Choice of Cosplay: Were you asking for it?Cross posted from my Multiply and Liveju blogs.
Disclaimer: A lot of you know me in the cosplay community, and some of you might think that my words may represent the community or organization im involved in. These thoughts are my own based from my own observation. Blame anyone else and ill just laugh at your expense. Thanks.</i>
Bear with me for adding another thought regarding the cosplay scene, i cant help it if certain issues or stories end up quite thought provoking.
Stories of cosplayers being harassed by some spectators are the common buzz in the community recently, and it had me thinking, what provoked these people to commit such actions that are considered unappropriate by the cosplayers themselves?
There are already tips and suggestions focused towards the audience on how to treat cosplayers. Now in this blog, id like

As of now, my brain is too fried to write up a proper journal entry about our volcano GARventure, and one of my usual event reports (as you can see on the right side of my journal) about Cosplay Mania, but I'd like to take this chance to share a part of our lecture of sorts at the Cosmania cosplay workshop last Sunday.
China snowpeachdrop, Kat moonlightflight, El rosiael and I were invited to talk about general cosplay planning, like fabric selection, wig styling, cosplay makeup and photography. My friends might post the other parts, but for now here is our silly guide about posing for cosplay photos, and convention etiquette. The actual presentation was actually longer, and with lots more examples, but here is a condensed rundown of what we talked about, fo

100TC gets interactiveHey guys, new feature for you!100TC gets interactive3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A while ago dragonee contacted the group about an application he had made, offering it up for our use. The simple app opens in your browser and lets you pick a theme from whichever variation you're doing.
In Michals words, right now no login is required, the application remembers your current theme even if you close your browser window, so it's really easy to use.
Using this app is such an easy way to keep a simple record of your progress of 100TC, here's how it works:
This is the main page you'll see when you first use it, hit the "get my first theme" button.
Once you've completed the theme just hit the "OK, completed" button to get your next theme.
You'll notice in the top left corner there's a handy counter to tell you how many out of 100 you've done and how many you have left. Which variation you're working on is also displayed below and to the right of the theme.

Just wanna clarify for what I mean by "getting through the list before hiatus"---that does not include the moved section, so if you moved your slots, yup! next time.
Also, there is NO guarantee that I will get through the list before hiatus. As what I have said before, no obligation is made unless I have taken your payment, and you are free to cancel slots if you no longer desire to wait.
3/12 STATUS : CLOSED THANK UUU
I'm trying to save up in order to survive over hiatus (starting from mid April to end of summer) AqA
So will try to get till the end of the list before then
Since I noticed it is rather hard for some of you to grab a slot when the journal opens, so I decided to do this in another way, hopefully more of you will be able to get a chance!

Cosplay makeup tips! Here's some tips on cos MAKEUP!Cosplay makeup tips!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
These are my recommended things to do with your make up you don't have to read this!
Use sugar and honey on your lips before anything! Combine a little bit of honey and lots of sugar in a small container, and then rub it on! It really does help with the overall look, nobody likes cracked lips yuck! Lols After you do that use a CHAPSTICK, NOT LIPGLOSS, then lipstick or whatevers.
If you're a girly girl use a shimmer over pink lipstick (ex. Lolitas/ Dolly/ Fairy Kei)
Little bit of red blended for general girl cos lol.
NUDE lipstick for crossplaying boys! (Or concealer)
Deep red or black for more dramatic characaters.
If you have more thick eyebrows: Use concealer first then wait for it to dry a little. After put on white glue, nontoxic, NO SUPER GLUE. After, trace your eyebrows using watercolors or eyeliner. In heat, this method won't wear off!
If you have more thin eyebrows: Use a little glue on the insides of your e

Disclaimer : Please keep in mind that I've tried to simplify this group's theme/ workload as much as i can due to time restraints. The story is not far in depth that demands strict activity from its members or complicated events. It is simply an idea for a plot that I would like to share with others who may possibly be interested in sharing this world with me too by creating characters to fit in it. AKA there are a lot of loopholes if you try to think too deep into this...cr..ies.. I won't be participating as a character, I will just be using the conductor most likely.
This group is not based on usual activity of a point system. The only type of award that is given is the increased % of surviving a requiem arc during a group wide event.
Musicians, those chosen for their musical talent and untimely death, were given a second chance to live. In return for extending their lifespan, the conductor has demanded thei

Hey everyone ^O^
I've been experimenting with my art lately and I've decided it would be good practice to open up commissions using my new tweaked style. My style is still a little inconsistent because I've been trying out new things, for that reason I've made these commissions cheaper than what I'd normally charge.
For a limited time only
I'm not sure if anyone would be interested but here are the prices below:

First of all, let me warn you that by the end of this journal entry, you may find yourself sick of my face. (If you aren't already.) I'll be using mostly myself as an example for the things I'm going to discuss, because I'm the only person I can poke fun at without restrictions.
I get asked a lot of questions about these cosplay photos that most of you have come to know me for. Sometimes it's about the techniques we use, requests for tips and advice for other people who want to do something similar. Other times, the comments come from people who aren't familiar with cosplay, but are curious about it and are interested to know more. So I thought of making this li

Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQSince I get asked the same questions about this costume a lot, I figured I'd write up an FAQ for interested parties:Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQ4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Q: Where did you get your wig?
A: My Finn made it for me. It was made out of two long wigs-- one 48 inch, one 60 inch. They were purchased on Ebay. I don't know the seller, sorry!
Q: How did you do the makeup?
A: It is Ben Nye Character Series cream makeup in Ghoul Grey (CB-8). It was applied using latex makeup sponges and sealed with Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and hairspray. I do not recommend using hairspray unless you have someone helping you apply the makeup.
You can buy it here: http://www.frendsbeautysupplyonline.com/bennyecharacterbasecb-8ghoulgrey.aspx for only $3.40!
Q: How much makeup did you use?
A: Evicted! : Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
Henchmen: Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
It Came From the Nightosphere**: Minimum Coverage (face, neck, hands)
Heat Signature: Medium

On misunderstandings about cosplayThis is a topic I've been meaning to talk about for quite a while now. I finally got the motivation to when Sarah sorairo-days emailed me to share my thoughts on what cosplay means to me, and what I feel it really means to be a cosplayer despite all the misconceptions about the hobby. It's for this article on Random Nerds, in which Sarah shares her side of it as well.On misunderstandings about cosplay3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Over the years, I've witnessed how cosplayers are constantly looked down upon, which makes people apprehensive towards it. It's such a shame because it's a wonderful and rewarding hobby which brings people together. And in general, I am firmly against making anyone feel bad about doing something they want to do.
I am aware that the concept of cosplay might be too much for some individuals, but our intention definitely isn't to get all up in everyone's faces and say everyone should cosplay or whatever. We just want to promote a
