Reno (the Turks) from Final Fantasy VII. So many details, I'm not used to drawing backgrounds. T_T Could go on adding new tidbits for ages, but I have to finish it at some point.. XD

Yuna is in the background because... I wanted to put the 'Loveless' ad from the game (it's somewhere in Midgar) there, but I couldn't find a pic anywhere.. so I used the banner of my FF website instead. XP Will most likely change it to the Loveless ad when I stop being lazy, start the game and make a screenshot.

::snerks:: Reno, first getting his nightstick, wonders what exactly it is... and promptly finds out. X3 This little bit of insanity came from viewing another fanart of Reno somewhere, and a couple comments it produced... ^.^; Reno... gotta love the little nut... XD ::SNUGS the Turk!::

Line art: black in on standard sketchbook paper. A coloured version is (hopefully!) in the works. X3 Unfortunately, the paper is a *wee* bit too wide for my scanner... x.x; Not a big problem, though... ^_^;

More of my quick, sketchy drawings and a slap-down coloring job.

Picture was inspired a bit after reading this great Reno fanfic: [link] ("The Things You Never Knew About People" Second from the bottom, five chapters out so far.) It's a really neat take on Reno - he's smart, smart-mouthed, and the fic gives him an unexpected but appropriate trait: he speaks "flawless gutter, street Wutai" which I really love, because it gives me flashbacks to when I was learning Mandarin in class (haha?). And I love little!Reno, too - such an adorable little punk!

So all right, that's all the pimping I'll do for today. As for the picture, I just wanted him looking relaxed. Reno's one of my favorite characters. I really like the characters that other characters tend to underestimate right until they kick you in the face.

Our favourite jackass-boy extraordinaire from FFVII - with his faithful nightstick, of course. Which I drew to thin, as someone pointed out. Tons of other things wrong with this, like his right leg, and the fact that this isn't a humanly possible position to sit in. As another person pointed out, this pose is especially impossible "for someone who has ADHD like him."
Oddly enough that after watching Advent Children, I wasn't as interested in the "heroes" of FFVII as much as I was interested in the Turks. And also oddly enough, I lost my penchant of being interested in depressed/maniacal middle-aged men and got fascinated by Reno. I want to pull his cheeks and mess up his hair even more. ^^
I liked his character design better in the game and in Last Order, where he was more lanky. I don't think I've quite expressed that either...

My first try at making Reno, from FF7. He's been my fav. character ever since I saw AC.

I had to think of that old cigarette commercial the whole time while coloring this, the one with the cowboys and that "Welcome to Marlboro Country" thing going on...

... and it led me to the late connection between those monsters in FF7 and FF8 called "Marlboro" that put nasty status ailments on your characters (with an attack called "Bad Breath", no less) and the cigarette brand of the same name. Cigarettes, Final Fantasy, chain smoking characters like Cid and Marlboro/s... there must be a way to make fun of that, but I can't think of one right now...
