Chapter 10(Episode 89): Burn Hard, Chosen Generals! Push Your Strengths to the Limits!
“Amen-Ramon, how are you still alive?” Tagiru asked.
Then, Amen-Ramon started to snickered.
“Let’s just say that I was giving another chance to take you down.” Amen-Ramon said.
“Prepare to die, Chosen Generals!” Amen-Ramon hollered.
“Sypus Ribural!” Amen-Ramon shouted.
Amen-Ramon shot another shadow ball at the Chosen Generals. The Chosen Generals managed to survive.
“You think that attack is going to work again?” Tagiru asked.
“Think again!” Tagiru hollered.
“Rubberdramon! Counterattack!” Tagiru hollered.
“Right, Tagiru!” Rubberdramon hollered.
“Light Wing!” Rubberdramon shouted.
Rubberdramon flew to the sky and slashed Amen-Ramon with his bright wings.
“Nice!” Tagiru hollered.
Then, Amen-Ramon scraps off the scratches on his skin.
“Damn.” Tagiru said.

I swore I wouldn't fall for the lies,
Trust was broken,
I can't help but wonder,
What does it matter.
I never wanted to fall in love again,
Just because of you,
I didn't think I would,
But that just isn't true.
Love is a treasure,
That can never be left behind,
I hope you're happy now,
I assure you, I'm fine.
I met him one day,
Coming home from church,
I began to wonder,
"Could meeting him really hurt?"
And it didn't,
Was not a blunder.
We went on a walk,
He asked me what I liked,
We talked for hours,
I began to recover,
Because of him.
Time heals all wounds,
That is what they say,
Some time can heal,
But there are wounds that time can't touch,
And among those wounds are holes,
That only friends can heal.

The power of art really is a force to be reckoned with. To have you look at something and be intrigued by it, wanting to know more about it's story. Soon all you're doing is staring at it intently, as if it were a really attractive person.
Maybe I am delving too much into the album art cover of Lights and Perfections by The Burial, but I have to say, it truly is amazing.
The Burial is a progressive death metal band, and this is their sophomore release. Now, I hadn't even heard of this band until I was looking at upcoming releases, and saw this artwork, along with two tracks available for listening pleasure, so of course I had to take a listen.
The album starts of with 'Lights' which is woven with so many grooves and bounces, the urge to not headbang becomes obsolete. This band may suffer from what many 'elitists' consider to be a very incestuous sound with metalcore, due to the songwriting choices, such as bands like The Faceless. With that being said, the catchy riffs and impre

I am very excited today to be bringing this review to you all. It's been over two years since the last Periphery album, but before I dive into this monster, lets learn a little something about the band.
Periphery is a progressive metal band hailing from Maryland, USA. The band is mainly focused around the song ideas that sole member Misha 'Bulb' Mansoor writes and releases bit-by-bit beforehand, and then ultimately appearing later as a fully fleshed out track in actual Periphery full lengths or EP's. The band is one of the pioneering bands that coined the term 'djent' which is a tone that bands before Periphery used such as Meshuggah, and Sikth. This term is used for bands with very low end guitars, preferably 7 and 8-string guitars that incorporate these growling riffs and infectious grooves that will get some part of your body moving. Periphery take this sound, and add their own spin on it with some decent songwriting, incredible musicianship, as well as tone of other tric

Gojira is a French groove metal band that incorporate hints of death metal, ironically categorized sometimes as 'life metal' due to the fact of the lyrics covering subjects such as life, spirituality, and ecological themes, and the fact that when they want to write something heavy, you best believe it's going to be devastating. Gojira have a knack for being very versatile in what they write or play, changing it up from being consistently fast to slow and dark.
Back in my review for that recent The Mars Volta LP, I touched down on the subject of a liking only a few tracks from a bands discography. Another case in point that's even worse from my point of view, wasGojira. Their earlier material wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't stand out until the released From Mars to Sirius back in 2005, which is something you may want to listen to first, followed by the 2008's rather disappointing The Way of All Flesh, to see how much of an overhaul they made in the four years i

This entire town is dark and desolate, devastated by the war. The Ace's rise to power has reduced the population to poverty and depression. This city was once the epitome of thriving civilisation, but because of the Ace's avarice and lust for power, it has now been reduced to a hazardous wasteland. It's hardly even worth the fight anymore.
I know this place because I have seen it before, have had the image burned into the back of my eyes for six years, a message set in stone, a permanent reminder. Despite the familiarity of the scene, I have never set foot in this town before.
Most people would call this phenomenon déjà-vu. I don't have that luxury.

The paths we takeI kneeled down at the remains of the campfire, a small charcoal affair resting in the middle of a tire. The campsite was located in a small tunnel of the old world, a drainage ditch for the waste. Rain and lack of use had washed it clean, and the overgrowth of weeds and small trees made it a perfect hiding spot for however long my quarry spent there. Except now I don't know where he went. Sighing, I sank back and sat with my back against the wall of the tunnel, considering where he might have gone. So far the tracks had been easy to follow, the used campfire here, the dead wilder there. Most people wouldn't have any luck, would have seen the signs as the randomness of the Remains. That's what the world is called now, the Remains. Because that's what it is, the remains of man's foolishness and greed. The war, the plague, the fire -- they weren't the causes of our world. No, it was man's greed and desire for destruction that did it. Those, those were just the tools. Still, even when ManThe paths we take4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

There is no need to introduce you to Cryptopsy if you're into Death Metal. They released pivotal albums in the 90's, and due to major line up changes throughout the bands career, fans have been on the fence with albums past 1996's None So Vile, and it's all due to one man; Lord Worm. His vocals were monstrous, ugly, and raw, but all in the good way. Back in the 90's, all death metal bands wanted to just sound evil, and play fast. There was no producers to be picked for that clean nor clear sound. Death Metal was from the bowels of hell and beyond.
Fast forward to 2007, and Worm leaves yet again for a job as an English teacher, making the band recruit a new vocalist, which finally landed on a young Matt McGachy, and so in 2008, The Unspoken King came out.
I really don't need to get a point across on how horrendous that album was. Let's just say it was panned by nearly every fan that loved the band, and people who've never heard of the album. They went from death metal to d

Greetings everyone. I have returned after a hiatus from submitting, and I thought I would break this dry spell with a very fitting album for this moment.
In case you are new to my reviews, I like to educate people on the band a little before dissecting the album as to why I do and don't like it.
So, The Faceless is a Death Metal band from California, US. Before Sumerian Records ever became popular with it's lineup, all they had was The Faceless, and at the time, The Faceless was another death metal band, slightly bordering in the deathcore genre at times. Their music was well above the bar for their peers in the deathcore scene, which brought tons of praise when they released Akeldama in 2006. After finally settling on a drummer with Lyle Cooper, they entered the studio again in 2008 to release what may have been their best album at the time, Planetary Duality. This was a major improvement on sound, flushing out all the deathcore elements almost completely and going for a

There will always be genres of music that no one enjoys for some reason pertaining to their taste, or what turns them off about that said genre stylistically. This can be said without a doubt for the deathcore genre. Although started with an intention of a very dark and technical standpoint (see the band The Red Chord), it's been muddled down to a mess of universally-toned guitars spouting out the same chord progressions and breakdowns, messily complimented with vocals that never really make or break the band. Throw some formulaic drum techniques and you have a very tired and dying genre.
Enter Veil of Maya, a 4-piece deathcore band hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Eclipse is their fourth album, and while sticking to a certain formula, people tend to look past the fact that the formula they stick with, is very invigorating from the likes of Whitechapel, Oceano, and Chelsea Grin. They break the mold of so many cliches, it's overwhelming. It's pretty progressive, to be honest, which is a

All Human is a solo project by Adam Fisher, known vocalist/guitarist from one of my favorite bands growing up as a kid, Fear Before the March of Flames. They were such a free-minded group of musicians, releasing albums that were so much different from another musically. Their last three albums basically molded my tastes along with other bands that would take forever to name. After about two or three years after their 2008 album, Fear Before, the band went on a hiatus, which a hard blow to my musical library. Adam, for the most part, has been releasing and taking place in albums here and there since the bands break, such as doing vocals and guitar in the debut from the progressive rock supergroup Orbs, or just random vocal appearances in other albums.
Now, Fisher has taken then time and finally released an all new solo album, Catholic Guilt or the Queerest of Thoughts, and to be honest, I wasn't that excited for it until the first single was dropped off of it a few months

Allegaeon is a death metal band from Colorado, United States, and Formshifter is their second LP.
Now I hadn't been familiar at all with the band until days before the release of this album, due to the heavy promotion of the album on websites and blogs, promising it to be a very solid and enjoyable album. I heard the tracks 'Twelve' and 'Tartessos: The Xenochryst Prophecy' days before the release, and I was satisfied heavily by the taste of the album given on these tracks. They both displayed a great mix a well written heaviness and and balancing sense of melodic guitarplay through out the entire album. The vocals were brutal and spine-tingling due to the fact that he could growl at a point of being understood without having a lyrical aid while listening to the music, and the fact that he could speed his vocals up with the tempo without any hesitation.
Needless to say, I had to listen to the album when it came out. Now that it has, I can say that this is a solid listen, and that's pret
