Windows, download the zip file and extract it using 7zip or winrar and run ponyscape.exe. On Linux, download the deb package and install it by running "sudo dpkg -i " or by using a GUI package installer of your choice. On Mac OS X, open the dmg package, drag Ponyscape.app to the Applications folder, and launch Ponyscape.app from your Applications folder. For this patch version, I revamped the Linux package so that everything is now installed in a separate directory from Inkscape and you now run "ponyscape" instead of "inkscape" from a terminal. Additionally I revamped the Mac OS package so that it's now called Ponyscape.app (and I tweaked it a bit so it runs smoother).
You can get the binary packages here (md5's are provided f

Undead Hangout/ClubThe MorgueUndead Hangout/Club8 months ago in Personal More Like This
( new location we're thinking about )
So, we're working on zombie adopts right? Well we were thinking it might be cool if we made an undead club.
Picture a grave yard. You locate a mausoleum with the words 'The Morgue' carved over the top.
You go into the mausoleum, flip up the casket doors and head down the steps to a night club.
I imagine its more like a hang out with a bar and stage for live performances.
And a zombie physiologist trying to help people move on. And a seamstress who acts a medical aid.
Idk. I was just kinda rolling with an idea.
Let me know what you guys think?
