I spoke to Death one evening,
In shining bright twilight,
His voice was soft and gentle,
Like a summer bird in flight.
His wings were of the purest jet,
His eyes were timeless wise,
And he wore a cape of midnight blue,
With pretty silver ties.
The angel took my hand in his,
As we walked and spoke of much,
Of sadness and of laughter,
And how mortals tend to clutch,
At a tiny sliver, a little glint,
Of hope, no matter what,
And that in this, he admires us all,
Despite our troubled lot.
Then He expressed with much devotion,
With an ageless, timeless smile,
How my company amused him, now we'd been
Conversing for a while.
"In all my years," the angel sighed,
"Most have run or fled,
But you, sweet child, were not afraid,
Nor filled with thoughts of dread."
"My eternal task is lonely,
And I am bound by Almighty Law,
To deliver souls and guide them,
To lofty Heaven's door."
"But I have never passed a judgement,
Nor ever started wars,
Yet I, the angel Azriel, am blamed-
Waiting For YouA tear stricken pillow remained locked in the red haired girl's arms. Pain and tears stained her face. Quivering in her warm bed her heart bursting repeatidly with sobs of sorrow. Her face buried in her pillow as she clung helplessly to it, screaming out her anguish. Sobbing at images that passed through her mind as her love was taken from her again and again. Swallowing her emotions, she threw her tears from her face, wiping herself clean. Words of undying love filled her heart.Waiting For You8 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Her glassy irises gazed slowly over his artworks. She gasped shortly. Her heart lifted. Her attention held on her favorite piece. His arms wrapped strongly around her. He smiled lovingly into her deep blue eyes. She held his waist, loving back into his eyes. The emotive paper hung upon her wall by three pieces of tape, never swaying as long as she watched for it to fall. Her fingers graced the page, trailing along the curve of his smile, emitting one from her lips. His voice rang their three words clearly upon
The Children of the ElementsProlouge:The Children of the Elements9 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Once every several centuries the five Guardian Elements would meet and dsicuss the goings on of the world they had created. The Guardian known to mortals as Spirit, eldest of the five was always the first to wake and call the others together. Everytime, the others would hurry from their perspective temples to meet in their brother's home temple, and everytime Earth-the youngest Guardian-arrived late. This time was no different.
Curse her, she always does this! Fire, the second oldest of the five complained. He was the most impatient of the group, and the first to lose his temper especially when it came to the youngest Guardian.
Calm down Brother, Water said softly. I'm sure she will arrive long before the night is done. Fire allowed himself to be soothed by Water's calm words and settled down, still grumbling.
She had better. Are you sure that you woke her Brother? The eldest Guardian sighed, long used to Fire's behavior.
Yes Brother, I'm sure.

The Ringmaster The card lay in the middle of the intersection, and though cars drove over it and past it, it remained in the same spot, unmarked and untouched. On the occasion that a stray dog would venture out to sniff at the card, the dog would whimper and back away. It certainly was not ordinary, and the dumpy bag lady waiting at the bus stop could tell. She considered herself an expert on the supernatural, having made a living as a psychic when she was younger. Still, her curiosity overcame her desire to stay out of the road, and leaving her bags, she walked cautiously to the center of the street, watching for cars. It was a playing card, and the face told her it was a joker card. But this was not what made her gasp in fear. The card was printed with a gold and black image; it was the long face of a man wearing a top hat, clawed hands stretched out. The old lady stared, a cold chi

Pandora layed there amongst the sand-washed beach, her body shaking and tears streaming down her face.
"These tears...as Epimetheus said, something so beautiful..how could I have caused so much evil? I am not beautiful..I am tainted. Please, Gods of Mount Olympus..I regret my sins..I wish to repent them here and now..please!"
A thundering voice commanded.
"Pandora! What have you done is unrepayable. You were told by Jupiter NOT to touch that box, for in it were the evils and troubles of humanity. Why did you open the box!?"
"Lord Zeus, I heard what seemed like troubled voices coming from the box...temptation is not always so easy to pass up, my lord, and thus, I opened the box in hope of freeing the troubled souls."

"You have an endless cruelty," I told him.
I knew Poppy was real. I didn't care if he didn't believe me. I didn't care if
no one else thought she was real. I could hold her in my arms, feel her curls
against my skin, hear her chaotic crazy laughter at 4 in the morning.
"Who the fuck cares if that boy says I'm made up," Laughed Poppy, licking
chocolate frosting off her fingers. (We were making fudge cake again)
I shrugged and smiled. Who the fuck did care. I didn't. I didn't.
"You just keep telling yourself that," She said.
The summer was so hot it felt like my bones would melt away, the sweat pooled
in my sunken collarbones while Poppy fed me sticky popsicles and sang vintage
songs about WW1. Whenever he started walking up the porch she would flee.
"So she's always runnin' from me," He'd tease, his ivory white teeth gleeming.
He'd try to rub my thigh and I'd get up and move towards the apple trees where I saw
her run away.

Night blue dreams awakening tearful, shadowed
thoughts of life resuming a downward spiral,
one more bastard epiphany: hopeless pleasure.
Lifeless blackness, tragedy never ending -

more beyond your dark decrescendo; dawn glows
E for EveyV stopped twirling the apple around in his leather-clad hand and simply held it for a moment, studying it closely. He hadn't planned on eating it when he plucked it from the fruit bowl, nor was he particularly hungry. He grabbed hold of the long stem between his thumb and forefinger and began to twist, absently. This simple action quite unexpectedly triggered a memory from his childhood. It rarely happened, and when it did, it was of litttle to no importance, and never yielding a single clue as to who he was before he became what he was. Like this: something about saying a letter with each twist, and whichever letter it was that you said when the stem finally broke off was the first letter of the name of the person you were going to marry.
Hesitantly, he began to indulge in this childish nonsense, until moments later, snap! The little splinter of wood fell the to the floor.

I once had
An affair with Jesus,
When my legs were swollen
And my eyes looked like heat
It was kept quite hush-hush
Afraid that Hashem would find out
And no Holy Mary's or hall-
would save me . But his voice
Beat wildly with the
Promise of a fake honey heaven
Complete with wings that would
Be glued onto my shoulder bones.
And I suffocated under
The red light from his
I didn't believe in
Men nailed on crosses
But I needed a cross-heaven
With twinkle angels
And winged warriors.
I kept waiting to be kissed
By fate, to be swept up
In the arms of forgiveness
And to elope with
A man who had scars on his wrists
Like my own.
But he chose
Millions of women
In white and black,
With purer thighs
And glass eyes
their eyes closed.

Bravery and the Sleepy HeartBravery and the Sleepy Heart10 years ago in Children and Teen More Like This
Long, long, ago, when wizards and dragons ate ice cream sundaes for breakfast, there was a little boy with freckles sprinkled across his nose like confetti. His eyes matched the colour of the sky on a sunny day and his hair blended in with stars at night. The little boy's name was Bravery because he had the most courage out of all the children in the world. His parents were very proud of him and told him that he would be able to get his own pet dragon very soon. Bravery was going to name it Mister Monster.
One morning Bravery woke up and felt a little bit sick. His mom cooked him his favourite soup, Chocolate Fudge Noodle, but it didn't make Bravery feel any better. It wasn't his tummy that was sick, it was his heart.
"I think my heart is broken," Bravery told his mom when he had finished his bowl of soup.
"Hearts can't break, Bravery," his mom told him with a smile, "They can get sick, but they don't break."
"Then I think my heart is sick," Bravery said frowning.

"Did you just ask me for girl advice, Ichigo?"
Ichigo quickly removed his hands to revel his blushing face. "Of course not!"
Bleddyn was smiling mischievously. "Yes you are, Ichi."
"N-no!" he was blushing heavier now.
"Ichigo, just admit it."
"No! Theres nothing to admit!"
Bleddyn's smile grew to Cheshire Cat status.
"Ichigo, if you admit that you're asking for girl advice, I'll help you out."
They both sat in silence. Ichigo didn't want to ask Bleddyn, of all people, for girl advice, but he would do anything to make Rukia feel better. Especially for not bringing her a get well present and because he still believed that he was the reason she was injured in the first place. After every passing second Ichigo's face grew a shade redder while Bleddyn's smile grew larger. Bleddyn knew Ichigo would cave in soon.
"I'm... asking you for girl advice."
"What? I can't here you, HURRR."

A muted clatter in the kitchen gave him cause to mumble, tugging a rail-thin arm over his matted curls in a groggy attempt to shut out the sounds of the day beginning. "Don' wanna... getup..." The remainder of his complaint was muffled into the mattress, and he tugged the covers up over his head as a tall figure appeared at the other end of the room, cautiously poking his head out from the apartment's small nook of a kitchen.
The object of his concern lay slumped on his shabby make-shift bed, his mumbling dissolved into soft and even breathing as his friend (dubbed "Malik"
What Fools These Mortals Be 1Dusk was falling and the streets were mostly empty. A fine mist had started creeping across the cobbled streets and the yellow-ish street lights cast everything into hazy shadows and sharp white-yellow shapes. In this hour just before dark fell, the towering brick houses with their drapes drawn across the windows and their iron fenced gates chained shut seemed to loom hauntingly above the narrow streets where, hours earlier, steam-powered carriages and cars had zipped back and forth. They're always whining about "brains" and "guarrrgh" all the time and they're clawing at you with their nasty clammy maggoty-infested hands and biting your wife with their rotten yellow teeth and trudging along in a big stupid horde, losing their limbs all over the place and blocking traffic like they owned the world. Would you believe there was a zombie stampede on the I-41 this morning? Yeah, they held up traffic for like an hour. It was a huge stampede. They made me late to work and I think they almost cost me my job. Never mind that the boss has been later for less important reasons than a zombie stampede.
Some day I'm going to stick him in a room with a zombie in it and see how he likes it.
Anyway. I would have been later to work this morning ('cause I think that stampede's still going on, I mean they just said on the news half an hour ago that the last body count was like sixty, and that's way too many for just an hour-long stampede) if I hadn't gone and inst

The sounds of Rukia's footsteps disappeared as Ichigo swung away at the Hollow who, even though had only one arm now was able to block all of Ichigo's attempts of shattering it's mask.
Ichigo then heard a scream.
It was Rukia's voice.
"RUKIA!" he yelled in the direction of her scream, hugely concerned; his attention completely focused on Rukia's well being.
The Hollow took Ichigo's moment of distraction as an opportunity to make an attack. He got his arm slashed badly by it's cat-like claws.
Full of rage and worry, he decided to end the fight quickly.
He stood back holding Zangetsu tightly in both hands and yelled "GETSUGA TENSHOU!" A blue beam of energy was released from the large blade, completely destroying the Hollow's mask. It howled loudly as it's existence vanished.
Ichigo ran as fast as he could toward the direction where he heard Rukia's scream, completely forgetting about his heavily bleeding arm. He spotted her unconscious body by the water.

He was pretty sure it was Tuesday.
He supposed it would be accurate. The holoscreen on his desk said so, and his boss was wearing his cornflower blue tie, so he was pretty sure it must be Tuesday. Then again, he wasn't sure when the last time he slept was, and insomnia tended to make everything into a gray sort of haze after awhile.
"Eli? Are you in there?"
Light hazel eyes flicked from the pile of papers on his desk to the coworker he was supposed to be speaking to. The man in question, Renton, was rather portly, not exactly overweight but not thin. Some was muscle, some was fat, but it all bulged either way under the white collared shirt of a man who believed he was five pounds lighter than he actually was. He also had a tendency to be direct in an indirect sort of manner, which meant he sounded rather friendly and had the ability to make his words all too easy to tune out when they tended to be of the utmost importance.
"Ah, I'm sorry. I zoned out," he muttered, flashing a small smi
