"WHERE CAN I GET SAI?"
[link] this is the official site, where you can get a free trial for one month, after that you must buy it..... yes, piracy DOES exist but i won't tell you where.

"CAN I DO THIS WITHOUT A TABLET?"
It's not easy, but yes, you can. The result might not be exactly the same but you can get a similar work. But you have to arrange the transparency and other features of each brush to achieve certain effects. How? Well, i don't know, i don't paint with my mouse for more than 3 years so i forgot how to do it.

"CAN I USE THIS WITH OTHER PROGRAMS?"
Yes, you can. Not everything, but at least the coloring technique.

"IS THERE SAI VERSION FOR MAC?"
No, but there are other good programs for MAC, you can try those.

"WHAT'S THE SUPR BUTTON?"
Sorry people, i don't own a laptop with the keyboard in english, so i think you have it as "delete"

"WHITE LAYER AND DARK LAYER... I JUST DON'T GET IT"
[link] check this small pic to understand how to arrange them. Why do i use them? As you see, i paint and my color doesn't respect the lineart at first, so i erase later... to find every part that i wanna erase, instead looking at a white background i use the dark layer. Also, if the white layer is well done enough, i can select it, invert it and erase the parts that i don't need without using the eraser -which takes more time-
=A= well... as it's kinda hard to explain and stuff... I've made another pic to explain it as a step by step... Some of you might notice the good side of using both... if you don't it's fine... that step is optional anyway. [link]

Anyway a lot of people asks me this even if the answer is big, with examples and clear, so i won't reply to that question again.

This is how I color skin in my anime styled drawings. :iconadachimurdersplz:
I dunno if this'll help anyone but imma upload it anyway.

I don't feel that verbal today so there's probably tons of typos and such.
I know that many had hoped a drawing tutorial not a coloring tutorial, but asdfgh these things take so much time to make, anatomy tutorials even more, so I can't really promise when I'll get one done.

I really hope this will be useful for some people. I know I'm not saying anything "new" but I've did my best to include some stuff that usually i don't read at some SAI or coloring tutorials.

Thanks if you read it all. I know sometimes it might be boring, having so much text for a simple coloring step, but as english isn't my main language, I felt I had to be more specific with descriptions -anyways, sorry if my english isn't good enough or sounds like when a song is played over and ooooover again-

>3< Fullview of course, or you won't read anything hehehe.

OMAGAH I GOT A DD!!! THANKS TO EVERYONEEEE! *3* THIS IS MY FIRST DD AND I'M SOOOO HAPPY!

MAJOR EDIT: for those of you who already seen the tutorial you can see there are some changes but i've only added more info...the brushes you had in the old tut are still there plus a few new ones and better explained. i really hope this is useful cuz lol...its the best deviation i got lol
here is the old one if you think its more useful : [link]

warning! my english is not that good...so some sentences wont make sense.

second tut : [link] more of a drawing process

ahh...this was confusing to do,i probably left out a couple of things... oh well

first off...i made this tutorial at the request of :iconsyerahn:

now...to analyze the hieroglyphs i scribbled there.

the color part...its kinda important which color you chose to highlight with and which to 'shadow' with...the complementary theory of colors is what i learn in school(kinda) and is how i usually use them.

next...when opening a new file no matter what the height and width of the canvas, the resolution should always be the highest you can type.it is very important!resolution= how many pixels there are per inch

next...sketch something and the ink with S-7 <--- again important!!

next...shade with brush tool, its very useful because it can blend( you can also make custom brushes out of this so it can blend moar! :3 ) then do details with water 10 or oil water also, you can go and blend even more with water tool, but i usually avoid that cuz it makes a lot of mess!

next...the 'special' highlights and 'shadows' are made by the proprieties of layers :normal for normal state ..multiply darkens ... addition acts as a highlighter ... and %A%e(that how its written in my sai version) burns the drawing with the color you select! very important that you use these in moderation (as in using lowering the opacity of the layer)

thats kinda all

if anyone doesnt understand something please tell me so i can clarify.

some of the brushes here i found on devart or youtube, and some were default. but i dont remember from who orz. if you recognize them i would really like to credit them

Here is the SAI tutorial I promised (a looong long time ago)

This tutorial isn't about the techniques or coloring styles but the TOOLS and their settings I use.

In most tutorials the artists don't mention what brush-settings they use they only explain HOW they use them for their techniques.
So I made a tutorial with my brush settings, so that it might help the beginners where and how to start with Sai and their tablet.

I forgot to mention that most of the time I only recline upon pen pressure so that I don't change anything in the brush settings.

But I really hope it can help you all!

PS: Sorry for the grammar and typo mistakes XDD
