Sunlight bathed the earth in a warm blanket woven of peace and love. It nourished life itself; and watched as dozens of little unicorn foals played and danced around the meadow.
Fallen Star Island was still home to many of the Light's, although some of them had chosen to stay behind on Morcadia to clean up the mess that the Dark had made.
Those that stayed behind had various reasons, as did those who returned to the island. Most would agree on the same verdict; the memories of death and pain could never be erased on Morcadia, not until nearly six generations had passed.
Creatures of all kinds thrived, lived and died, and carried on the story of how their freedom had been won from the terrible Lorrithgar.
High on a hilltop, in a small shady glade, a group of foals listened intently as their teacher told them the Butterflies Lore. This story was the entire factual account about an extraordinary journey.
At the bottom of the hill, a gray unicorn stallio

Battle flags snapped in the wind as Lorrithgar's banner was portrayed across the valley and his 700,000 soldiers, loyal or not, were armed to the teeth for battle; and they were determined to make Morcadia their own.
Soldiers, Disturbed, slaves, many mixed creatures all marching to do battle.
3 kilometers away, Aurora waited tensely with Soldier and their small number. 100,000 seemed comparatively desperate.
Despite the odds, though, the heart and determination from the Lights was massive, and Aurora had no doubt that they could hold their own.
The only answer she didn't know was if they would win or not. And if they did, how many lives it would cost
Beside her, Soldier and Tornach conversed quietly with Destrier.
They could all see the dust rising from Lorrithgar's army as it made its way to their half of the valley. On the other side, the remaining of the free Light creatures stood nervously, heads held high with pride.

Micah sat at the wooden table, one hand on his cheek as he read the letter that had just arrived. The black ink was vivid against the white parchment, portraying a chilling message.
Evarinya and Fearie gazed through the iron bars of their window into the world outside. A sigh escaped the white unicorn, and she closed her eyes, picturing Soldier and her friends.
Fearie, recently, had not talked to them. The last Evarinya had learned was that they had captured the ship Dawn Walker from the Dark.
Micah suddenly yelled, and Evarinya spun to see why he was scared. He had leapt from his chair, the wood clattering against the stone floor, and was staring at the letter as if it was poison.
"Evarinya!" he gasped. "Lorrithgar is coming right now!" he rushed to the unicorn and pulled a dagger from within his cloak.
Evarinya whinnied. "You could not stop him with that dagger." The furious light shining in the boys eyes scared Evarinya.

Aurora watched as the green ship bobbed slightly on the waves, its massive sails stretched as it caught the wind. The symbol of Darkness waved darkly on the sails.
She could see small movements as sailors and soldiers alike moved on the deck and other parts of the ship.
Aurora knew that this ship was prison to her mate, Akairo. She also knew that in a few mere hours, they would be reunited
Fearie and Soldier had been planning the escape and capture of the Dawnwalker for nearly two weeks now. Evarinya and Micah had been resting after the battle at Butterfly Woods.
Fearie had gone into each cell that held prisoners, and told them of the plan. They all knew that the prisoners outnumbered the soldiers nearly 6 to 2. There were only about 16 sailors on the ship, and they were prisoners as well. Everyone was kept informed, and knew their role.
Finally, the day dawned.
Soldier roused the others quickly, and Fearie did elsewhere in the ot

Soldier stood by himself, looking at the outside world through the cold, moldy bars that enclosed him in his prison. The waters surrounding the ship were choppy, and thunder flashed through the sky. It was very dark outside, but Soldier could still see the slippery deck below him.
His heart ached, and he missed Evarinya. He was constantly worried, now more than ever. Why had his beautiful mare cried so desperately for him?
He had no way of knowing, and that was what killed him the most. Even now, below him, Narrah was barking orders at the sailors and Dark soldiers. At one point, the dark mare looked up at him, her eyes flashing furiously. He stepped away from the bars so she wouldn't see him. Still, he was sure she had noticed.
He had seen something strange the other day. Narrah had been standing alone, seemingly talking to herself. He had realized with horror that she was conversing with the Dark One, Lorrithgar.
To his shock, it seemed as if a cloud h

For nearly a week, Evarinya had all the time in the world to become closer friends with Akairo and Destrier. Evening, despite their dreary surroundings, always managed to make them all laugh and smile. One night, however, things changed.
It was at midnight, and someone opened the door to their cell.
Something jostled Evarinya violently, and she found herself being dragged along the cold floor of the cell.
She screamed, a high sound of terror, and it awoke Destrier and the others immediately. Crying out, they leapt to their hoofs to defend her.
"STOP!" Narrah's voice called out sharply. "She is being commanded into service, to fight with Lorrithgar's loyal army." Her smile was near satanic in the darkness.
"Mommy!" Evening cried, and Destrier held him back as the two soldiers who had come with Narrah brandished swords at the little colt.
"Stay here!" Evarinya cried, twisting her head back to look at them.
"I love you " she disappeared, d

Before Evarinya lay a dark, disturbing sight.
The Dreadfall Swamp was not what one might call a good vacation place.
From where they all stood, they could see the danger that lurked within.
As one, the large group of animals stood before the entrance of Dreadfall Swamp.
Inside the trees, one could barely see any further then the tree beyond it.
Strange noises reached them; growls and strange calls. The bridge creaked as it moved, things below the surface stirred it.
Evening was beneath Evarinya's belly, his little head peeking out from her mane.
Soldier stood beside her, his heart pounding with worry. Beside him, Graystorm snorted.
"Shall we all go, then?" Graystorm said loudly. Everyone turned to look at him. Herald lumbered over.
"Well, might as well. Standing here will never get us to Fallen Star." he huffed, and he and Graystorm boldly led the way. The long procession of animals trailed into the entrance of Dreadfall. Their cries of fear soon filled the ai

Sunlight dappled the unicorns coats as they walked along the moss covered floor of the forest.
Thick, slender trees spread upwards to cup the sunlight all around them. The light that made its way gently below was tinged in light shades of green and gold.
Evarinya tossed her head, and Soldier admired how her horn caught the light with a glowing halo.
Leaves and delicate woodland flowers decorated the floor as they walked through.
Small, blue and purple butterflies flew all around them. Occasionally, a larger one with more vibrant colouring flew past.
Evening found a delightful game in chasing them, and even tried to eat one before Brealiona scolded him gently.
"Remember that firefly?" she asked, and he nodded and spat out his tongue.
"Yuck!" he said, before bounding away again.
He soon settled down, and to his delight a butterfly actually landed on his nose. It was a very light blue, with slender veins of black that laced the wings. The tips were a m

"Don't you touch my mommy!" Evening growled, and sprang up on his hind legs. He boxed the manticore on the face, and the creature screeched and moved back. Evarinya stood, frozen in surprise.
"OW! THAT WAS MY EYE YOU LITTLE SHIT!" the manticore hissed at him.
Evening paid no mind and kicked out with his hind legs, catching the manticore in its other eye.
For a moment she reached around wildly, hissing as she attempted to grab Evening.
Finally, blinded, she turned and ran. She screamed in pain the whole way, stopping just once before going back into the water.
she turned around, and screamed.
"My name is Srainditina... LEARN TO FEAR IT!" Then, she disappeared back into the sickly waters from which she had emerged.
The group stood and stared, dumbstruck.
Evening snorted, and turned to face Evarinya.
"Mommy?" he asked worriedly, at the look on her face. "You okay?"
Dazed, Evarinya could only nod in reply.
She stumbled over to him, and nuzzled him over. He
