About The World
The planet Voleros is small, but rich with life and nature. It contains only one continent and four countries, Alora (Summer), Lumeria (Winter), Risohli (Autumn), and Elavernis (Spring).
Voleros is protected by four seasonal Gods. These Gods rest in their respective country, and live among its citizens like a mortal would. They have weaknesses just like any mortal, and have no special powers - other than the fact that they are immortal and have watched over Voleros since its very beginning, and that they have influences over their respective seasons.
Due to the Gods influence, the countries that they live in have become shrouded in just one seasonal weather. Alora for example, constantly enjoys the warmth and clear skies of Summer, due to the Summer God Ayre who lives there.
The human race does not exist on Voleros. Instead, a race simply known as 'Gijinka' live there. Scattered around the countries, these people are similar to a number of creatures -

Just some guidelines of what I will be looking for when I start accepting apps.
The application sheet itself is simple enough. Please make sure you have read ALL the blog posts before you start making your character. I'm getting many questions, and people making silly mistakes on apps that could have easily been prevented if they had just read all the information I have posted.
People who have not read the blog posts, and who have made obvious mistakes in their apps or descriptions will NOT be accepted.
I will be accepting people based on these things:
Friendly, positive attitude (If I see any disrespect towards Admins, Mods, or Members/Visitors, I will not accept your app.)
Clear effort shown in your character illustrations and descriptions (History/Personality)
The ability to READ (Read ALL of the groups blogs. I can not stress this enough.)
Make sure you have the job TYPE written on your app sheet, not the
Beast/Gijinka Information -updated-Beast/Gijinka InformationBeast/Gijinka Information -updated-4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Detailed descriptions on both the beasts and the Gijinka races. Please note that these are just examples to get your ideas going, it is in no way a rule book. Be creative with your character designs.
Also, please remember that the Gijinka are all MORTAL. They are just like humans, but slightly different in that they have beast features and can use limited magic. They do not have super strength, or live on the moon, or shapeshift, for example. Also, please remember that using more than just the occasional small spell could severely damage your character. Make sure to read the Magic info journal if you're confused about this.
The beasts, while rare, also live on Voleros. They are mostly hard to find, but live in the forests, ocean or mountains around Voleros. This does not mean that the Gijinka are related to them in anyway, just that the Gijinka are more a part of nature than humans are. (And no, humans do not exist on Voleros.)
Your character MUST be a part

About the Gods:
Born from the stars, 4 small children awoke in Voleros, a desolate and lifeless world. Terrified of being lost, the children traversed the land, searching for any of their star mothers. While together, a beautiful sense of calm surrounded them. However, when separated, the children noticed something amazing. One boy discovered the sun was always out whenever he walked during the day, and temperatures spiked as he rested, while the girl experienced something completely opposite. Another boy noticed that flowers would grow and bloom near him, while the final girl noticed that the leaves would turn red if she touched them.
Amazed by these powers, and noticing that they didn't happen while together as a group, the children agreed to part ways for a year to improve their skills. Deciding to meet in the middle of a huge lake after that year was up - they named their meeting place Haven, a sacred place for them that no other creature could enter. After th

The job you choose for your character will not only effect how you roleplay them, but it also gives them access to Job Associated Quests, Events and special items. A job is important in the fact that it helps a character grow as a person, and allows them to support their country and their fellow citizens. Choosing a job is required for your character application, but please take your time to read through this list and decide on the job that will be best suited for your character.
A Warrior is a strong willed group of people, talented in both defense and offence. Their jobs often include fighting and defending their country, becoming personal body guards for royalty or the rich, or working alone to defend themselves or the ones they care about. A warrior can wield any weapon, and many choose to create their own personalized weapons for their own use. As a warrior, your character has the choice of becoming a soldier for their Country, to help defend it during the e

Hello everyone. Just a small update on an issue that has been raised.
This group has, as you should have noticed, an application form for each country that members are asked to fill one out in time for when we open in a few weeks. To complete an application form you must include a fullbody (if you absolutely can't manage a fullbody, then waist up is fine, but I would prefer to see a fullbody) a headshot drawing of your VolSa character, and at least one accessory.
THESE DRAWINGS MUST BE 100% YOUR OWN WORK we do not allow or support tracers - this includes bases. If you feel you cannot draw, TRY. Do not commission or request another artist to draw your character for you.
I find this extremely lazy and not to mention rude. Why should we accept someone who has traced (for example) another artists hard work, instead of someone else who's app is fully theirs and had spent good time and effort in creating it.
It does NOT matter if you're a "bad" artist. You have as much c

Anyone on DA.
How do I join?

Magic in VolerosMagic in VolerosMagic in Voleros4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Updated to include more information!
Magic DOES exist in Voleros. However, the Gijinka use it with caution.
Gijinka are only able to use one or two spells.... and when they DO use them, the force of the magic from their body shortens their lifespan. Magic itself comes directly from a Gijinka's soul, and using any type of magic excessively can sometimes cause unconsciousness or even a temporary coma.
Since magic comes from the soul, the more magic that's used directly results in the soul being drained away. Once the soul is completely depleted, the body dies soon after within a few days, in a similar way to starvation. The body would wither away without the soul to power it, and it is considered a slow and painful way to die.
The rate of this magical drain effecting a Gijinka's health depends on how often they use it. If a gijinka was to use a bit of magic every day, then chances are that they would not live to see their early twenties.
Due to this, only very few Gijink

Things to keep in mind when making your app. The FAQ, How to Join, and Application Forms blogs are also good places to look up more specifics. In general, it is a good idea to look over all the blogs because there are at least tidbits of info on most of them. If you are still concerned about your app, you may post your app on the front page, note the club, and/or ask mods in the chatroom to look over your app. Also, because the mods review the apps as a group, it doesn't hurt to get more than one mod to look at your app.
This blog will most likely get updated as more issues/questions pop up, so keep an eye on it!

In times of war, the Leaders officially act as

While Voleros has many similar species to that seen on Earth (such as birds, fish, mammals... etc) and even some rare Mythical beasts, Voleros also has its own unique species just waiting to be made!
VolSa members are welcome to create their own wildlife species for Voleros! Once you have joined, feel free to start designing, and when you're done you can add your creation to the 'Voleros Wildlife' gallery folder... and that species will officially become a part of Voleros!
Some species can use magic, but just like the Gijinka, can be wounded and will suffer from using it. Things like fire breath MIGHT possible for Voleros's animals (like dragon type animals, for example), but at a very limited amount.
Please give your animal species some time, effort and thought while creating them. I don't want to see any Pokemon/Digimon ripoffs - use your imagination!
Just like animals on Earth, they have mortal lifespa
