This is one of our new rats, we adopted him and another male from a local adoption centre; their horrible previous owners abandoned them in a box They were timid and clearly not used to being handled, at least not gently but they are warming to us and enjoy tussling with each other in their shared cage. We named this one Raziel, he's younger than Kain and much more shy but adorable, he is slowly learning to enjoy cuddles.
I managed to grab a shot of Raziel standing up to show off his gorgeous tummy markings, our beautiful spots-n-stripes boy! This pic is deceptive as he looks quite small, I've seen chihuahuas smaller than him though!! Lol.
Máni, little hooded mismarked blazed agouti standard rat, born november 2008
Rescued from a breeder who was giving away her breeding stock… He was afraid of humans, very very weak, sick and he was the same size as a 4 weeks old rat although he was 6 month old when I took him home… I also took his brother home (I'm rescuing pet rats as a foster family until I can find them a good home and I sometimes adopt them) He had been severely mistreated and didn't trust any human being. He's now a big rattie, a very very affectionate boy, cuddly and playful who loves to lick my fingers. He's a sweetie, I love him !
Little Freyja leaning in close to see the camera, goodness knows what Dione is standing looking up at! Lol. You can see her mouth is a little off-centre, born that way; but she's still beautiful. Poor toy smurf is discarded in favour of being nosy .
