How I made my costume~
Top and skirt patterns were first drafted from scratch. Wherever possible, seams are completed with a serged french seam. 100% silk fabric was used; everything is lined minus the back to copy the sheer look in the film. My black trim is hand-made bias tape from silk dupioni.
2000++ gems are both hand-sewn and hand-glued on with a toothpick!

Yay secret group for Fanime 2011! Had a ridiculous amount of fun with these girls, I'm so thankful to *daydreamernessa for bringing us all together and starting the group! Most everyone is from a different state but I hope we can have more Sailor Moon fun together someday!

Making "Bling-Bling Sparkle" Babydoll from Sucker Punch for Fanime!

I actually changed my Fanime schedule around quite a lot (those on facebook know half of it though - so it's not much of a change from what I've said there at least!) I'll make a journal pretty soon about all my new costume plans and such.

Anyway - as I was looking at pictures from Sucker Punch before the movie came out I really fancied Sweet Pea's costume and thought I would make that if anything. But then I saw the movie and Baby Doll's goooorgeous costume at the end so Sweet Pea was forgotten haha. I've already put a thousand studs on a leather jacket so two thousand more gems on another costume won't hurt lol.

Most everything needs to be changed from my test here but that's why it's a test I guess haha.
Details;

Wig - Need to work on the bangs some more and trim it an inch. I'm going to be using this wig for Callisto (Xena) and Sookie (True Blood) so I don't want to alter it too much. Also need clear hair ties.

Makeup - Not sure if I like these eyelashes or not, I think they're too thick so I'll keep looking around. Also want an eyeshadow with a bit more sparkle. Need a touch more blush too.

Headband - 95% finished just need another row of blue gems in the back, I just ran out while making it. Still need to buy thousands of other gems though haha.

OMG YOU CAN'T COSPLAY TWISTED RAPUNZEL YET, THE MOVIE ISN'T EVEN OUT!!1!


My last new costume from ALA 2012! Not sure if I'll be wearing this again, the wig is a pretty big pain (MAJOR thanks to Nataly for helping me out with it!), I was going to use it for the Designer Dress Rapunzel at Fanime but I think I'll just make the face character wig for it instead. Also it was a bit awkward when people would approach me from behind seeing the purple dress and super long blonde hair thinking 'Disney Rapunzel!' and then I turn around with scars on my face lol But surprisingly a lot of people knew the artwork it was from so I think I only scared 3 or 4 people ha.

But I kinda feel like I don't really need to wear it again since I have this completely epic shot from Vincent! DEM lanterns! I'm really happy I noticed them during the day and that Vincent made the location work even though there were a couple annoying kids tapping their lightsabers in the background. Vince ftw!
Mei also got some great detailed shots of the costume so those are coming up next..ish!

Went up to CA this last weekend to see my favorite person in the world live in concert and to spend time with Nataly on her birthday, and we had some extra time to do a couple photoshoots (thanks to Robert for organizing & choosing locations too!) as well so I finished up Merida and brought the costume with me on my trip!

New wig is custom made and styled by me. Also fixed up the ruffles on my under-dress, hand embroidered the eyelets on the front of her green dress, made a couple new arrows, an armguard, and a hand grip for my bow! I also made the medallion she has on her bow but it broke in a billion pieces when I went to shoot an arrow on the beach lol (at least I'll have a few shots with it on the beach!). So I have to remake that for Fanime.. and add some detail to my quiver but probably not because lazy..

Happy October everyone! Definitely my favorite month, going to CA next week for some photoshoots, a couple days at DL for Mickey's Halloween party, a birthday party, and to see friends! Also can't wait for Halloween, my costume's a secret for now but I'm so excited!

Wanted to upload a picture on 11/11/11 XD. This is one of my favorites from last month's Ontario Rogue shoot, if not my #1 favorite of Robert's shots! Also excuse me as I title every upload for the rest of the year names of Tears for Fears songs lol. Totally works here though, crap I love the 80's!
