Eyeless creature, it sees through its skin feeling its surroundings, very resistant and tough armor/skin protects it in freezing cold abysmal ambients, having no eyes or head makes it extremely dificult to kill, it keeps on attacking with whatever limbs or pieces of its body are left.
SWEET LORD IN HEAVENS I ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT TO THE DEADLINE. Here's my entry.
I gave it a little thought about what exactly should this guy be in terms of specific form, but I almost immediately decided it'd be a Death Colossus, mostly because I wanted to draw something with skulls and stuff. Eventually while working on it I had the idea of this guy being some sort of walking tomb/graveyard. In retrospect, I would've liked to include more buildings/structures/graves, sadly I am a terrible mess at organizing my time and I had a ton of work this weekend, so I had to make it a lot more simple. I hope the perspective shows the scaling of the creature well, it's something I usually try to take into account when making something so big. Anyway, enough of my rambling, hope you guys like this. :]
This is my art work for the Rift Colossus contest. Here is one out of three. This is called "Life" Colossus. At first it was supposed to be Earth, but with the tree growth growing out of its skin, it just seem fitting to be called "Life" Colossus. The other two paintings are still in process... This was completely done using Photoshop. It took 2 days to complete.
At last, I managed to finish it in time! I wish I'd gotten started on this one earlier than 5 days before deadline, but I managed to complete it inbetween work and life in general. This is something I could have worked on for at least 10 more hours, but I'd rather get some sleep now

Water colossus for the contest. I've never really submitted anything to one of these before. I like this piece well enough and it gave me the chance to experiment with color like I haven't had before, which is nice.
I'm just not sure it really suits the spirit of the contest. I think I just did my own thing somewhere along the way XD. Ah well. At least it got me painting again.
