Harajuku style Lolita Ibuki, really?Do you guys seriously want her Lolita-ed out or do you want her in her tank top with short shorts?
I reworded it a bit, cause i just meant this type of clothing, it might not be necesasarily gothic, but predominately black and white which from what i understand is called gothic lolita, here's an example: http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-ca:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7SUNA&resnum=0&q=gothic%20lolita%20harajuku&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
It would be super challenging. I know there are a lot of people who want the tank and shorts, so don't worry i will figure something out so people are happy!
Its so close, I will check back again tomorrow in the morning when i get to work, so if you want yours to win, then get your friends and gang up on the poll!
Experiment Part 1: Training Your EyeSo my buddy karuvan is trying to learn how to draw properly. He's been on a roll as far as progressing. But he's stuck at a standstill. This is an experiment that I've done with him and that he's working on in order to train his eye. I decided to share the conversation and experiment with you guys for you all to apply to your study habits and advancement in drawing and art.Experiment Part 1: Training Your Eye3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Karuvan: I randomly drew over my old pic. Ain't gonna do it over, was just curious on how much I could have done better.
Robaato: Quick question... like... who's work at this point do you really want yours to be close to? I'm tryna gauge what level you're trying to achieve.
K: lol... Joel is becoming a huge influence.
R: Ok. I have a test for you.
R: I want you to replicate this picture exactly as it is to the best of your ability:
Back from Japan!I usually don't vacation very well since I love my work. As much as I enjoyed the time there and the new things I saw, I missed work dearly, especially 5C.Back from Japan!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Japan feels so familiar to me that it doesn't have the allure of a mysterious country yet it's still quite enjoyable! I went to Akihabara and got a cheap model in a second hand shop of a Toyota Hiace, and also got some Deleter paper for me to work on new pages with since its so cheap there.
In the next few days i will find out the next batch of work for me to work on. I have exhausted my funds and will start to work on paying work. This means 5C will be a on a bit of a hold which is not news to any of you.
Depending on the work load, I will open for commissions in the next month or so. Hopefully, i can save up enough to work on another 15 - 20 pages. I don't like the idea of switching between normal work and 5C since once I get in the mode, things become very clear.
I have been receiving a lot of compliments on the pacing and writin
Some words for 2015This is what i wish for you in the coming year:Some words for 201511 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
1. I hope you accept your art the way it is more.
2. I hope you will compare your art less with other's art.
3. I hope you erase less and draw more.
4. I hope you forgive your mistakes and see them for what they are, steps forward.
5. I hope you see your art for what it is but especially for what it can be.
6. I hope you draw less of what others expect to see you draw and more of what made you want to start drawing in the first place.
7. I hope that when you see a beautiful drawing, it inspires you to try harder rather than quit.
8. I hope you don't cringe when you stumble on your old art and instead be amazed at how much you improved.

Some Simple AdviceBizzarely, as if the universe just went 'okay people - ask now!' Just in one day today ive has so many pm's from various boards and whatnot from young / new artists asking me about what the secret is, how do I get better, what can i do, or i wish i could make stuff like you. Some Simple Advice3 years ago in Personal More Like This
My advice is actually pretty simple. I gaurantee if you do this repeatedly everything else will take care of itself.
Step 1: Make some time for making art.
Step 2: Get everything prepared before hand, drinks, snacks, music - whatever you need to see you through the next couple of hours for your personal art jam.
Step 3: Unplug your internet.
Step 4: Make art.
I think too many people, especially young artists trying to find their way are looking too hard for something that doesnt even exist. Theres no secret formula, no awesome serum to drink. Just sit down and make art, and keep doing that over and over and over.
Free yourself of burden and distraction for that hour or couple of hours and just do it. Thats all it i
Personal updateIt's been a while... But hey, here we go.Personal update10 months ago in Art Features More Like This
I've been having a break for the last few months, and for a good reason -- a lot of shit happened. The break gave me a lot of time to think about stuff. During that time I've seriously considered not coming back at all. But the friendly but concerned messages that I received from those that were still following me kinda persuade me to keep things updated -- at least once in a while.
I've most spend the last few weeks creating stuff in solitude. I haven't spend much time on social media, but made lots of sketches, speed paints, and concepts and chapters for my story. And I have to admit, I kinda came to like that silence. Social media --any kind of social media, DA included-- is like a black hole. It's easy to lose time that could've better spend creating. It's easy to lose focus. And it's easy to become numb by the continuous chatter. Because on the internet every person has an opinion on everyone and their moms, and not seeing the face of the
Happy holidaysHey guys.Happy holidays1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
It's been quite a while since the last update.
As I've gotten quite the number of concerned messages over time, I wanted to let you know that I'm still alive. I'm doing okay, as far as my current health situation allows it.
As far as my creative process goes, I'm doing great. I've been experimenting with various art types and painting styles, and it feels like that alone already allows for more freedom of expression.
It might probably be another while before I regain the time, confidence, and (mainly) energy to frequently update, reply, and share with the world again. But I hope you'll be able to bear with that.
To those that sticked around for so long...
I wish you happy holidays and all the best for 2015.
May your artistic ability's (and all life quality's) far exceed those of 2014.

Challenge me, art-wise!It took a while to realize that, no matter how pretty the last few sketch-dumps where, I wasn't really learning anymore.Challenge me, art-wise!2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Sometimes a large user-base just feels like pressure. And pressure makes it feel like you can't afford to fail anymore. And you'll stay inside your comfort zone. And with result. Last years improvement was close to non-existent. But I realize now that staying in my comfort zone will not get me anywhere.
The lack of improvement and recent login issues made me think. So I went back at where I came from. I took a pencil and started sketching again. Real, ugly sketches, with a lot of wobbly lines and such. Anatomy, dogs, and various other things. I realize now; I want to keep this up. Really. I want to draw things that are (slightly) out of my comfort zone, in order to learn.
And I want you
Merry Christmas + premium sub. Dragoniad challengeThank you for all the birthday wishes! I will reply to all but they are so many, it may take a while. I will get to all of them eventually. You guys are great I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you Happy Holidays!Merry Christmas + premium sub. Dragoniad challenge1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
In other news, I have started a series of 12 dragons this Christmas and it would be so much more fun if you guys would join in and do it with me. So I challenge you to a Dragoniad! And to make it worth while I will throw in a three month premium membership for one lucky deviant
So how does this work? I will be drawing 12 dragons but you can draw as many as you like, one or more, depending on how your muse favors you or whatever else is driving your pencil. One drawing is enough to enter the raffle and skill level will not be taken into account. Submit your dragon to dA (pretty obvious but, you know...) and note me with a link to your deviation and I will post a thumb link to your deviation in the artist comment section of my next dragon submission. Im a 3d Character Artist, why do i need 2D skills?I was asked this a couple of times recently from students, thought i would share my thoughts here with you guys n girls.Im a 3d Character Artist, why do i need 2D skills?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
My answer consists of 2 things:
1. Because 2d helps to rapidly build a visual library of self-knowledge in your brain, which ultimately through focus and repetition translates into 'artistic instinct'.
2. Because 2d is much faster to iterate with, enabling more rapid development of 'artistic instinct'.
Have you ever noticed when watching a master artist at work, that the subject seems to come alive so quickly, or that meaningful lines, shapes or silhouettes jump out right away, and then think:
'They seem to know exactly what shapes to put where, how to nail the composition so quickly, how to draw everything perfectly, without even thinking about it!!'
This is artistic instinct.
What you are watching is an artist call upon their whole lives worth of visual library development and self-knowledge, expressed using their 'artistic instinct' in the form of the subject.

Ramblings about 'internet fame'A lot of stuff has happened lately in life lately, and is has made me think about things, and about my perspective on it. One of those things, is the internet.Ramblings about 'internet fame'2 years ago in Personal More Like This
As some of you know, I'm a huge nerd. While as kid, I didn't had a computer at home, and I hated those damn machines because I wasn't able to work with them at all (so much fail T__T), I soon caught up when I got my first computer at age 14. And while most of my family expected me to end up as a hopeless internet addict, I soon started to learn myself how to program. The rest is history. With my 26th birthday, I also celebrated being a webprogrammer for 10 years already. Oh yeah, I'm getting old for sure.
The recent chain of events have caused me to think about the internet and it's role in life, however. When I first started out with art, I was only a little girl. Me, and both of my younger sisters, were all very creative. And we spend almost all of our time drawing at the kitchen table, while discussing about the characters we
Japan Trip Diary Day 1One of my dreams just came true:Japan Trip Diary Day 11 year ago in Personal More Like This
I am in Tokyo right now! *__*
A little holiday for about 10 days!
If you are interested, I will share my impressions with you daily.
I visit Japan with :iconjunaavatari: in a group with a great tour leader who likes Manga/Anime herself! x3
I still can't realize it, but seeing all those Japanese signs and listening to the language, I should! >///<
After an 11-hours flight we arrived in Tokyo. While landing, I even saw the Mt. Fuji. I just wanted to have a shower and storage my suitecase in our hostel. We stay in Ryogoku which looks pretty nice.
For lunch our group went to a "fast food" store and I tried Udon noodles which I really liked!
Later we visited Shinjuku, a part of the city I know from some Anime. On the Shinjuku City Hall, we had an amazing view over the city. I was surprised that there hardly are any rubbish bins and the sun went down so fast at 4 p.m. already!
I decided to go shopping in the evening and so I bought some art supplies
Back from surgery (again)!Sooo.. I had yet another surgery yesterday.Back from surgery (again)!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I wasn't even expecting it! I had a checkup planned yesterday to see how my pacemaker battery was doing, and the doctor told me I needed to have it replaced within the next two months before it dies.
(A pacemaker [via Wiki] is a medical device wired up to the heart that uses electrical impulses to regulate the beating of the heart. The primary purpose of a pacemaker is to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart's natural pacemaker is not fast enough, or [in my case] there is a block in the heart's electrical conduction system.)
The doctor continued on asking me, "have you had anything to eat today?" in which I went.... "???"
I had only had two spoonfuls of yogurt that morning... and then she told me she was doing pacemaker operations that afternoon, and was able to get me in.
So I went in for a checkup and I came out from surgery with a new pacema

Appreciate Voice Overs and AnimatorsMarcia Wallace (Voice of The Simpsons Mrs. Krabappel) passed away and it's been a stark reminder to appreciate those who bring your favorite cartoons to life.Appreciate Voice Overs and Animators2 years ago in Personal More Like This
When we watch a cartoon, you don't really think about the people who voice them. They're just there. They don't seem to have age or a mortality to them. In our minds we tend to think of cartoons as immortal. You can drop an anvil on them and they just keep going. Unfortunately, those who give them life, through voice acting and animation, do not. Something to consider when watching any cartoon. Enjoy them, appreciate them. More importantly appreciate the talents behind them. They wont be around forever. (Myself included unfortunately) Stupid mortality.

Commissions are closed for now! Thank you everybody!
I'm not gonna lie, when I was writing that Journal yesterday I wasn't expecting by a long shot to see such a deeply touching solidarity from all of you people ;_; Like, all the advertising, support and stuff, is something that I haven't even thought about AT ALL. Holy shit, you're born amazing and lovely like that or you've taken some courses? What's your school?
How am I even supposed to find words that don't exist to properly thank you? This is almost embarrassing, I'm a bit caught off guard here I hafta admit x) Imagine a dummy on some theatrical improvisation stage and who finds nothing to say to his audience. I'm that dummy. In a trashbag dress. *shot*
I'll try to find something to thank all of you someday peeps. I don't know what yet. BUT I'LL FIND. ;n;
Anyways, I've reduced once again a little the prices of my SA Commissions, because uh... I feel sorta guilt to impose the normal price to all these people who

Uh, here's something I've been working on. Actually, this thing was done back in November though xD;;;.
um, I'll still be busy for a while preparing my portfolio stuff, so I can't guarantee I'll be on dA, but I will be on Tumblr because that's where I post WIPs (and complain about stuff, talk about stuff i don't think making a journal on dA is appropriate for cause i tend to delete my lil rants xD;; ). Does anyone want me to post my WIPs here too? I remember quite a few peopl

If you know of any Deviants that violate the rules, report them, and if necessary, send the info Kira-of-deviantART's way. I've seen them on every spammer account I've seen so far, even the ones that joined the very same day [it's not hard to catch spammers after they've spammed]. They've done a very good job at keeping dA as spam-free as possible, so if a Deviant needs banning, inform Kira-of-deviantART. They'll make short work of rule breakers.
I've gotten quite a few people banned lately.
