Brothers In Blood Pt. 65
"Hey sis? You mind getting me a drink?" The words that rolled quietly from his tongue felt thick and slow like molasses.
"Sure." Meme turned around with a worried frown.
"Oh no, let me." Bastion kissed Menate's cheek. "Stay with your brother. It's too crowded in here. I can get through easier."
"Thanks babe." Her smile was back as she patted the front of his coat.
"No problem my little bird." He didn't even wave a hand or make a motion towards his bodyguard. The dark man only turned and the thundering mountain followed. It was easier for Bastion because the bodyguard made a path.
"Hit me faster than normal. You know I can usually hold it back until we get on stage." Putting down his amp again, Lleu leaned against the wall and rubbed at his tired, dry eyes. "I'm sure your beau now thinks your brother is a flake." He managed to pry his eyes open and give his sister a shaky smile that quickly faltered. "Maybe this is a bad idea. This night may be too much."
"If you need to go, I will go w

Dylan stepped off his motorcycle and unzipped his leather jacket. The English weather was still the same pissy drizzly type as when he left last year. He hated it yet here he was back again. He let out a sigh and swung his leg up and over so he could get his saddlebags off and head inside before the humidity fucked up his hair any more. He was back because he had finally outstayed his welcome at his friend's, and honestly until they started their protests in the fall, he couldn't do much else. He could either try and slum off another friend or come back here.
He had the funds to get his own place, and he had one, but it was sparsely furnished and really Dylan hated to be alone for long. It wasn't in his nature. He was always seeking out contact with someone eventually. He just wasn't in the mood to bring home one night stand after one night stand. So h

Damion was eating in the mess bullshitting with the other pilots who had just arrived here on the biggest ship in the entire fleet. The room was noisy and all the voices echoed off the shiny steel walls. Sammy and Dulton were the senior pilots at the table. They were there to get a bead on the rookies. He didn't care because the more he listened to all the bullshit flying around the more he was able to shift through it and pick out what was real and what was not truth.
What had he picked up on? Whoever the Core named 47 was they seemed to like killing their pilots. Damion hoped he never came across his way.
He was here. He was finally here. After years of waiting, years of being forced to take on, and therefore kill, the Fighters that were not for him, the one he wanted was here. Generally within the Chrysalis Corp, Core's picked their Fighters. It just worked out better that way. But in 47's case, he wasn't picking. When he should have picked a Fighter years ago, he had held off, tell

Touch had just woken for the evening, fed, made love, showered and was about to accompany his mate and lover to the den hoping to capture a sight of their children, when there was sudden frantic knocking at their door.
"Enter James." Touch could sense his newer Beta.
Chaya poked his head out of the bathroom where he was putting up his hair. He frowned as he read the emotions. "He's worried." The lithe man murmured right before James burst through the door.
"Lleu's gone." The wolf blurted out without ceremony. "Faust noticed his bike was gone only about two minutes ago. And boss . . . his room looks like a hastily cleaned up mess."
"Fuck." Touch walked out of his room, "I'll check on Meme, you go look for Dylan."

"I don't know Juni, they will be in danger here too." Damion gave his friend a small frown.
"They are safe here I swear on it." Juni said with firmness in his voice.
"I am not trying to insult you I am just saying they are targets." Damion put down his unfinished drink.
"And we haven't been laid in months!"
The pale Core reached out and grasped Damion's hand tightly, making his eyes meet Damion's. He also leaked all of the emotion out of them, made his true feelings not be seen in them. The Fighter had become to adept at reading him since they were paired.
"Fighter, 108 and I will be fine. We truly wish not to be a burden on you or Fighter Juni. You promised me that I would not affect your enjoyment while you were on leave and that is exactly what you doing. If you wish, please go. We will lock the door after you and I will alert you if anything is amiss." He tapped his pinky and the comm watch wrapped around Damion's wrist and he knew that his Fighter contained the knowled

Requiem came into consciousness slowly, both of his eyes fluttering as they opened. He was alarmed for a moment to see how blurry everything was and then remembered he was in the immersion tank. He could see figures rushing back and forth through the glass and then one actually walk up to the glass. It took him a minute to recognize it was Damion who had placed his palm against the tank, fingers splayed. Still groggy, Requiem moved his own hand slowly through the gelatin, eventually placing his own hand on the glass, matching Damion's. There was a tug on his body from above and his hand fell away as he was lifted from the tank.
Damion gave his Core a small grin, "Hey sleeping beauty. You feeling better?"
The nurses brought Requiem down, laying him on a table so that they could dry him off and assess him. He was still covered in bruises but ones that looked like they had been healing for a few days. Still blue and purple but with greens and yellows interspersed. Both his eyes could open

Damion was happy dinner was over. He was happier he'd get to leave and get out of the apartment soon. Juni's parents did not seem to be bad people but they were definitely not normal working citizens either. At times Damion wasn't sure if was being complimented or judged.
"Remember to lock the door and don't let anyone in." He said to Requiem.
Requiem was sitting on the large bed and nodded to his Fighter. At his words, he stood up and followed Damion to the door, preparing to close it once the man left. "As you order. Enjoy yourself."
"Try and watch out for each other." Damion hoped that the Cores would have some idea if the other were in trouble. "And don't worry, we'll be back in a few hours"
"I will not worry and we will remain here together so that there are no separate incidences." Requiem replied, keeping his eyes lowered. "I will inform you if there are any problems."
"I hope there won't be." He ruffled Requiem's hair.
He stepped outside the room and met Juni at the front door.

Damion walked with his Core to the waiting platform, not surprised to see Juni running with 108 only seconds before the boarding bell rang.
"How can you let him be late?" Damion asked 108 jokingly.
108's eyes flicked to Requiem, taking in his body language in half a second before lowering to the ground. "I informed Fighter Juni of the time frame but he insisted that he take his time. I believe, despite my warnings, that he lost track of time."
"Ah, don't blame him! I was showing him the cool vid's they show in the bars." Juni laughed and nudged his Core forward as the line to the ship began to move.
"You mean you were getting drunk before we left." Damion rolled his eyes.
"Juni consumed approximately three bottles of the high content Butterfly beer in quick succession before we left the establishment." 108 reported as he shuffled forward. The two Cores were yet again in between the Fighter's with Damion in front, still holding Requiem's stiff hand. 108 was behind Requiem and Juni was b

"Look alive Fighter."
Damion stood up straight and kept his mouth shut even if he wanted to tell the man to go to hell. He tried to look passed Collins hoping to see his Core.
Requiem was brought it by two different men than had taken him away, held up on either side by his arms. His head was bowed and his feet dragged heavily even has he attempted to walk. He was paler than normal, which was saying something, and his hair was damp with moisture. The leader was following behind all of them, his lips pursed in a frown as he kept sharp eyes on Damion. He flicked his chin to Collins and than the door.
The infantryman shot a look at the Fighter full of pity and also strength as he saluted the man and than left. The two others took the Core to the capsule, setting him in it to let him slump back, the ice blue eyes glazed and only half open as the men left him and went out the door.
"Remember what I said." Was all the lieutenant had to say before he left, the door sliding shut behind him.

Damion smiled at that and watched Requiem fall asleep. Damion wondered if he could risk leaving. He was getting too attached to Requiem in a way that was dangerous for both of them.
He stood and headed to the mess. He was happy to see Juni there and immediately went to sit by his friend.
"You by yourself?" Juni looked surprised.
"Yes. He's asleep and I just needed space." He scratched his temple and looked around the room.
"Something wrong?" The lighter skin man asked.
"Just ready for the leave." Damion was ready to get away to be around normal people.
"Have a girl lined up?"
He snorted, "No"
Juni laughed, "Need me to dry you up?"
"I don't need a hooker." At least not at that moment.
Requiem didn't sleep for long and when he did wake up, he was slightly confused as to why he had done so. It took him a few minutes to realize it was because Damion wasn't there in the room with him. He sat up, the blanket still wrapped around him and blinked blearily around the empty space. His eyes fell

"Yes. Some how there was S.O.S written out on my mayo."
Killian stared at him for a moment longer before bursting out laughing. "S.O.S.?"
"Yes. I will never want to look at a sandwich again." He pulled out only after he was sure Scarborough was not paying attention to them.
"She wrote a note in the mayo from your sandwich?! How badly did you freak out?" Killian was grinning ear to ear, his eyes dancing in mirth.
"Oh shut up." Jet was not going to tell the man how he almost freaked out right there in middle of the bullpen. "You ask her to stalk me?"
"No. She was concerned and insisted on goin' to get ya. I didn't ask her how she was goin' to go about it." Killian said with a shrug, his smile slowly fading.

"Everyone ready to go to Temple for offerings today?" Juni asked walking right into Damion's room, something Damion was really getting tired of lately. Of course the other Fighter was in a damn happy mood. Juni was having sex every night and enjoying it greatly. Damion was happy that Juni was getting over his anxiousness but now his happiness almost grated on Damion's own frayed nerves.
"Think the Goddess would listen if I asked her to strike you mute?" Damion smirked.
"Might I suggest using duct tape instead?" Requiem said, coming out of the bedroom with Damion's shoes, placing on the floor next to the Fighter's feet. "It is an ancient invention but still very effective to this day. " He opened his mouth to say more than realized that it might not be appropriate and closed it. He believed that duct tape was more effective than sending prayers to a force that only existed in what he thought were the collective minds of worshipers looking for an answer. The first order of business on Killian's to-do list was to deal with Joe. He was furious at the man. And not really for burning down his home, although that was enough. No, it was for the multitude of lives lost within the building itself. Kil knew not everyone had escaped the inferno. From the ferocity that it had been burning and how quickly it had gone up, Killian knew that some sort of extreme accelerate had to have been used.
Men, women, children, all had died and the ones that hadn't were now like Killian, homeless and with nowhere to go. Everything they owned, everything that mattered outside of their lives was gone. Sinsen was working in his shop, bent half over grinding some paste in his mortar with a large wood pastel. He looked up briefly when Killian walked into his space.

Juni had attempted to keep his promise, running back to the flight deck as soon as Damion was taken away. But all that he was greeted with was 108 standing next to the Ares, watching security disappear with Requiem down an opposite hallway. He looked toward his Fighter as Juni approached, sadness in his eyes.
"They took him again to the Creators." The Core explained quietly. Juni shook his head, his eyes on the opening that they had disappeared through. Sighing, he through an arm over his Core's shoulders.
"Nothing we can do now. We'll go back to our room and wait. If you don't mind, you can keep an eye on their room through the communication systems."
108 merely nodded and Juni led him away.

They were back. The spirits were in his mind, in his dreams, chanting. ~We accept and approve this mating.~ Over and over again. He saw himself, and Jet, entwined and surrounded by that golden light that had surrounded them earlier.
~Kil.~ Now they were saying his name. Over and over again. ~Kil. Kil.~ But it sounded so weird, so . . . so real. As if it was right in his ear. "Killian!"
The lithe man shot up straight in bed with a shout only to scream again as he came face to face with Misty. "Jesus fucking Christ!! What?"
The spirit looked just as shock as him but it was also combined with a healthy dose of worry and panic.
"Kilboy, our apartment's on fire." She said with a squeak, floating away from the bed as Kil leapt out of it. And then promptly fell to the ground with a squeak of pain.
"Fuckin' hell! What do you mean our apartment's on fire?!" He growled as he forced himself to his hands and knees, ignoring the shooting pain in his ass and lower back as he searched for his pants.

They were awake before they landed but Damion passed the time finishing up the book he downloaded before they left Zeus. Of course Juni wasn't and Damion even had to knock on the door and tell 108 to wake him up. He didn't know where Juni lived and wasn't about to get lost in the busy city.
While Damion read his book, Requiem kept himself occupied on the terminal provided in the room. His eyes scanned the console quickly, reading about Juni's planet and the colony that they were visiting, trying to learn all he could. Despite that, he was still quiet and withdrawn when they stepped off the transport, sticking close to Damion's side.
He knew that this particular area was known for the rich and well to do. A type of people that, despite Juni, were known to not be kind to those below their station. And those that they didn't deem to be proper or high society. While they did not keep slaves because of illegality, servants were kept for a minimum wage and those people who were merely just t

As the cockpit opened, Damion crawled out and nearly had to pick his Core out of the Fighter.
"If you reach the end conclusion, I was not doing it for the President. I was doing it for you." Requiem said wearily, leaning heavily against the Fighter, unable to even hold his head up. "Our actions have put us in the notice of the President and even has discredited the Commander. I did what was necessary and there was no risk to my life."
"You don't know if there was risk to your life and if there was you wouldn't care anyway. Damn it." Damion picked up Requiem's chin to look at his lover's face. "Don't make me take you to the doctor."
"As long as I do not allow the ship to drain my energy completely, I will not be terminated." Requiem stated patiently, his eyes staying on Damion's chin as was appropriate of a Core. "And it would be illogical to take me to the med bay where I would be merely brought under the attention of the Creator."

Unlike his siblings, Lleu preferred to stay away from large crowd. Especially on an evening such as this when there would be more people than usual at the clubs and out on the streets. He generally got lost in himself and in others if he wasn't too careful in crowds, the energy and emotions of those around him overwhelming his shields and affecting him like a drug.
So instead he stayed at the Council House, within his father's office, on the sofa and surrounded by the comforting scents of his family. He had to admit, it was a little lonely and he missed Nick especially, but he didn't mind it. He figured later that he might join the wolves off duty in their own revelry.

Kil had been about to lean against the door but instead had to settle for the doorway, letting out a long sigh as he leaned over, his hands on his knees. His heart was pounding and a cold sweat had popped up over his skin. Adrenaline rushed through his system and brought back his earlier dizziness. The stiletto was still clutched in his left hand.
"You know, I generally sleep during the day. It's easier that way. No one, dead or alive, tends to bother me. So to me, right now, it's midnight. And I wish I were in bed. Because this day has sucked."
Jet raised an eyebrow crossing his arms. "I could have helped, for one, and two blue boy you didn't suck anything."

Half a hour later - after damn near being picked up for speeding - Jet was slamming the door shut on his undercover car, a rusted ugly blue Chevy. He marched up to the truck holding his . . . his . . . whatever the fuck they were.
"Killian!" He banged on the glass and after getting no answer, began to panic inside. He was stoic on the outside going back to his car. He opened the trunk and pulled out a small back satchel, pulling out a few tools before going back to the ugly truck. It took Jet over a minute to open the truck bed window and he admitted to himself he was getting rusty. It had been a damn long time since he had to pick a lock.
Once the latch gave, he whipped the door opened and pulled on Killian's leg.
Somewhere in the back of his unconscious mind, Killian knew he wasn't in danger. And because of that, he didn't wake. Instead he let out a soft, whimpering grumble, pulling his ankle out of Jet's grip, Killian turned onto his stomach and pulled a blanket over his head.
