The Wizard of ThOz: Chapter 1A large group of children gathered in a circle near a chair. It was story time in the newly created MHHQ daycare, and the children seemed rather excited about the event. Along one wall was a couch, where the most famed Maverick Hunter sat. Mega Man X had his eyes closed, his hands behind his head, enjoying his little break. He had spent a good amount of time playing with the little rascals, and they eventually tired him out. He had always heard that children had more energy than people could handle. But he never expected that they could tire a reploid! That's why he was glad Alia decided to take over for a while, letting Pallette and Layer handle the few missions that were going on today. The Wizard of ThOz: Chapter 19 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
X heard the door open and opened one eye. He spotted Axl walk in, grabbing a chair. X merely lifted an eyebrow. Axl looked to the tired reploid and waved. "I decided to stick around, in case things got out of hand."
X suppressed a laugh, mumbling, "Where were you when I needed you?" Axl didn't seem to

We never really did get each other,
Why did you break me and mommys heart?
Remember when you went to rehab?
Remember when you came back drunk?
Remember when you beat poor mom,
and how she begged for you to stop?
Remember when you cried that night,
And promised you would change?
I remember when I realized,
That you would always be the same
With a beer in your hand
A glazed look in your eyes,
Sometimes I would just ask god,
-Please make daddy die -
I remember when mommy sat me down,
She couldnt breathe from all the crying
-Papi has cancer Daniel, your fathers dying-
I jumped up from the sofa and screamed You know hes lying!
But for once you told the truth.
The doctors showed me all the proof.
Why was I so damn cold, why was it so hard for me to get??
I was losing you my one and only dad, with every painful breath

Stereotyping, patriarchy, and objectification -
Women keep claiming to be subjects of such oppression.
Apparently, I'm a victim of social, political, and economic segregation.
I search my memory to remember such crime
But all I recall is my mother saying, "Men are all pigs,"
As she pigged out in front of Lifetime.
But I admit at this time in my life
She might not be the best example of reason and rhyme
So I turn to my peers who are "down" with the times.
But all I see are girls complaining about all the weight they've been gaining
Or the orgasms they've been feigning
Or how "Mike keeps looking at my chest and doesn't listen to what I'm saying"
As they adjust their push-up bras, ignoring all laws of decency.
And is it hard to see why this "feminism" confuses me?
You screetch and preach for rights and fight for equality
While the reality shows that you've fashioned your lifestyles into some reality show
That is the very essence of inequality that you claim to be fighting against.

"Give it up, Henderson," a young soldier with sandy brown hair shook his head as his compatriot continued to poke his head into the empty cupboards of the evacuated buildings.
"Come on, just a few more," the other called back. "They can't have taken everything with them. There's bound to be some food or a bottle around here someplace."
"There probably is," Edwards shot back with a deep sigh, "but it's getting dark and we need to get back to the regiment before the sergeant has us swinging KP duty for the rest of our tour."
"Alright, alright," Henderson shrugged reluctantly as he closed yet another empty cabinet. "Just one more house."
"You look through one more," Edwards shook his head with a small smirk at his friend's tenacity…or maybe it was stupidity, he could never quite decide which. "I'm heading back while I can still see the way."
"Fine, I'll see you back at camp," Henderson called after him as he slipped back into the waning light, "

A Lesson On Brick CareA Lesson On Brick Care9 years ago in Humor More Like This
Bricks are excellent pets. As well as being cheap, clean and easy to care for, they are extremely long-lived. They are extraordinarily loyal and have few requirements for housing and feed. They are very hardy, do not trigger allergies and extremely easy to tame. They rarely scratch, but can be a nuisance if left underfoot. However, with proper treatment, you and your brick should have a long and loving relationship. The most common brick is the Common House Brick (brickus brickus), which is normally a red colour. They also appear as other colours, ranging from a creamy-white, to black. Brown is another popular colouration, as there are many shades of brown bricks. The more unusual a brick is in colour, the more expensive.
Bricks have been associated with humans for many years, but are most often used as working bricks. They have only recently been adapted as pets. Closely related to the brick is the rock (rockus granus), which has become quite popular as a pet in recent decades. Hopefu

Drizzling rain fell on the sidewalk. Little to no traffic in the city. Only the rare sounds of dogs barking made the area feel barely alive. It was midnight.
Everyone in the city was inside their homes, either sleeping or enjoying late night television. The feeling of sadness resonated through the area. The rain made the sidewalks feel like ice rinks for most people.
There was only one figure walking through the rain silently. She was not a human, but she was not an animal. Her name was simply Skyla.
Skyla looked at the sidewalk as she walked, ignoring the rain that fell on her. Her tail bobbled up and down slowly. Wrapped around her legs and wrists were light blue squiggly lines that looked like frequencies.
She did not have two eyes to see with. Only one of her eyes was open, while the other eye was stitched shut and covered by her hair. Her only eye, however, glimmered

Yoshi leapt onto the arena floor and started doing the same kind of dance Yoshi's do when they're happy, to greet his fans.
"And now..... Zelda!" Zelda slowly pulled herself up onto the arena, and stood up, rubbing her eyes and yawning. Peach, Mario, Luigi and Link were all in the crowd watching. Link looked equally tired.
"Why are you two so tired?" Mario asked.

While on the inside, I slowly begin to die.
Goodbye Meema... Chapter 1Goodbye Meema... Chapter 13 months ago in General Fiction More Like This

It was supposed to be a peaceful afternoon in my home. I was sleeping with my meema in our secure home, which looked like a little cave sticking out in the open. It was comfortable inside her red mane of hair. Meema was a Zoroark, and I was a Zorua. My Meema was much taller than I am, and she walked on two legs, and she had arms and red claws. She was not a human, but she was a Pokémon, just like me!
I had been sleeping inside our little cave for a few hours, until I heard a noise outside. Immediately, I stuck my head out of my meema’s hair and went outside. Meema was still asleep, so I could explore without her worrying about me. When I walked outside, I saw a huge light orange dragon with small wings. He was also standing on two legs, and I thought he was going to attack us, but by the looks on his face, he seemed peaceful. My meema told me a few days ago that this creature was a

Then I sit back and wait because you seem to be typing an awful lot,

So I ask you "whats up?"
and fade away into a thought bubble
where your eyes are deep brown-

Your blonde curls sway in the wind of an oscillating fan-
like you were going down a slide,
And your typing fingers draw scenes
with white sidewalk chalk
of squirrels crawling up pine trees
while rain spews down on a triangle house

I'm just afraid that at the end of it,
I wont have any more friends.

***Tips For the Novice (and otherwise) - Editing***
The blanket statement, "Editing/revision harms poetry," is simply wrong. It's akin to a photographer claiming that focusing the lens ruins the emotion of the photograph. It is the details, and the appropriate attention paid to them, that separate a photograph from a snapshot. Imagine a film maker slapping every frame he shot up on the screen without editing for continuity, for pacing, for effect. What a disaster. That is not to say that editing can't be destructive - there is such a thing as poor editing, just as there is poor writing. But done correctly, done well, it is one of the most important tools in the poet's shed.
Never shy away from editing/revision. Some young writers feel that to revise is to kill the spirit of the poem. This notion serves to sacrifice the potential of a poem for an ideal that
