I haven't always been a cat. I was, in fact, at one time a relatively happy human being. Inside I still am one. Thanks to that witch, though, I'm a cat to everyone else. At least, I think it was the witch who changed me. It might actually have been the cats themselves who transformed me to save me from the witch's curse. A little known fact if you ever happen to be in a magical duel: curses aimed at humans don't "stick" to animals. Regardless of how it happened, though, I'm still a cat.
When a person becomes a cat, they learn some new things. For example, that scraggly old cat I used to know at Mr. Fluffybottom is really a cat elder

Have You Forgotten?Have You Forgotten?7 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Have you forgotten what happened that day?
How we all screamed and ran and covered our eyes
How death ended so many precious lives
How children cried for moms and dads
Who would never come to comfort them again.
Have you forgotten the images we saw?
How the smoke filled the screen
How the screams filled our ears
How perfect strangers huddled together
The rich and the poor trying to comfort one another
Have you forgotten the brave sacrifice?
How people ran in when everyone else ran out
How they battled the flames and the smoke
How they went back again and again
And went back one last time, and won't go home again.
Have you forgo

Ive built walls around myself. A strong but simple fortress of four walls. Theyve weathered brutal assaults, hurricanes of emotion painstakingly sorting the waters of mine and foreign emotions, and keeping them separate. Now one by one, theyre being torn down.
It all started as a normal day at work. My office was blissfully silent, its four walls mirroring my own. Form after form is skimmed, filled out, tossed aside. Numbers, names, data, Im only paid to analyze them. I barely glance at the names as I review employee evaluations. Thats someone elses concern; Im not responsible for break

Life just threw me
Another high flying curve ball
And I'm just standing here
Afraid to swing
Afraid I'll strike out
But you know, I've realized
That if I don't try, I'll always fail
Chorus:
I need to step out
Get tough
Play rough
Face the scary things in life
So why am I still sitting here?
I need to step out
I'm not afraid to get dirty
I'm not afraid to fall
I know how it is
It hurts
It stinks
But I've done them both so many times
I don't fear doing it again
Chorus:
I need to step out
Get tough
Play rough
Face the scary things in life
So why am I still sitting here?
I need to step out
And sometimes just walking fo

Dullness rests over me
Like a blanket
Hopelessness sits beside me
As company to a weary soul
I feel dead
Dead inside
Dead to the world
My mind sleeps
In dark despair
My heart breaks in anguish
I am surrounded
Yet totally alone
As none can pierce the darkness
That now surrounds me
The icy numbness
Pervades my body
Chilling me to reality
Keeping my heart
From the truth
Sheltering me
From the light of day
I hide in the darkness, alone
Unable to face the world
Or its many sorrows
All I can do is sit silently
Here in my little corner
And cry out with my mind,
Screaming to the heavens

My AngelMy Angel8 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
To this day I will swear to you that he is an angel. Now granted, most angels don't have wavy red hair or honey brown eyes that you could just melt in, but he did. He was a quiet man, one who you might not notice if you weren't paying attention. It is said that he is one of the best healers the world has ever seen. I'm quite willing to believe that, considering what I have seen him do during the relatively short time I have had the privilege of watching him. Some people claim that he uses magic to heal his patients, but as of yet I haven't seen him use anything more than a bandage or a bundle of herbs to treat me. He often bows his head

Ambrosio in HellDarkness, darker than the darkest night, deeper than the depths of the ocean was nothing and everything. Darkness was, and reigned. Darkness was Ambrosios every conscious notion. Eternity had come and gone, or so it seemed, and still He languished. His tormentors had left him only after six days and seven nights, He knew the passage of time only from the Demons that did attend him. In the day the demons touch burned like fire. In the night, their rotten limbs froze him to the core. For those long days and nights they had tortured him to his limits and beyond, pulling, stretching, twisting, and morphing his malleable Soul so thatAmbrosio in Hell6 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This

The Undefeated KnightThe Undefeated Knight6 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Gallant knight, brave and bold, forward go
Championing justice for both high and low
Long ago, parents did name him Bob
And raised him eating corn on the cob
For a peasant farmer's son was he
Until called to battle for both king and country
He went forth with pitchfork, weapon of a farmer,
And absolutely awful abstracted armor
So strange he looked that the enemy fell back in fear
Not wanting such a man to come them near
And so the battle turned into a rout
Without any real fighting to brag about
As a celebrated hero returns now the knight
Never having fought in this or any other fight

"Haha, I've got you this time, Yahweh!" The young man crowed as he rounded the corner of the garden path. Like always, his robes were slightly askew, revealing more of his muscular form than was necessary. Though he tried, he couldn't keep the excited expression from his handsome face.
"What is it now, Lucifer?" Asked Yahweh. He didn't move from where he sat, head bowed, eyes closed, white hair flowing gracefully around him. "You have disturbed my meditation once again, and for one of your silly extended metaphors, no less."
"I know, Yahweh, I know," Lucifer replied, his words fraught with frustration as he sat beside his master in th

Said one of the creatures. He wore thick, black boots that stopped halfway to his knee. His loose fitting pants, which were tucked into his boots, reached up to his waist where they were met by his leather belt. His belt held a knife to his left side, and his gun sheath to his right. He wore a black T-Shirt under his Kevlar vest. His long, muscular arms were tented greenish-blue. The clawed fingers of his right hand clenched a large black gun. Succubus
Resembles a human or elven female and has the ability to mimic their form for a time. When resembling a human female, she speaks primarily German, and has a slight German accent when speaking.
She bleeds intermittently from her pale skin, her hair is red and eyes are fully red excepting the pupil, which is white. Sharp teeth and a snakelike tongue, but easily covered by her lips. She radiates heat just warm enough to make one sweat.
Her long, red hair flows down her back, draped over her abused AR-15. As it looks now, her long bangs are tucked behind slightly pointed ears, and smudges of dirt cover her pale face. B

Hush little one, My sweet little child,
Cry you not this long night
To river we go, where you hath played
Many a bright summer's day
Fear not, my child, the end is swift and silent,
So hush now my little one
Miss you I shall, even 'fore sight of you is gone,
For we shall not meet again
Sweet little one, I wish I could keep you,
But that is not to be so
In times when evil deeds prevail,
You are too pure to stay
So you must go where they cannot find you,
Please find peace where you lay
Hush little one, My sweet little child,
Cry you not this long night
