Picture Perfect Part 2Daniel stared blankly out the window. The view still hadn't changed in the month he'd been here. He pulled the blanket tighter around his shoulders and exhaled quietly, surprised when the glass didn't fog. Outside it was still warm, still bright, and painfully cheerful. He was so cold, the absence of hope and happiness turning his soul to ice.Picture Perfect Part 24 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"Daniel? Daniel, I'm ready! Where did that boy get to now?"
The boy sighed heavily. Liam would find him momentarily. It would be better for him if he called out to the older man, gave away his position. He even opened his mouth to do it but not a sound emerged. Just the hissing sound of air escaping his throat. Daniel closed his eyes and leaned his head wearily against the window. He had locked his voice away in his first week, hoping his silence, his cooperation, would be enough to convince them to let him go. It hadn't. And now he still couldn't call his voice back.
Liam appeared at the doorway with a flourish and a loud huff, the spikes
The Mermaid (1) I wanted to go to a laser tag arena... but noooo, because I'm the only boy in our family, that was not an option. Instead, we ended up going to a stupid aquarium. The ride there was bad enough, once we were there my sisters (one was a year older than me, the other was younger) would not stop jabbering off about every single fish. The Mermaid (1)2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
We explored around a bit more, and we got to a viewing dock, were employees were feeding dolphins. "Hey sis!" I yelled to my older sister. She came over and looked in amazement at the dolphins. While she was tipping slightly over the viewing dock rope, I shoved her as hard as I could, and she fell three feet into the dolphin tank.
"Ahhhhhhh!" She screamed, "Help me! I'm going to be eaten!!!" I rolled my eyes as all the employees and emergency crew jumped into the water, and pulled her out, sopping wet and her attitude was no less damp. "You freaking MONSTER!" She screamed at me. My mom glared at me darkly. The trip to

hear voices. A light was shining on her. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the next item up

as her red hair. You'll want to keep this girl tied down. We'll start the bidding at 2k."
She started to struggle even more. As the price went up, she started to envision many
possible outcomes of her situation. "I hear 30k from the gentlemen in the front row." She
thought' "This can't be happening to me." The bids kept getting higher.
It was up to 100,000. all she could do was await the outcome. She stopped

Taken as a Slave - GiD"Hello, my name is Kai and I will be your waiter this evening." The boy smiled at his customers as he set down a glass of water in front of each a man and a woman. The couple appraised Kai he held himself well, his posture excellent. His voice was perfect not too loud, not too soft. The uniform, waistcoat, tie and slacks fit him well, it didn't hang off of him the way it did some of the other waiters, despite the fact that he was thin. His ears too, stood aloof, unlike many of the other boys around the restaurant, and his perfect smile set off his soft features.Taken as a Slave - GiD6 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Not only did Kai look the part, but he played it. The boy had every special memorized and knew the answer to every question that the man and woman asked. He brought them their food on time and served them exactly what they had ordered, no matter how many strange specifications they each made all without writing down a single thing. When he brought the check, he thanked them, asked them to come again with a
Collectors - Jack GiDWhen the men entered Jacks room, he was sitting at his desk, headphones in, metal blaring loudly. It was 7 PM dark outside, late enough for him to be home from school, but not late enough for his workaholic parents to be anywhere near the house yet. After he had gotten home from school, he had done some homework, but not much, gone for a run, eaten leftover pizza for dinner and then taken a shower. Now he was partially dressed, wearing the pair of basketball shorts that intended to sleep in and nothing else.Collectors - Jack GiD6 years ago in Mystery & Suspense More Like This
Because of the loud music pouring through the headphones, Jack was blissfully unaware that anything at all was wrong. The men that had just picked the lock to the door barely knew anything about Jack, they had only watched him for a day, but they knew that every chance he got, the boy kept his ears jammed with loud music, blocking out the world. Jack raked a finger through his still slightly damn hair recently dyed black with a patch of blond in the front that h
