One Man's TrashGot it cheap at a thrift store,
left by some anonymous patron:
maybe an old woman,
cleaning out a closet,
significance lost to time and a
fine coat of dust?
Or did she suffer the loss when
she passed it, still on a hanger,
to the man at the counter?
Did she falter when he offered
only a smile and a "we'll be happy
to take it off your hands" as condolence,
like he'd be doing a great service,
bargaining off her past.
Then "keep only what you use"
the mantra of some clutter-busting
self-help book drowns out
the fifty-year-old strains of "Sleepwalk"
from a high school prom
and her hand slips from the fabric,
saying "You can have it,
God knows I'll never need it again."

No move I ever make,

every simple thing I say,

I'm sorry I'm not perfect,
the way I'm supposed to be,
the thing is your slowly killing me,
why can't you see?
I'd really like to run away,
where someone would understand,
to someone who could see my pain,
and gently take my hand.

men who'd pay for my half-size

how stunning I look, but take no interest
in anything I have to say.
So I can be what I've always hated
and everyone else always wanted:
bleached blonde and bronze
So I can feel the slow
rise of collarbone, ribcage through skin
and know that I'm finally fitting
in as I feel the deflation of
personality: turn on the bubbly,
learn to flirt, be objectified,
smile when the wolves
me hungry-eyed stares.

clawing at every inch
of my body.
That little voice inside my head
sounding strangely like my own,
tearing me down,
from the inside.
Each hate-filled blow,
hits harder than the last.
Each self-inflicted cut,
hidden in shame,
nonexistent to the piercing eyes of others,
visible only in that lonely mirror reflection.
little dotted lines drawn
over every flawed bit of me.
Not pretty enough,
There is not a perfect inch
within my being.
Why can't I be beautiful?

Let me die,
It hurts to live,
Let me die,
My soul to give.
I want to die,
Give me rest,
I don't want to try,
Just a bullet in the chest.
Every acrid breath makes sweet death,
Like the gentle touch of a lovers caress.
Let me die,
I beg you please,
Pain and disease
Are only a tease.
Give me a place,
Where I can be free,
Where demons wont chase,
And torture me

Shattered girl, broken glass
pulled upon by the growing mass
weary eyed and sinking low
she wished this fast paced world to slow
by herself, she walks alone
becoming colder, made of stone
She lays down on her comfy bed
as thoughts of love, leave her head
All the truths, and all the lies
have all darkened, her once blue skies
So in the darkness of her room
she sits and ponders her current doom
For she has loved and lost
and should her soul be the cost?
you should have seen her, those last few days
when all her colors turned to greys
When all her life, darkened in
because of your every sin
Because you broke her fragile heart
She turned and ripped herself apart

Just yesterday you were holding my hand,
Just yesterday you gave me a wedding band,
Just yesterday you said I do and,
Just yesterday you said you loved me too.
Just yesterday you told me you cared,
Just yesterday you told me about the love we shared,
Just yesterday you said you'd never leave and,
Just yesterday that was all I needed to believe.
Just yesterday you were near,
Just yesterday they told me something I did'nt want to hear,
Just yesterday they buried you deep and,
Just yesterday thoughts of you kept me from sleep.
Just yesterday I finally came to see you,
Just yesterday I missed you more than I usually do and,
Just yesterday I remembered again how much I need you.
Just yesterday has come and gone and,
Just yesterday is just a memory of all that went wrong.

I can almost see the wind blow.
It brings back memories,
memories of you.
The way you used to smile,
you know, back we were two.
three musketeers minus one, "best friends".
The warth of your hug,
and those silly jokes you told,
while trying to cheer me up, force one smile out of me.
I opened up to you, telling you everything.
& now thinking back I realize...
you told me nothing.
Nothing worth knowing, anyway.
Whatever happened? Did you just get bored?
I'm not always cheery, not always interesting,
but I thought best friends was more than that.
Maybe I was too eager,
eager to believe I finally had someone,
some to call my best friend.
you were the closest to it,
almost the closest I'd ever had.
now you're just every other "friend" in the hallway.

You had forgotten about me, hadn't you? I can't even recall the last time there was something between us. At long last you remembered whom you'd vent old emotions with, only to create new ones afterwards. Whatever your mood was, I was ready for our little games. Remember?
Now...don't expect everything to be the way you left it. It's no secret that you've been out there spying other couples, and whenever you got motivation to come back to me, you set it aside, favoring mundane pleasures that didn't take long to die.
I forgive you.
For all this time I've done nothing but think of your return.
I’m here just for you.
Of course, you have to start doing your own part, and you better put effort this time. You can start by telling me what you're like nowadays. What have you done lately? What dreams, ambitions and fantasies are still there from the old times? Do you still have that peculiar vision of life, which got us together in the first place? From that moment, there w

Are you lonely ?
Lost within such a Labyrinthine heart,
Ruling from somewhere up so high,
Glaring down at me with those eyes
There you stand,
So opaque and obscure
With all the little pieces of us,
Twinkling in the distance,
Cannot fill the spaces between
Those that separate our hearts.
And I can't even say your name,
I wish I could just tell you
Someday I will find the strength
To say these words to you
What are you really playing at?

And you were once lost to me...
Though I'd searched, the place was never right
Timing was off just by a few minutes,
Moments slip like grains of sand
Falling down the hourglass of my heart...
From the moment I first saw you,
I know it sounds much too bold
But I knew you'd follow me home
From there, knew one day you'd be mine
To have and to hold,
Someone who compliments me perfectly,
Going hand in hand with my own ways
And so flawlessly intuned with my soul...
For so long I had wondered
Why there was so much darkness within me,
Why I was surrounded by it
Why it consumed me so completely...
But most of all, I wondered why...
It felt like I was missing half of myself,
Like I was incomplete
And without you, I am.
Without you, there can only be dark
There is no light,
And I know it's cliche' but...
You will always be my light
Even in all of this darkness.

Not even time can fathom
The end to it's fathomless depths
Just like the hole in your heart.
No one wants a broken toy,
That is all that I can ever be
Shameful to burden society
With my petty useless nonsense.
Your eyes betray
So much more than you allow them,
And you are so much more
Than you give yourself credit for.
Haunting melody that calls to me in silence,
As we're gazing at the stars together
Everything goes by,
And we're counting all the scars
One by one
And the hidden meaning behind
The look in your eyes
Says it all.

The sun has drawn its curtains,
the stars dance in the sky,
as butterflies kiss your sweet forehead,
I sing this lullaby.
The wind sighs in careless breezes,
and flowers fade away,
rest on feather pillows,
watch white sheets turn to grey.
Please rest well my lover,
I pray this slumber will not end,
as I'll tiptoe through the hallway,
and fuck your hot best friend.
