He clipped her wings,
And broke her flight.
But she'd given it all away,
Without any fight.
He told her she wasn't beautiful,
That, she didn't want to believe.
But it wasn't too long before:
The mirror's reflection deceived.
Then he said she was the only:
The only one for him.
And soon turned what was pure and innocent,
Into a cold and lustful sin.
He told her she wasn't good enough,
And tore away at her with every little speech.
She didn't even notice,
Her life was somewhat out of reach.
He clipped her wings,
And she still didn't care.
Though for the people around her,
It was too much to bear.
Seven years have passed,
And all she knows is pain.
Every time she looks:
Her reflection stares back in disdain.
She flutters her wings,
And finds she cannot fly.
He took away all she had,
His fading butterfly.

Footprints on the heart,
Tears in the soul.
Burning scars etched in:
You're too broken to be whole.
In the dark walls of the mind.
You wear a constant mask,
So we don't see what's behind.
You say you want someone to love you,
And you need someone to hold.
What you want, you never will get:
As the creased heart won't unfold.
Bitter pills of affection,
At the heart they tore.
You know too well, what it's like
You've been hurt before.

to scared to move I began to shake
There you were just lying there
A cold blunt face, cold hard stare
You're lips began to move once more
As I ran out of that chilly door
I yelled for someone to help me please
I yelled but I did not succeed
By the time I'de arrived back by your side
You had gone ahead and shut your eyes
The paramedics tried as hard as they could
to revive you but it was just no good
I held you as tight as tight can be
I held you 'til all life left me
light turned to dark infront of my eyes
and took all the goodness from my sight
like a child I held the knife to my wrist
Like you had done without a twitch
Then there you were at my door
Smiling like you did before

i saw the end of the world in your eyes
i watched as humanity met it's demise
a thousand lies fell cold and corrupt
our venomous veins cause our hearts to erupt
and the more we understand the more that we hate
about the world that we're bound and cannot escape
prayers turn to poison the minute they're born
victims become hunted when they're wings become torn
blood spattered innocence lays claim to the cure
morals snap like spines as fear fuels war
the diseases they made couldn't bring forth the grave
the fired up our heaven so their lies could be saved
and the crippled creatures you plucked from your ribs
lie crying for blood as they rot in their cribs
the cross you erected draws locusts to feast
on the putrid remains of the love you defeat
and the maggots that turn in your stomach know
the secrets you keep from us so far below
angels drip blood from their wings of cold stone
in their crowns made of stars and innocent bone
the hands of decay move more swifter with time

pierce my skin
to free myself
I'll commit a sin.
Take my life
so the sorrow can end
free my soul
so my wounds can mend.
Soon it is over
nothing in vain
this final act
will cease my pain.
My eyelids are heavy
I feel so frail
lying on the ground
looking so pale.
Now it's done
the healing is complete
but was it a victory
or was it defeat?

Sleeping on the floor;
The wood it cuts my skin.
I begin to bleed;
on floor and within.
Nothing as it seems,
as blood rips through dreams.
and I begin to weep,
I begin to seep away.
As darkness fades from sight;
I breathe it in the air.
Little left to see,
blank becomes my stare.
Colors start to fade.
This fate I have made,
I'm ending all alone.
You lay down with me;
a tear rolls down your cheek.
Shame is what you feel,
for loving one so weak.
Nothing left to do,
glazed eyes facing you.
As you begin to weep,
I begin to creep away;

So here it begins,
Her silent love affair.
So now her heart starts to sing,
She's getting rid of her despair.
She does it because she can't cry,
She does it because she wants to know she can still feel.
It's not like she has the intention of wanting to die.
But her life doesn't really seem real.
An endless nothing,
Living life day by day.
What enjoyment life can bring.
She once heard someone say.
She does it because she hurts,
And no-one seems to care.
Her self-esteem can no more subvert.
Her skin is the only thing, able now to tear.
It isn't because she likes it,
It's the fact she has control.
Because her thoughts ebb away at every bit,
Life seems one constant black hole.
Now she can't stop,
Because the only thing that ends the hurt.
No more can she act on 'top'
Because inside she treats herself like dirt.
It's her secret,
The one that keeps her sane.
It's the only thing she doesn't regret.
But I guess you wouldn't think the same

But you still want to caress me.
Yet, despise me.
And at the same time repulse me.
Then heal me.
And then take from me.
Then excite me.
Then free me.
Stay with me,
But you want to leave me.
And then forget me.
Just don't wake me.

More than a word,
Less than a touch.
More than a present,
Or a token of affection, as such.
More than cheap talk,
Less than a kiss.
But more of something,
For it to be what I miss.
More or less the same,
Two players in this old game.
Driving each other insane,
As hearts never seem to tame.

let go and be free
forget all your worries
and come with me.
A simple slice
will solve it all
don't be afraid
I'll catch if you fall.
Now seal your fate
let go of your life
make the cut
and end this strife.
Have no regret
what you did was right
leave the dark world
and walk towards the light.
Now is the time
let go and be free
forget all your worries
and come with me.

Look at her... poor thing, blinking back those burning tears defiantly. Why won't anyone tell her she's allowed to cry? Why won't anyone cradle and comfort her in her time of need? It's as if she's surrendered to the sorry fact that, when your drowning in seas of sorrowful self-worthlessness, no one cares. She's just another one. Another victim.
You can hear her stifled sobs if you listen closely... As the pale silver wings glint in the oppresive sunlight, you can tell its taunting her, tearing her life away- piece by piece, by piece.
It's almost as if you can smell her fear. She fears the laugh, his laugh- the shrill echo, resounding within the dark walls of her marred mind. She fears it, as it cannot be silenced.
A kiss and a cautious, yet coaxing carress can lead to many things, but no one expects the result to be a brutal beating. Skin glowing crimson- not from innocence's blush, but a raging bull-like temper and a well trained fist.

Eyes veiled under the smeared lines;
Pure black, disguising a beautiful face.
Yet, his eyes are bright, living life to the full,
The cross around his neck- no disgrace.
One walks by,
And the other moves to the side.
The tenacious dance continues,
For these unlikely valentines.
Maybe, not so unlikely-
She's the one crying out to be saved.
And he's the one who can,
Give her the comfort she's craved.
Appearances are deceiving,
As the veiled eyes catch the bright.
Both, instantly knowing-
They're losing this fight.
The black is rained away,
As are the past crimes.
Tears of frustration, anxiety's breaths,
Are not all that's in store, for these unlikely valentines…
