These thoughts ran through Snape's mind as he faced the wizard everyone thought he served. Voldemort's eyes, though cold as stone, blazed as if on fire. They found the professor's black ones, and again, Snape pleaded with him; "My Lord let me go to the boy-"
Voldemort continued to speak, but Snape's mind was elsewhere. If only he could get to Potter, he could warn him about the Elder Wand and try one last time to protect Lily's son. Lily thoughts of the red-haired woman fluttered through his mind, each tinged with a different emotion happiness, sorrow regret.
The cold voice of the Dark Lord penetrated Snape's mind. "While

"That one. The one that looks like a broomstick."
"What? That does not look like a broomstick in the slightest, Ron."
"Of course it does!"
"No, looks more like a tree to me."
"No no no, clearly it's a broomstick. Since when are trees triangular at the top?"
"Since I said so."
Ron laughed heartily and rolled on his side to gaze at Hermione.
She was laughing too; her face as bright as the sun that was shining on it. She was stretched out on the grass, her entire body relaxed, soaking up the wonderful summer weather. The breeze travelled up to the top of the hill on which they were reclining. It ruffled her dress and tossed her hair about her face. But she didn't bother trying to fix it: she knew she was fighting a losing battle trying to tame that hair of hers.
Even so, Ron tucked a bit of her hair behind her ear in a romantic gesture. It promptly rebelled, popping right back up to dance across Hermione's forehead. She giggled at Ron's attempt at cut

He slipped through the large door, unseen. Closing it behind him, he searched around the room, hoping to find what he needed. Revealing a head full of flame - red hair and a ghostly white face, the Invisibility Cloak slid off him. His complexion was paler than normal. Dry tears marking him. It seemed as though the boy - perhaps around the age of nineteen - never stopped weeping. He finally took the cloak off and held it with a loose grasp in his shaking fist. His tall frame shivering. Pain... grief... fear... coldness... One could only hope that the boy was shivering from lack of body heat, and nothing else.
Looking around, he could not find what he needed. He needed the mirror - not just any old mirror. He needed the cruelest mirror he ever knew.

Fred only laughed and upon reaching the edge of the lake, tossed you into the water. You didn't go without a fight though, because before you were completely free of him, you managed to grab a hold of the front of his robes and bring him in with you.

What happened was never really to be seen. After going into the Great Hall, and being in there for about two minutes, George came out again, with a face that was hardly recognisable.
They were burning, his eyes. Burning with such fury and such grief, even experienced members of the Order backed aside when he marched through the Entry Hall with a wand in each hand.
Around his eyes, it was dark, and very person the gaze was turned at seemed to be reflected, for the eyes were shinier than usual, but didnt seem to spot any of those standing there.
Hatred. Pure and flowing hatred seemed to beam out from him. The kind of hatred you can only feel, when you know that the person that killed a best friend, a brother, a soul mate, are still near you, along with the person that allowed and ordered the murder.
The fight was raging around him, and George was fighting as well. In a way hed never done before, not in his entire life. He didnt have to dodge, didnt have to be afra

"Alright, I guess," she replied, looking into Ron's eyes. "But my body aches all over from the Cruciatus Curse."
"Oh," said Ron awkwardly. Having never been put under the Cruciatus Curse, he had no idea what it felt like.
"But never mind me," Hermione said, smiling for the first time since she had fainted, "how are you?" She placed her hand on Ron's leg comfortingly, rolling her thumb over his knee.
Ron shivered as he watched Hermione's hand on his knee, his eyes wide. They had held hands before, and hugged many times, but this was a new gesture; however, Ron wasn't complaining. It felt too good for words having Hermione's hand on his leg, caring about what happened to him.
Hermione must have seen his wide eyes, and taken that to mean he was uncomfortable, because she removed her hand, blushing.
"Uh I'm fine," Ron said. "I was mostly worried about you. You know," he continued, "you were brilliant, not caving in when that horrible wo

Ron's following cough of "Lockhart!" did not go unnoticed by Hermione. How ridiculous, she was only thirteen at the time! She liked to think that she'd grown up in two years' time and moved beyond silly crushes on teachers.
And she had moved beyond that! She was quite focused on her schoolwork, unlike a couple of her friends that she could mention. Her classes didn't leave time for her to ogle boys, unlike a couple of her roommates that she could mention. So it was completely ridiculous for Ron to suggest that she liked Cedric Diggory just because he's handsome.
If she was going to be honest with herself, Cedric certainly was good-looking. Strong jawline, nice hair, tall though nothing about his appearance really stood out to her. Yes, he was attractive, but he didn't have that extra something. Hermione didn't know what that something was. Was it charm? No, Cedric certainly w

A few seconds of discomfort, and suddenly Ron was standing outside of Hermione's house.
Immediately, Ron thought of how much shorter Hermione's house looked than the Burrow. True, the Burrow was tiny, but it rose up several stories high, giving it the appearance of a much roomier house. In contrast, Hermione's house was only one story, and even just the outside of it looked neater than the whole of the Burrow had ever been.
He looked down at Hermione, who was biting her lip. He could almost feel her nervousness radiating from her. It was understandable in the circumstances it had only been a few months since she had fetched her parents from Australia and recruited help from the Ministry in restoring her parents' memories fully. Ron, still not forgetting what he had seen Dean and his baby sister doing in sixth year, slowed, but did not stop.
Eventually, Dean fell into step with him, and a very awkward silence ensued. Sensing why Ron wasn't speaking to him, Dean said, "Y'know, I'm sorry about what you, er, saw me and Ginny doing last year."
Immediately, the image of Dean and Ginny wrapped in a tight embrace popped into his mind.
"Yeah," Dean continued, "I reckon I wouldn't want to see anyone with my little sister like that."
Ron snorted. I bet you wouldn't

The silence from the drawing room was far from reassuring to him; at least when Hermione was screaming, he knew she was alive.
"We're going to have to try and tackle him," Harry whispered. "Leave the lights on," he added, as Ron was about to pull out the Deluminator. They heard someone descending the steps outside the door, and backed against the wall on either side of it.
"Stand back," said Wormtail. "Stand away from the door. I am coming in."
The door flew open, and he and Harry launched themselves at Wormtail. Ron seized his wand arm and forced it upwards as Harry covered his mouth with his hand to prevent him from calling out. Wormtail's wand emitted sparks, and his silver hand closed around Harry's throat.
"What is it, Wormtail?" called Lucius Malfoy from above.
Thinking fast, Ron called back in what he thought was a decent imitation of Wormtail's voice, "Nothing! All fine!"

I'm not saying it wasn't, but the reasons I believed so were different than what I think now, maybe even a little wrong... well, perhaps not so wrong for a young boy. The banner strung across the Burrow's kitchen strongly reminded Harry of the one that once stretched across Number 12's kitchen, when the two of them had become Gryffindor prefects.
This time, however, the congratulations were for a completely different occasion: Ron and Hermione had just gotten engaged.
The couple was surrounded by family and friends, shaking hands and giving hugs. Harry caught them smiling at each other every now and then when they got a break from all the well-wishing.
He couldn't be happier for his two best friends. He had watched them grow up together, develop feelings for each other, and eventually get their act together. And now, they were making it official. It felt like yesterday that they were arguing over Viktor Krum and house elves.

Rubbing her temples, Hermione left a shaken Klein and rushed to the sanctity and organization of her own office. She pulled out a fresh roll of parchment and began to write a memo that apologised to Shacklebolt about his wrecked office and slightly mangled ear.
Her eagle-feather quill skated across the parchment much more quickly than usual. Today had been a long day, and she couldnt wait to get home and see Ron. His hours in the field as an Auror almost always conflicted with her schedule at the Ministry. In fact, in the past week, theyd only run into each other at their flat twice, and theyd made the most of those two moments.
When she finished the letter, Hermione folded the parchment over and sealed it with a charm. She addressed the memo, tapped it twice, and watched it sail out her slightly ajar door.
