Submission GuideI finally stopped being lazy and wrote up a submission guide. It is currently located on the top right hand side of the group page but I will also post it here for convenienceSubmission Guide2 years ago in Personal More Like This
PLEASE NO MATURE ART. It doesn't matter what kind. Any mature art will be rejected. Art that is borderline mature also has a /very/ good chance of being rejected. We're sorry but we want to keep this group family and kid friendly. After all, Doctor Whoof is a cartoon pony from a children's show.
There are a lot of folders in this group, If your going to submit something please submit it to the correct one or it will be rejected.
This is for GENERAL art of Doctor Whoof. Mainly pictures showing just him or him with a couple of companions/enemies. HE MUST BE THE MAIN FOCUS!
We have been receiving a lot of submissions of pictures where he is a background character with almost /no/ relevance. If it's a picture of an enemy or companion with Doctor Whoof being in the background, pleas

Portal 2 Alternate Storyline Revealed at PAX2012Here is a blog post from G4TV:Portal 2 Alternate Storyline Revealed at PAX20121 year ago in Personal More Like This
Remember at the end of Portal 2 when the companion cube get spat out at Chell’s feet in the middle of that generic cornfield? Well, until relatively late into development, that cube was going to be a turret…as in, married…to Chell. “What?!” you no doubt just said out loud to yourself, preferably around a bunch of strangers who are now looking at you with curious yet slightly terrified eyes. I know, crazy right?
During their PAX Prime 2012 panel, Valve writers Chet Faliszek and Erik Wolpaw revealed that the team had developed an entire subplot where Chell did in fact get married to a turret. Remnants of this subplot can still be seen in the game, specifically in the name of the disproportionally larger turret you might have spotted in the game, which is “the Turret Wife.”
In this twisted alternate narrative universe, Chell would run into a pile of turrets in the deepest corners of Aperture Science who would
Sherlock Holmes: The Ever Evolving IconWhat is it about a fictional character first introduced to the public in Great Britain in 1887 that has kept him being reincarnated, with generationally-correct upgrades, over and over again in film and on television? Who is this literary hero whose portrayal over the past century by such past masters as Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett to today’s vanguard talents Robert Downey, Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch has inspired such a continuing outpouring of fan appreciation?Sherlock Holmes: The Ever Evolving Icon2 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This

My Most Realistic DreamAlright, bear with me on this one, its kind of weird. I JUST woke up and the details are already getting a little fuzzy, but this is the dream I just had. Now the perspective of the dream is a little weird because for the most part I wasn't actually dreaming from my point of view, but rather I was dreaming from my Camera's point of view. But I think that'll make sense in a moment. My Most Realistic Dream2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I was dreaming that I decided that some weird things had been happening lately around me, so I'd decided to start recording the events going on around me. This first started with me just randomly filming myself walking around a park. Nothing too interesting of course. But the next time I filmed, in that same park, I noticed in my dream that the image became distorted and when I looked closely, I saw a tall man in a dark suit standing just next to a tree out of short. The picture returned to normal and I continued on my way.
I almost instantly realized I was being followed by Slender Man. I'd seen enough of th

Art Theft - A Recurring ProblemOkay, I've been having something of an onslaught of art theft reports lately. Thank you to everyone who has submitted a report(s). It is with your help that I'm able to track down and report the majority of the theft.Art Theft - A Recurring Problem3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This journal was put together to try to get rid of some common ideas that bring people to think that art theft is an okay thing and to make it clear where I stand regarding a few different types of art theft. Art theft is just a soft term for copyright infringement and should not be taken lightly.
On the other side of this battle are the thieves themselves. It is true that many of them do know that they shouldn't be taking and reusing the art they found and liked but many more of them are completely clueless concerning the terms and rules various artists have concerning their work. Because of this, I ask that you please do not flame or attack the thieves you find.

Part 1: Submitting with POWER
I know there are a million "how to be popular" guides on DA and a million more parody versions of them. This article isn't about becoming popular, or starting drama or racking up pageviews as fast as possible for the sake of seeing a larger number.
This article won't make your art better, or make you more a more popular personality. However, what I've noticed is that many artists are missing out on feedback and exposure that they should be getting if not for a few common mistakes. Time after time, I've read on Artist's Confessions, or just browsing through members' personal journals that their gallery doesn't recieve any traffic and they can't improve because they're not getting any feedback. They feel like their lack of popularity is a personal statement. That their art isn't worth looking at. This is entirely untrue.
Hopefully this will help you, the underexposed artist, to b
